We Are Allowed To Do Pedestrian Diversions On The Road Closure! 😮🎥🛸❌

  • Today we take a look at the new Marv Studios, former Aida Bliss factory City Rd, Little Chester, Derby, DE1 3RP.
We heard about some stunt filming ongoing so we decided to take a closer look.
We notice the road was closed so we try to work with security and remain outside the cordon but even that wasn't good enough.
We speak to many people who ask us to move, not fly the drone and even try to obstruct us as we walk past when the cameras are off.
There was of course some good guys along the way also.
    Enjoy!

I've been employed by the film industry to do onsite security for shoots. Throughout all our briefings (and there were heaps) we had it drummed into us that "polite and courteous treatment is number one on our list of duties. We needed to explain what was happening, let them know if and where they'd be in the shot at any given time, when to keep any noise down, to ask politely if they could either wait a few minutes before continuing or move a tad swiftly to their destination, and to keep our heads on a swivel to ensure their safety. It's a fine line between making sure the public isn't too heavily interrupted and the film gets shot without too much public-involved downtime between takes. We were also told, "If you piss off the public in any way you'll be handed your check and asked to find other employment". Leaving us no doubt on how to behave.
Mickey wouldn't have lasted a morning!

I thought that the offer of a tea or coffee or some cake to DJ was very much aligned with the thrust of your comment. I think it might have been better to have accepted a cup of tea but in the same situation I doubt I could would have been minded to do so either.

Remember when I told you I was homeless at a point in my life?
Well during that time , I was living in a tent in victory square (park) which is a memorial park to honour our fallen and veterans. So I’m sure you know “Dead pool” was being filmed in Vancouver, so one day they wanted to use the park I was staying in to do some shoots , so they tried to shut down the park , even though they didn’t obtain a permit at the time to occupy the park , they came to my tent (I was the only on in the park with a tent at that time ) , and asked me to leave the park so they can take their shots , I refused as the park is public and they didn’t have a permit to make me leave , so I hard refused to tear down my tent , so then the director came to me and asked me “so what can I offer you to make you tear down your tent , and leave until we are done”. I replied “nothing I’m not moving , they called the cops , the cops refused to make me leave as I was well within my rights to be in the park . So then he director came back and made an offer , he offed me 50$ worth of Tim cards (Tim Hortons gift card) 50$woth of Starbucks cards And a free meal to any restaurant of my choosing , mf just as I took the offer the wind decided it was time to teach me a lesson . As I’m am breaking down my camp , the wind picks up my tent and tears it apart .. I was beside myself. And quite angry . So I stopped what I was doing and told them deal is off I now don’t have a home and the cards mean nothing now . 20 minutes later the director shows up with what was the nicest tent I ever seen . As h hands me the tents and gift cards he apologizes for what happened and Lloyd me to eat at the canteen they had set up for the actors and staff , not only did they let me eat their food they let me eat first before everyone else. I filled my plate and sat there and watched them film some shit then when they left I set up my tent and they were gone just like that ..
I must say my time on the streets of Vancouver was both the worst and best time of my life . The worst cause I was homeless the best because of the humility md the kindness of strangers . I never went a night hungry , or worried about my safety. I felt safe and felt like I was in the right place . I’ll be back there one day gods willing . Vancouver is the best place in Canada to live hands down whether you are homeless or not it’s a beautiful place and warm place to be . Cheers

if any film crew pesters you call the police yourself , they have no powers to stop anyone anywhere in public in uk, they have no powers to stop anyone from going down any paths or roads niether. i worked on films for few years and do know the actual laws on it, they have no rights at all over the public... since i stopped working on them i have had a few run ins and i have proper buggered up their filming and they have called police and got told they are in the wrong. leaving vehicles running unnatended, trying to tell people where they cant walk etc..... if i see any now taking the piss i intervene and go straight where they say you cant go ..... if they want privacy then let them go to a studio. its that simple if they want to get shitty. ........they get dispensation to park, but not to block roads unless the REAL police are in attendance . all has to be wel ldocumented for the council and only certain times and have police in attendance, not fake police . .. they seem to think its like usa where they can buy the streets for filming, in the uk this is extremely rare... the women in the green jacket is not a publisist, she is to do with the location manager.. so many on film sets think they are above the general public, trust me they are not... i would of plagued those cheeky fuckers with the drone.... shame it rained.... tv and film crews have so much they need to learn..... oh and if they have the tea stalls in the street just help your self, the yhave no right to stop yo uand cannot even charge for it as that woud be street vending.....

Why you were asked to move after you set your drone down on the floor is a mystery to me, I am surprised you walked away from it, I do wonder if the wanted to get you away from it. I was in a few situations where press and paparazzi were in on or around the set and the higher ups on the crew would lose their minds and ask us assistants to do crazy stuff to block and hinder. I was young and earning good money, so I would comply without question. Back in the 2000s there were no drones, so I think the response you got was wired, and they know they have ways to block a camera from a public place, those massive diffusers are commonly used a drone on the other hand means they have to work much harder ... you are a legend I loved this video

The young man that was quite nice, polite, respectful, was great. The morons that tried to block the footpath to you, shouting, giving you orders, what a bunch of morons!! The publicist after wanting to give you tea, cake, with the other idiot trying to be nice, because he wasn't 5 minutes earlier, only to make sure they can tell their bosses all went A-OK LOL I hope they see their behavior here and sack them all after this. And then try to reach you and apologize for these idiots, and even give you free tickets to that movie, tv show, also 🙂 DJ great job and keep up the great work you are doing sir.

    Absolutely stunning images!
I used to work in the industry and filming is generally as boring as watching paint dry. Lots of people, lots of setting up, small bursts of activity.
I do enjoy watching tge end product and would love to see more of it happening. Its one of the few things the UK does well and there is a lot of investment in new Film Stages /TV studios at the moment.
    Long may it continue...

The guy you gave the dummy to is Andrew Michael Buckley, Location Manager.
Anyone else noticed that people wearing Rab jackets are far more likely to kick off than others?

He's known to be involved in two upcoming films, "The Stuntman" and "Frankenstein (2025)"
I wonder if the filming here was to do with either of those?

21:31 Man comes with a DLSR camera, points it to you and while passing makes a photo. Just see how sneaking he pressed the button at 21:33. Looks like he used the fast shutter to make multiple photo's.

I just bought a trail cam as I was getting grief from the drug-dealing gang next door. It detects movement but only takes a single shot (photo) and I'd like it to take video. Should I try seeing if it's got a fast shutter function? I got instructions with it, but I don't read Chinese 😛

You should check the road closure permit and seeing what it said regarding the conditions if not complaining about it to the council.

I worked security for years with film crews and we had no powers out of the cordend area and couldn't stop people filming or taking photos some of the guards did try to but they were absolutely clueless. Just because they had a badge they thought they was right. The only time the public was stopped was when the cameras were rolling once stopped the public was on their way. If you speak ok to them they will be fine being stopped for a couple of minutes and sometimes get a chance chance to watch. Great video DJ 👍
