I upgraded to the 2 tb WD black sn850 when it was on sale for $207 a couple weeks ago!!! Best choice ever. Sold my used 1tb to my buddy for 100 bucks to help cover the cost!
It's the same drive as any other SN850. If the "Officially Licensed" version is cheaper, buy it, if it isn't then get the cheaper SN850 with the pre-installed heatsink. From what I am seeing online though, you are probably paying $20 more just to have the Playstation logo on the product box. Obviously with online pricing and availability prices are going to fluctuate though.
just ordered the official ps5 WD black SN850 2TB today from Best Buy original $360 on sale for $219 on 24 hour flash sale glad I came across it definitely need this upgrade with the big game downloads now a days!
Its faster than my internal storage, i thought 1tb will not be enough considering the game sizes today, but its good for me. It encourages to have less backlogs somehow.
I got my PS5 on Monday. I might buy the SSD in the future but currently I’ll try to manage with the internal SSD. Because I don’t feel like spending another few hundred bucks just yet. In my country (India), PS5 costs ₹50,000 ($650) so yeah, I might just wait for a few months till the next upgrade.
Sucks when you go to do this and the first screw you take out is fine but when you do the one with the spacer it’s all stripped badly that you can’t even get a grip of it so can’t even get it out
I just caught a deal from Best Buy ( Black Friday sale ) …. I went 2tb I’m not even gonna waste my time with 1 because I play cod 2k warzone and gta I definitely need it 😂
Gotta make sure the specific one you order has a heatsink. There's other versions of the same one without a heatsink. Although you can always buy a heatsink separately which is about $10 if you do happen to get a non-heatsink version for cheaper.
@@silverfox9843 SSD are expensive in the UK i got my 2tb Samsung 980 pro in the sale, now its almost £300. its enough storage no need to expand again. i was lucky, can install many games now with out the worry of space.happy new year.
Upgrading the storage is absolutely essential personally I got a 4tb and it is awesome I got the Seagate FireCuda it's by far the fastest even faster than the original PS5 drive and I never have to worry about not having enough space for future games it's well worth the investment
@@Arktaris1 no way, that's a waste of a time and annoying I rather have all my games installed and playing whenever I feel like playing them and not go through an annoying process. The peace of mind is worth it
@@Macktubehow does this impact the ps5? Does it make it load games and download games faster only? Or does it also improve like fps games performance ?

Yeah - exact same as the normal SN850 with the heatsink.
No real reason to get this 'officially licensed' version.
No difference.
so when u upgrade to the 1tb do u still have the extra 800gb that the playstation comes with?

Sony needs to bring back the memory cards.
That’s a polite way of calling us both old. Lmao!

So does the heat sink also help with the speed of which the game operates. Generally speaking, online play. Does it help prevent delays or lags?

I had a 1tb for like a week then started to realize in the long run it won’t be enough so I sold it and got a 2tb
Does this automatically come with heat sink or do you need to make sure you say to include heat sink when you order it? Thanks

Is the 850p worth it?
ThankS buddy
considering this 1tb or 2tb ???
