InsertOregano yes look it up it’s a hilarious ad about the 2DS color swap. They say Luigi takes over for one day and messes up the system and everyone goes crazy but then they realize his mistake was a better look then they announce the color swap. I’ll find the link now its amazing

Color Splash was a complete commercial failure, hence nobody cares about this game anymore.

Haven’t nintendo done the “the game is done, but we’re holding on till the release” kinda thing before.
Most games are "finished" far before release
They probably do that often, because they're still waiting on final tests and certifications, or because they have a contract with shops; they've already arranged for physical copies to be available by that date, and agreed to not release digital copies until then.
They do it all the time. Every time you can pre-load a game before release, it means Nintendo has already finished it. The video makes it sound like this is unusual for Nintendo--it is not.

Almost perfect. If it was something related to leaking the game (not potentially destroying the 2DS) or at least something related to the Wii U, then it would be perfect. A screen designed to fill the frame of the computer seamlessly with a different message is more of what I would have in mind. Even keep all of the other details from the old computer screen (such as the emails to the side) in there as well, and no one would've noticed.
Until they are told later to not mislead anyone.

I remember when this happened the game files got put online and I had a modded Wii U so I just downloaded and ran them and managed to beat the game before it came out lol
i did this with super mario galaxy 2, downloaded it like 1-2 weeks before release and played on my modded wii.

I remember when the pilot episode of Supergirl leaked several months early, but under such suspicious circumstances that it was almost certainly an intentional leak to drive up interest.

It was illegally released against the original i.ps owners because it didn't meet standards. The company released it, the i.p holders got rightfully upset and it got pulled from the eshop. Now there's a lawsuit and the physical copies are all that's left. It's not a good game
Along with that, the game made the console run at maximum power. People thought it was a bitcoin miner but the game was just unoptimised and the developers sucked.

Honestly,they should of just let the game stay on the wii shop.
Stores would have probably gotten upset, since they can't sell a physical copy if someone downloaded it two weeks earlier. And if it was downloadable, those with physical preorders would just download it early and cancel the preorder.
And it's not like they can put out the game for sale (they probably don't have the shipment yet).

Well, i haven't played the game but i'm specifically refering that one direct, where they called it an action-adventure game.
I understood the irony and sarcasm in your comment. Nintendo trying to claim Color Splash as a "action adventure" game, but it acts like a RPG and plays like one with some puzzle elements. Nintendo clearly only said that just to give Color Splash a boost to standout different with a misguided lie.

This kind of stuff has happened to me (albeit on a much smaller scale) I had preordered SMM2, and got to play it a day early. when the 2.0 and 3.0 updates came out, I got to play those early too

"Much maligned game," in fairness, "Sticker Star" does have 4 stars on the Eshop, so apparently some must like it.
Abstracting it from its series, it's a decent experience. Most of the casual audience probably enjoyed it. It's the fans that don't really like it because it's not as good as the first few titles in the series.
Eshop reviews are unaccurate. Every Nintendo game gets a 5 stars rating on it.
Mist of the issues people had with the game were at the conceptual level, not liking the battle system. They'd thus be less likely to buy the game at all. And you can't rate what you don't buy.
In other words, the people who would like the game are more likely to buy it, so they'll give it a higher score.
@@TinyGuy97 This is also a good idea. Compare the game's with the other scores on the site. If most games have 5s, then a 4.0 average is a low score.

In connection with the first theory by Nikki (7:56) games tend to get 'pushed back' and end up being released later than it originally was. So Color Splash could have meant to be released earlier, but got pushed back (probably for an event or something since the game was finished), and they failed to change the release date for the download version.

This made me wonder: I remember about 2-3 weeks before the launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, several people had gained access to the leaked ISO or ROM (Idk which one it is) of the game and downloaded it onto their Switch, and streamed the game way earlier than Nintendo had wanted. I don't remember exactly how that happened, but hundreds of people were streaming the game live on TH-cam and Twitch, and that also led to multiple accounts getting banned.
Does anyone remember how that all happened?

Shops released the cartridge early and from then people just dumped the ROM and anyone could run it.
