The wheels spinning on the boards could always just be due to being on too tight. . or old ball bearings. As a former skater, sometimes you gotta mess with that stuff.
Where I live your best bet are yard/garage sales or Flea/antique stores because the Goodwill prices of items have risen since 2020 for some reason. Like the normal DVDs used to be $1 and the Blu-rays $2, but are now anywhere from $3 for DVDs and $5 for Blu-rays at the Goodwill. Also, they marked up just about everything else as well. I still go because you can still get some bargins, but I have better luck at sales and flea markets.
For some reason, lol. It's because of resellers. They know exactly what they have. They aren't in the market for the poor. Their rent must be higher too. Goodwill sucks.
Their higher because they now hire someone to check the selling price on Ebay before putting it on the shelf. Not every item but the valuable looking shit…lol
It's also become more fashionable to go thrift shopping. Around here, prices tend to rise and fall in cycles, which is also partly dependent on stock on hand...thrift stores purge their media sections, then raise prices on what they keep. As they build up more and more stock, they start selling for less because they want to get stuff off the shelves. I've noticed the same thing happens with plastic storage bins...I'll go in and see some (with the attached interlocking lid) for $3-$4, then come back a week later and even the bins that don't have a lid are $7, and the ones with a good lid are closer to $10. A lot of that stuff seems, around here, to depend heavily on the judgment of whoever was holding the price gun the day they put those items on the shelf. But we also have a lot of thrift stores around here (there are at least 9 within a half-hour drive of my apartment, plus some surplus/overstock clearinghouse stores and some consignment/antique stores, as well).
@@ThriftSchool Sector 9 are a really legit San Diego based longboard brand that's been around since the early 90s. And although that is a smaller sized longboard, it was in really good condition, and it's really cheap for $12. Their completes around that size retail for about $150 brand new, give or take.
Krypotonics is a Toys r Us brand board...Sector 9 is an actual board. If you look at the ply structure you'll see the press is completely different. Kryptonics using a cheap wood press while Sector 9's will have presses that have the grains going opposite each other.
@@ThriftSchool keep us updated on it! I usually don't bother thrifting skateboards because I'd imagine the sellthrough rate is slower than other items. As a skater myself I always had to feel the board on my feet plus I had this sense of loyalty for supporting your local skate shop. Most skaters are just looking for a cheap board though so I'm sure someone will be stoked to get a sector 9 at a discount.
I wash stuffed animals in the washing machine ALL the time! Even use some Shout on dirty spots. Just let them air dry and they normally turn out great!
The area of town makes a difference. Older areas could be a bust or good for vintage items (older people living there). The more effluent areas would have cleanest and most valuable.
This is what makes the prices go up. Eventually goodwill will start asking $10 for DVD and they will be stuck with them all for years til they go to the dump.
At least your Goodwills still have media!! All the ones in my county stopped carrying books and movies. I was going monthly and grabbing any movies I wanted to own a physical copy of.
I found a snow skate when I was picking through the dump when I was younger. I didnt know much about it but I knew it was worth money. I sold it for $75 locally only a couple days later, so I think even for $25 it could of been worth it to try to sell local!
just happened across this video. I use to sell stuff once in awhile but I’m more of a collector bc I was fortunate to do well in corporate sales early on in life Ive acquired a huge indoor climate controlled storage unit and a basement filled with nothing but incredible vintage pieces I started out with clothing 20 yrs ago and shortly after added collectibles. I now have literally tons of rare pieces, nos, aop, single stitch, nos, one off extremely rare items, vintage clothing mostly 50’s through late 90’s Nike,Starter,Pendleton,Levis,Dior,YSL,concert tees, incredible vintage sports SnapBack and trucker hat collection vintage movie posters and all the promo material and press kits that were given only to theater owners, lots of vintage watches, jewelry, sports cards, autographs, memorabilia, military items, very rare aviaton items, art, some mid century furniture pictures, paintings, toys ie Star Wars,GI Joe 60’s w accessories, video game consoles and games NES,SNES,N64,Atari,Sega,big collection of 1st edition sci fi paperback books from the 50’s and 60’s,some cool signs, glassware, ephemera, industrial lights, literally anything that caught my eye that I thought was neat, rare, or valuable. There’s no filler it’s all extremely hard to find stuff that took decades to acquire. There’s a lot more stuff it’s just hard to mention everything. Im looking to move back out to Las Vegas (I came back to Alabama during the pandemic to help with a close family member that has now died) If someone can get to Alabama I may be willing to sell it all and cash out. It’s never been picked through or even seen by anyone for that matter. If someone can come this week or next I can send pics of different items. I’m going to the Orange Bowl Dec. 29th and probably the national championship Jan. 8th so if I am gonna sell it would have to be prior to then. Sorry for such a long comment.
People in SF are about to do this but in department stores, and not even pay. Just walk out vlogging, "I just got all this stuff for FREE ya'll. They can't touch me!"
Interesting stuff. I used to know all the valuable VHS & DVDs, but over time they all dropped in value and it seems like no new high dollar items came along to replace them. There's advice, by the way -- if you do find good ones, sell them fast because a reissue might come out and make them worthless any time!!!

