      Just for the sake of clarity, I was agreeing with the OP, mainly due to namesakedness. But I do like the editing.

    It's awesome that they did not edited this video.. just to please Paul :) I have a PRS SC58 and a R9 Gibson: both absolutely great instruments, and one day my #1 is PRS, another Gibson. Gibson has always an instant good sound, but overall PRS is IMHO a slightly better and better made

  • @vimvim8805
    @vimvim8805 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Must say you were a little hasty concluding on the Maybach. As the Norwegian dealer down below says, they´re really good guitars. Having owned 3 (still got one) and also both two R7, one R8 and an R9 as well as a CS Bonamassa aged LP, I honestly think Maybach matches them all. except the Bonamassa (which is the most stupid guitar sale I´ve ever made!).

  • @gab_ale
    @gab_ale 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well not all guitars sound the same (obviously) with the same amp set up. I liked the clean of the PRS but when distorted it sounded a bit bright (not as fat as the LPs). The LPs sounded great the way the amp was set up. For my taste, the 58' was #1, Pete's #2, PRS #3, Chapman's #4.

    Why doesn't Andertons stock Vintage/fretking brands .... Were they stocked in the past [ Vintage ] but never sold or is not to his liking that brand .,,, ??? What chance is there to do a comparison video with a nik huber Orca 59 and Les Paul at the same price point .

They must be operating in a Parallel Universe and they've Easily found a way to take it on the Otherside. I tried to Get On Top of the situation but Fat Dance (bonus track) of that.

    • @12x2richter
      @12x2richter 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Landslide 100% disagree. As I pointed out elsewhere, I have a Gibson LP Traditional in Wine, and a PRS Custom 24 in Charcoal Burst, and the PRS is FAR better looking. It's likely a matter of personal preference, because I had to look long and far to find an LP that didn't look like it sat in a smokey pawnshop for 30 years with the yellowed aging nicotine fade that they seem to put on 95% of them. If you're a guitar traditionalist, I can see why you might prefer the LP, but as a work of art, most of the PRS's I've seen are just gorgeous. I saw they actually did a display of PRS guitars at the Musical Instrument Museum to show how amazing some of them were.

      Matthew Szerlag still works good. Stays in tune pretty well too. Even after it’s been like a week(?) or so I’ve played it. Probably cuz the last guy put chrome tuners on it instead of factory. Idk. But hey if it ain’t ur style man it ain’t ur style

    • @LeviBulger
      @LeviBulger 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The trick is to stretch the strings out when putting new ones on. I also find that tuning up a pitch and letting it sit like that overnight really helps. Stretching strings is always a good idea, but unlike strats, neck throughs and single cuts aren't as forgiving if you don't stretch them. Also, locking tuners are basically a must

    blindfolding Lee is a great representation of what we might think of guitars if we didn't have our eyes. It contrasts with Chappers knowledge super well. When I watch Lee, I know he's going to mention all the things I would possibly look for in playability and tone. But watching Chappers is almost for pure entertainment. Great vids fam! Keep it up!

    Lol did he just said that the Maybach felt like a high end Epiphone ? Isn't it convenient that Gibson guitars score 2 out of 3 he likes the most..... All I have to say to this topic is : my guitar teacher is a really big snob when it comes to guitars and I bet he owns at least enough guitars to hit the 180k mark ( 10 of those said guitars are high end Gibsons) speaking of True Historic , CC and so on. Now the same person owns at least 5 Maybach guitars and told me he can barely tell any difference ( neither do I ) except that the relicing on Gibson still looks nicer in his opinion.....

    I've noticed in these videos that the scoring becomes more favourable the further into the selection they are.

    • @BeefCake45
      @BeefCake45 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you are scoring on scale such as this that tends to happen. You see it all the time with teachers scoring students tests (hence they go back and review the first set of tests after then finish the full stack) OR you see it a lot in creative concept testing - in movies, advertising etc etc.

    Love Lee but its a bit tiring playing context-less G and D chords all the time. Lee, you need to learn some music (with best intentions :) ) and apply it to your playing. Don't be afraid of music theory, its your friend!

    What they should do is have Danish Pete play the guitars with same chords and riffs while Rob and lee and Pete are all blindfolded. They should also write their votes instead of saying score out loud until the end.

    We stock them here in Trondheim, every guitar they deliver is really, REALLY good, and they are incredibly popular! But, each to his own I guess! :)

    A couple mistakes at the end:
    - the Gretsch did not score higher than the PRS. the Gretsch was a 5/10 and the PRS had 6.5-7/10.
    - the one that Lee didn't like the sound of was the LTD, not the PRS. he didn't say anything about the sound of the PRS.
    Either way, fun video. Editing is on point as always.

    I don't absolutely think Maybach are comparable to high end epiphones.
    Maybach Lesters are ultra high quality and even relic, kind of a version of a custom shop gibson, for the price of a standard gibson.

    I like the sound of the maybach lester but they weigh nothing in comparison to a Gibson, so they feel a bit weird. The maybach teles are the best teles ever (they feel like custom shop fenders). Haven't had the chance to try a stradovari maybach yet.

    Concearning the Maybach,
    I only have one of them and I have to say, I love it! I prefer it over my Gibson Les Paul Standard from 2017.
    Maybe I've ended up with a good one (no idea when it comes to consistency). I'm not a fan of the relic thing, but I'd still pick it up over my other high ends like the LP and my PRS.

    I posted this on another video, but you might be paying more attention to this one. You guys should do a review of the Ibanez AR420. For a cost of GBP529 ( www.andertons.co.uk/ibanez-ar420-vls-electric-guitar-in-dark-brown-sunburst ), and given its interesting switching (two super58 humbuckers, each with switching to make it wired in parallel, series or coil split) and its great aesthetics (burst, flamed bubinga top, rosewood board), it's well worth taking a look at, particularly as you look at some of the lower priced guitars from epiphone, prs, etc.

    What's more interesting about this is the shift that occurs when something like a sense is impaired/removed. Contrast and compare to experiments with the way that perceptions of the taste of food vary according to different lighting, or colouration added. The way that wine experts were fooled by adding red dye to white wine, and describing it in all the terms that are usually used for reds. Humans are complicated things, and are fooled all to easily, when usual conditions are changed.
