That Enter Sandman jam sounded like 2 teenagers who saved up all their allowance to buy the cheapest gear they could afford just to start a band called Mikudeth or Mitalliku
Love how Lee chooses to make it more difficult for himself instead of dialing it in. Does make it funnier. If you do the “love video” a good twist would be “that they wouldn’t pick for themselves”
Its wild to me how long not only this channel has been around but also how long both rob and lee have been playing, for them to have zero experience with a jazz chorus considering how iconic of an amplifier it is.
So glad you are doing this actually in the store this time! Anderton's USP is that they are basically an online retailer who makes you feel like you are buying things in a shop from a team you know and trust. More in the shop and less scrolling through the site or gear just magically appearing at the start of the vid is the way to do this. More please!
@@rybr5423 How? Never seen comments pop up when watching a video, only see comments when actively scrolling down and that only shows what has been posted already, nothing new comes unless i refresh the page.
the Yamaha Spliffmaster and JC-40 combo sounded quite nice. and excellent choice by Pete to bring in the Korg Miku pedal to seal the deal on this video.
Lee you are sooo missing a trick in this challenge. Given Mr. Chappers proficiency and hence the difficulty in choosing something. two options: 1. a left handed guitar 2. a pedal steel hilarity prevails!! 😁
You've got to keep playing that thing because you have no idea how much of a badass you made yourself look compared to always playing those blue riffs man you look like a rockstar
Have to say Lee did surprisingly well with his rig, given that it was...a bit out of his comfort zone. Not at all surprised that Rob got a great tone from his rig, I play Garage Rock/Rock N' Roll with a hollowbody and a JC-40 and that amp should not be underestimated for that kind of style
An idea for another video would be "a rig I think my mate will love but they would never pick for themselves" and try out different obscure things that fit your styles
Serious- Andertons first got me through some hard times in 2017. I find myself in challenging times once again, and here I am chain viewing Andertons again. Can’t wait to visit one day and express my appreciation (and come away with some kit in return)
That is most people I'd assume. If someone asked me to play jazz I'd have to apologise to anyone within ear-shot before I begin. And even then I wouldn't know where to begin.
I absolutely love how Rob sneaks through the halls with such mischievous delight, enjoying the potential irritation his choices will cause Lee. That made my day - thanks to everyone!
Anytime I need to laugh until I pass out, I put on the original Meko video. 😂😂😂😂. Honestly, I think that was the first video I saw of you guys. That damn pedal was the cause of me eventually flying to the London and visiting the store. 😅. All three of you were around.
That was AWESOME!!! The most hilariously good time I've seen in a guitar video of late... Now this, my friends, is what the world needs more of at the moment... just let your hair down, forget about the days' problems, good clean fun, messing around with friends... Bravo!!!
I’ve been a fan of this channel for years and only just watched that old video. Yall must have read my mind cause I was thinking how fun an updated version of this would be lol
YES! I was already smiling but it somehow got even wider when you pulled out the Miku. That review is the most I've ever laughed watching a TH-cam video & made me track one down and by it even after most places had sold out. That pedal is so much fun.
Y'all gotta keep doing these every year. I also wish there were a way we could get an annual Rob Chapman / Andertons Orange Micro Terror & Micro Dark review haha. Those old cheap Orange hybrid head reviews are some of my favorite.
The other guitarist in my band HATES surf/seafoam green, but I love it. So I’ve quietly been putting together an entirely new live rig… 2 Seafoam Teles, a Seafoam Strat, surf green cables, predominantly surf/seafoam green pedalboard, surf green headshell and cab. He hasn’t seen it yet. Will literally be his idea of gear hell.
I loved watching Lee out of comfort zone on the 7 string 😂 he really gave it a good go though! Seeing you guys play stuff that you're not super proficient at is refreshing. Onto the 8 string fan fret!
I WAS BEGGING FOR THIS TO COME BACK!! The original was my favourite vid of the channel! You always gotta give Lee and extended range guitar haha I think we get Rob a mini guitar or a ukulele next time, just something he would absolutely hate that isn’t a conventional electric guitar cuz he can make them all work! I also want to see Lee learn how to Crab Core
Just a wicked little thought. Lee, why not get Rob his favorite Chapman Ghostfret and then stitch him up with a Squier Frontman 10, combine that with an eq pedal! If Rob can get that to sound good, I'll buy an Eastcoast sight unseen! 😂
I regularly gig a Roland Jazz Chorus with a Schecter Wayne Hussey Corsair 12 string and a Schecter Coupe Semi with a Bigsby. I use them for a covers set of The Mission, The Cure, The Cult and The Church etc. If you really wanted to mess Chappers up you could have just got him an electric 12 string.
Lee standing and chugging away is definitely a key highlight of this channels entire history. Incredible. Well done Chappers!
🤣😂
hell yea! Once a week Lee needs to be giving us this.
Put that guitar back up and he will still look legit with that 7 😂
@@randymccoy2527for sure the kse vibes in that first part with him was interesting
Should have made him dress the part. Black fingernails. Safety pin through the nose. Funny though, nonetheless!

Sounds like me and my buddies in 1987 high school. We were called the partials. Because we didn't know full songs. Good times
Lolol😂
Lee chugging in the power stance is the guitar content I needed today.
How about Rob just buy Lee a really nice rig, but from a different store. That would drive Lee mental.
The Harley Benton rig
@@Return2TheLiving dude, fk yes
This feels like an authentic, old school Chappers snd the Captain video, and I’m 100% on board.

There are some absolute hilarious classics in there!

We should do a left-handed backing track jam challenge

This riff is insane

and a LTD and a Jackson too. But apparently theres no "7 strings on their system"

“Im jealous you have a guitar company” give that man a raise! Quick thinking.
Lee just smashes it. For never playing that music. He wings it very very well.
Not so difficult.
No dynamic range.
Tone being a result of total distortion alone.
Not much rythmic complexity.
Piss in a bucket.

Come on, Lee looks super authentic with that 7 string, standing up! ;D Totally missed seeing you two having fun! PLEEEEASE, more of that! :)

So unoriginal and grifty, eh?

So cool to see an old-school video! choosing items in the store and everything! 🤘

Lets be real Rob would love that too LOL
Late to the vid and that was my suggestion.
Robs gear is actually a decent ambient setup
Honestly, I was very surprised by the crunch
Great to see Rob back in videos like the old days
I would give Rob a gypsy jazz guitar, unamplified, with no pick.
I was thinking along the same lines. Just give the man a full pedal steel rig and see how he does lol.
Just a ban on shameless self promotion would do. He did try, bless him.
Just tell Rob he can't use legato.
electric guitalele through a jamjar amp with a few different filters
To be fair, that’s pretty much dead on 😂
Lee chugging standing up is definitely profile picture material 😂

The captain Lee power stance killed me😂
See, the banter between the Captain and Chappers just works!
Easy. Lee gets a quad cortex and a Jackson with EMG’s. Rob a Fender Twin with a big ole Gretsch.
Turn up the twin to ear piercing levels and you’ve got a great punk or grunge rig.
That was friggin awesome, Lee! Hat's off!!
Acoustasonic with a high gain amp (Engl Powerball maybe) and a Digitech Drop would be a great pick 😂
Jazz Choruses definitely have good gain, my old guitarist played an Epiphone Dot through one and it sounded massive