When I’ve heard of the Goodwill referred to in American media, I assumed it was an American parlance for all charity shops. I didn’t realise there was an actual chain just called Goodwill. In the UK, many charities have their own chain of high street stores that resell donations. Although the stores are staffed with volunteers and they get tax breaks, they don’t make a profit. They’re more about promoting the existence of the charity itself.
From Australia, first time seeing it as a a recommended video after watching Retro Gamer Girl, this is actually a good video that I watched. Good footage that looks live and virtual and makes me feel like I'm in the shop too

When you calculate how much effort and time goes into accumulating and selling these low ticket items seems counter productive. Am I missing something? Honest question
Sadly in my area the stores have raised their prices on media and have started to price some individual movies. Still worth waiting for them to hit the bins though as prices for media there have slightly raised due to the price per pound being raised.
I use to resell purses. I could find leather and designer bags for 10 cents to $1 each at my local thrift. Resell prices was amazing! Then the stores started pulling the good ones and pricing them as high as $30! Ruined my business.

I just don't see y'all getting some of the prices that y'all claim to be getting. Oh and just a little tip, I've been able sell my merch pretty much every weekend for over 30 years by not bragging and educating my competition about where I find it at, and or how much I paid for it. You ever find magic cards at Goodwill, and if so, are they just usually in the game section, or is the staff fairly knowledgeable these days and keeps them elsewhere?
I've got a large movie collection where everything is in excellent condition. Most of it was purchased during the Blu-ray/ HD-DVD war. If it was available in n a special release, directors cut, box set, or any other upgrade, I bought it. I still have my Toshiba Hybrid Blu-ray and HD-DVD player too.

I went to an estate sale in TN and they had a ton of cake pans, I think she did baking out of her home, decent pricing but being so big and thick, I passed. Had I of gotten them, how do you ship? Priority Boxes were too small.
I send them into amazon fba. But if I am shipping some on ebay, I just cut a box to size. They are kind of a pain to pack for ebay. But if you do it with the right amount of cardboard it should ship first class at just under 1 pound.

Yes going to have to save this video as it seems theirs no Amazon app that's going to help you shop faster!, i wouldn't know the value of any of these items just by looking at them, it years of experience looking at hundreds of Amazon products to know this, and thus we are here watching guy's like you teaching us!
It's no fucking mystery why prices are high. It's because of asshats like this guy, posting/bragging about how much money he makes.
Wow I was completely unaware of those Blu Ray prices. I'll be checking out the media section more often. Thanks for the tip!
Glad I could help! They are a little tough to find, but ive found them a few times over the years. They are out there!
Awesome! Good to know. I dont know much about longboards, but always learning
Yep, sector 9 is a decent long board brand for sure
Dude sector 9 was worth $120
@@ThriftSchool keep us updated on it! I usually don't bother thrifting skateboards because I'd imagine the sellthrough rate is slower than other items. As a skater myself I always had to feel the board on my feet plus I had this sense of loyalty for supporting your local skate shop. Most skaters are just looking for a cheap board though so I'm sure someone will be stoked to get a sector 9 at a discount.
I wash stuffed animals in the washing machine ALL the time! Even use some Shout on dirty spots. Just let them air dry and they normally turn out great!
Shocked you found Dogma at Goodwill of all places. I sold a DVD one for $29 couple years ago found at swap meet @ $2
The chicken plush is called heihei from Moana. I've sold before for £20, not sure if it still holds value but may be one for next time
good to know. Thanks!
Finding good stuff at goodwill is highly region specific. Where i live, finding good things is extremely rare 🙂
The area of town makes a difference.
Older areas could be a bust or good for vintage items (older people living there).
The more effluent areas would have cleanest and most valuable.
@@hulynchow8505 where I live, finding cool old stuff is non existent. Not even old PC games.
@@hulynchow8505Not in my affluent area. They're small, sometimes clean, and super expensive. Everything has been completely picked over.
This is what makes the prices go up. Eventually goodwill will start asking $10 for DVD and they will be stuck with them all for years til they go to the dump.
DVDs at my goodwill are usually 1 dollar or 2.
@@marccaselle8108 And getting dearer.
@@marccaselle8108$3.99-$5.99 is the average going price.
So glad you grabbed the snowsk8 !! Must have for every home in Lake Tahoe!!👌
Thats awesome! I can deff try locally
Dude sector 9 does great for resale
Why in the world would a Blu-ray of Free Willy be worth so much? Wtf 💀
They didnt make very many of them suprisingly. And it is out of print.
Supply and demand. Same reason anything in this world holds value.
@@BigDirtDawg who is demanding Free Willy? Are you high, bro? 😂😂

