Moral of this story. Yes auditing filming is legal from a public area, yes flying a drone over businesses premises is legal if a no fly zone isn’t in place because no one owns the air space, but no you shouldn’t just go inside someone’s premises and start filming without asking permission first, and always show courtesy even if what your doing is legal. Being courteous and respectful of other people isn’t that hard is it?🤔

The sales manager is absolutely right in that the definition of private property is in the ownership, not the fact they allow the public to enter. Which means you have to ask permission to film and, if they want to, they can ask you to leave without giving any reason, regardless of whether it’s a private business property or private residential property. The only public buildings are ones paid for by the taxpayer.
There was a car dealership that used to do this kind of thing near me., well it was on a side road next to the dealership. Interestingly the dealership stopped storing cars there when the side road became a cycle lane.

OK, so as a first time viewer of this channel I’m going to go against the common sentiment. Admittedly I’ve skipped through quite a bit of this but watched about 30-40 minutes and what happened outside the dealership was 100% wrong. However, why is everyone so supportive of the poster who was being totally combative inside? I think the first guy next to the BMW was being fairly reasonable and DJE was itching for it to escalate. I also don’t understand why it’s OK to film inside someone business even if it is accessible to the public. I get these kind of videos when it’s from the pavement or outside a building but I think it’s actually reasonable to ask DJE to stop filming. I came to the comments expecting to see similar but everyone is on the posters side when, IMO, he actually behaved like a bit of a tool inside. Happy to be corrected 😊

Well the reason is because he is will within his rights to do this. It is also educational for those (to understand they can be filmed) and for the user, to help them understand their rights and learn more about this business. If people are reasonable, this is a WIN for everyone. These are businesses, open for public, you don't treat members of the public like that. Years ago I would have been like you, "oh this guys just looking to cause trouble" but he really isn't, listen to the discussion with the sales guy, he's trying to be informative. It's the same for all these auditors, change your perspective a bit and you will see this all differently.

OK, so as a first time viewer of this channel I’m going to go against the common sentiment. Admittedly I’ve skipped through quite a bit of this but watched about 30-40 minutes and what happened outside the dealership was 100% wrong. However, why is everyone so supportive of the poster who was being totally combative inside? I think the first guy next to the BMW was being fairly reasonable and DJE was itching for it to escalate. I also don’t understand why it’s OK to film inside someone business even if it is accessible to the public. I get these kind of videos when it’s from the pavement or outside a building but I think it’s actually reasonable to ask DJE to stop filming.
I came to the comments expecting to see similar but everyone is on the posters side when, IMO, he actually behaved like a bit of a tool inside. Happy to be corrected 😊

Well the reason is because he is will within his rights to do this. It is also educational for those (to understand they can be filmed) and for the user, to help them understand their rights and learn more about this business. If people are reasonable, this is a WIN for everyone. These are businesses, open for public, you don't treat members of the public like that.
Years ago I would have been like you, "oh this guys just looking to cause trouble" but he really isn't, listen to the discussion with the sales guy, he's trying to be informative. It's the same for all these auditors, change your perspective a bit and you will see this all differently.
