Yes. It's just business. If you want to compete, you should pick up on the same tactics. Supply & demand; in order to supply, it's important to know the consumer's demands. Therefore, sales revolves around psychology and manipulation. Sad truth. Fight fire with fire; Be the bigger dog.

I’ve heard from an inside source that game x change has a policy that if they suspect a customer to be a flipper they will purposely pretend to not find the game… then put the game back out at a higher price

Definitely need more regular stores like those that aren’t Game Stop owned that sell retro games. Hated when game stop took over so many game retail stores. Then to find out out that game stop, to zero out their growing inventory, was razor blading most of the disc games people traded in to them. Certain games that people didn’t like, could’ve been loved by others. So many very good games that you can’t find ANYWHERE anymore bcuz game stop destroyed them. So to find stores like you do that have some hard to find gems is a Godsend.
I’ve been doing this for years and got about 3000+ games for my collection for free I sell trade then profit then buy for the collection then repeat and always get my money back in the end to go on bills totally worth it but takes hours of dedication patience and hard work.
It’s hilarious that Street Fighter Cross Tekken is appreciating in price b/c that game was maligned during its entire lifespan. You may remember this was one of the first “DLC on disk” controversies from that era.
Did you know you can still buy sealed copies of FF9 on Square Enix's website store for $19.99? Also Chrono Cross. They made so many copies of the Greatest Hits version that didn't sell, they still are liquidating stock to this day.

I've been in the Game X Change and the Half Price Books near the mall at least once or twice a month and have luckily only come across one or two instances where they couldn't find the disc.

Sucks. We used to have emotions a local Movie Exchange that also sold video games. But after Covid, they closed down. It sucks cause where I live, retro video game stores are few and far between. There's some that this lady told me at the auto parts store that I still need to check out but I tend to frequent Half Price Books which often times it's hard to get flips with them becuase they sell they're games at market value if not slightly higher then market value.
I have a question. He seems to determine market price by looking at a game price on amazon but a game with a price tag of 39$ on amazon doesn't mean it will actually be sold for that price. That's just the price the seller want. Am I missing something? I probably do.
What are final value fees for Amazon and eBay? I don't have a store on either. Would just be couple games here and there... What i found was Amazon was like 15% + $1.80 fee. I couldn't really find the eBay fees for video game category... Not sure if it's 12.2% or 14.55% or even maybe 9.35%(might just be if you have store🤷♂️)????

People are lucky to make $50-$75 on an XSX sale at this point in time. I guess people have finally reached the point where they figure, "Well, I've already waited this long so I'll wait longer." My point is that people complain about the, "scalpers" with consoles, with graphics cards, with shoes and cards yet this is overlooked and gets a pass. This guy even brags about it! I this exact thing but with comics at my LCS. I understand there are opportunities to make money reselling games. I found a wierd network disk sealed in box for playstation 3 for both the slim and fat model at goodwill today :) along with a bunch of orginal xbox games one game was in a block buster video case oh the memories of block buster :)
If they do it should be gradual, and I’ll adjust my purchasing accordingly as it does. Most of my inventory sells within a couple months so I rarely see drastic changes in that time. I do always try to keep my eye on prices for stuff I buy consistently though.

For me, the photographing, listing, and shipping is the actual work. Buying stuff to resell is the easy/fun part.