just happened across this video.
If I lived closer, I would totally check that out. It sounds great! Sadly im all the way in CT. Good luck!
People in SF are about to do this but in department stores, and not even pay. Just walk out vlogging, "I just got all this stuff for FREE ya'll. They can't touch me!"
lol. You ain’t lying
What is "vlogging?"
Interesting stuff. I used to know all the valuable VHS & DVDs, but over time they all dropped in value and it seems like no new high dollar items came along to replace them. There's advice, by the way -- if you do find good ones, sell them fast because a reissue might come out and make them worthless any time!!!
Got a nice chuckle with that thumbnail pointing at a DVD of bedazzled .. "Hola Juan, hola Esteban, dónde esta esa biblioteca? esa es la casa de mi tía, no gracias, soy alérgico a los crustaceos." 😂 love that movie
Lol! I love that movie also. Seen it a handful of times.
@@ThriftSchoolYou really, really need to see the original from the late 60s with Dudley Moore and Peter Cook and a young Raquel Welch plays Lust! Its a trip!
On no planet would Bedazzled be worth 100$.
In fact, you'd have to pay ME to take it
Lol. I love bedazzled
Just sold a Sealed Copy of Dogma I picked up for 83 cents in a 500+ piece Blu-ray lot I bought. Sold Dogma 2 days ago for $70 with Free Shipping and made a little over $50 on it. Also had Sealed copies of License to Drive and The Toy in this movie lot.
Like Oxfam?
What tool do you use to look things up? Can you recommend the best tool for thrift store & yard sales?
Amazon Seller app and Ebay app. Super simple
From Australia, first time seeing it as a a recommended video after watching Retro Gamer Girl, this is actually a good video that I watched. Good footage that looks live and virtual and makes me feel like I'm in the shop too
I always look for factory sealed copies. Dont matter what it is, if it's new factory sealed, you will make a few
bucks off it.
should have gotten the sector 9 board. i've heard stories of professionals using sector 9 boards. the reasoning being they are the only boards made of bamboo
When I first started watching this I thought "this guy is hi on something" then I looked up a Free Willy blu ray on eBay and I was like Whuuuuuttt????!!! Cheapest one was $195.00
Yup! I dont post anything fake here. Sometimes its just insane what certain items go for and I like to show people its possible.
Lmao ya go ahead buy em all see how well that works out for you lol
@@HldnTudix00 I'm not buying any of them, but they are definitely on eBay at those prices. crazy
Sector 9 is decent. I live in a beach town and would get like $60-80 for that. Krytonics is an old brand bought out by Wal Mart and are low end.
The second skateboard is a cruiser board. More practical if you wanted to do an Ollie and also good for cruising.
Yes. My Starbucks items take a long time to sell. Thinking of not grabbing them anymore.
I've never moved a Starbucks mug. I have moved Corelle, Harley Davidson, and hand-crafted stuff.
My Goodwill had 9 of the smaller table top Solo stoves for $7 dollars each. New in box. Flipped each of them for $95 plus shipping. If only that happened more often.
I swear every thrift store I go into plays "Sombodys watching Me" from Ghostbusters! It must be on the thrift store loop lol! Great suggestions in the vid! I lived in the US now in the UK so it will be interesting to see what things go for over here as my husband has a VAST cd collection that takes up an insane amount of space! Would be nice to see if there is value in it! ( he would not part with it unless there were big bucks involved!) New sub here! x
afaik, Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell was *not* in Ghostbusters. The theme song is Ghostbusters by Ray Parker, Jr.
What do you need the space for?
More stuff.
Records are worth it, not cd's.
Clothes at your goodwill is .99 and 1.99? Good lawd mines went up to 5.99 shirts and 8 bucks jeans😢😢😢😅
Yup ..that's cheap. Mine is worse.. and it's all 💩
Because of these kind of videos!
My GW, has NO Goodwill to it customer, ridiculous prices
Someone at Goodwill is going to watch videos like this and start charging crazy prices for movies, look at what happened with video games, they sell every game as if it was the holy grail of gaming.
Very true. The Goodwill where I live charges $1.99 for DVDs, $2.99 for Bluerays, and $5.99 per game no matter the title. Plus, the Goodwill use to offer 20% discount to active military/veterans every day. Now I only receive 15% on Tuesdays only.
@@wiseguy617 And now that Best Buy is going to stop selling physical media the rest of the retailers will probably follow suit, let's hope that won't make used games and movie prices explode.
I remember when one of the original Tarzan DVD was flipping for $80 daily. Found a few of them.
Theres dozens of tarzan movies.
Krypton is Skateboard is like $35 at Walmart. Sector nine are pretty expensive. Good find
Ive never seen such a beautiful GW
And I totally feel ya on Starbucks' mugs, they seem to take forever to move!! What state are you in, your store is fully loaded with so much!!! In Seattle the reseller market is so super over-saturated if you don't go daily you'll never find anything!! Also, "Samsara" in 8K?!?! Such an incredibly visually amazing doc! One of the most beautiful films!! Def watch at least the 1st few minutes, at least see the factory footage!!🤯🤯🤯
Have an old Bangkok Starbucks mug I wish someone would buy. 😢
Like the Starbucks mugs for my own use. So if I see them I pick them up for myselff only.
Hello 👋🏻 I am new to your channel 😊 was looking around and saw it. I enjoyed this video, it’s a little different than the ones I have watched. You are very good at showing clearly your finds and talking about them. I did subscribe and hit the notification bell so I should get your next video ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome! Glad to have you :) I try to post as often as I can, I hope you enjoy all the vids!
I'm new to this channel too, as an Aussie this channel has to be similar with style but different with content to Team Retro's game hunt videos by Retro Gamer Girl.
1994's "The Chase" (starring Charlie Sheen and Kristy Swanson) has not come to BD, and is going for up to $140 on eBay! Luckily I found it when it first came out and only paid $10 for mine. If you don't have it, you *need* to get it!

Good to know about cake pans!! I see them all the time.
The Wilton shape cake pans aren't worth picking up. You'll be lucky to get $5.00 for them. I used to decorate cakes & have some from the 70s. The only reason I would list them is to free up space.
@@j54lefty ok. Thanks
If you sell them on Amazon it can be great money. On ebay they are a slower item to sell. If you dont sell on Amazon, I'd recommend signing up
Your goodwill is nice, organized and clean... mine isn't and their prices are so high
I always like the GW's near me.I recently picked up a Never Used Nu-Wave oven w/all the accessories and booklets...Blue favorite color $19.99...👍
They do that because guys like this. These social media weirdos have ruined the market for everything everywhere
I use to resell purses. I could find leather and designer bags for 10 cents to $1 each at my local thrift. Resell prices was amazing!
Then the stores started pulling the good ones and pricing them as high as $30!
Ruined my business.
It's crazy how excited people get over making tiny amounts of money. The only way you make really good money on any of this stuff is if it's brand new in the box sealed......Goodwill is the one making the money.
Lmao false. Kid you wouldn’t know a thing about money. That hundred dollars in your button wallet you have saved since your birthday is all your gonna have for a good while so don’t spend it
Oh wow. Ive got a slew of dvds!! Whole seasons of some. Cant part with my Godzilla collection ☺ The real original ones. Not lousy remakes. Geez i cant part w some. Idk. Had no idea thier wanted on ebay. Thanks for info. 😊👍

You know what, that shit is crazy as hell. I've been a full time dumpster diver for over 30+ years, and sold pretty much everything in my local flea market. If I even tried to sell my movies and or collectables for even half of what y'all are asking, I'd be laughed at, joked on, and would probably end up going home broke as hell. I just don't see y'all getting some of the prices that y'all claim to be getting. Oh and just a little tip, I've been able sell my merch pretty much every weekend for over 30 years by not bragging and educating my competition about where I find it at, and or how much I paid for it. I mean I'm not trying to be a smart ass or anything. I mean if that's how make your hustle, more power to you.
@@stevenbryant9097I agree, can't sell sh..t where I live. I did just buy approximately 2,500 DVDs for $500. I guess I'm a millionaire !!! 😂
Just curious- i looked up those cake pans. How do sell them for $30 a pan when ebay and other online resell sites have several for under $5 and new they are only $15-25?
On amazon items sell for a bit more. I did recently sell a cookie monster one on ebay for $18 and it shipped first class for about $5. Its worth it if you are grabbing the. For $1 each

Love the vids! I'm trying to sell blu-ray/DVDs on Amazon. How do I bypass submitting a purchase invoice for my movies?
I've got a large movie collection where everything is in excellent condition. Most of it was purchased during the Blu-ray/ HD-DVD war. If it was available in n a special release, directors cut, box set, or any other upgrade, I bought it. I still have my Toshiba Hybrid Blu-ray and HD-DVD player too.

I find it funny that every Goodwill media/dvd section- no matter where you go- will always have close to like 80% the same titles. It's wild.
I've been hearing for years now that most young people really aren't into collecting- (I'm 70 and was always fascinated by old radios, drag racing magazines, etc) Do you find this to be true? Seems a shame that so many things will end up in landfills
Old classic horror movies like Friday the 13th sell good .
