Have you made a video on Showing people how to get much faster, stable, and reliable Internet Connection with the PS4 and PS5 by enabling Port Forwarding in their Router settings and also experimenting with their Primary and Secondary DNS IPs.. It insane how big a a difference it makes for nearly everyone. If anybody doesn't know about this, look into it. I play GT7 alot and so just adding all of Sonys Internet Ports to my router plus adding Gran Turismo 7's Ports, It was night and day. Port forwarding laser focuses on what your connecting to and gives your router and much faster, solid, more bandwidth connection. There is Ports to add just for the PlayStation and Most Games have their own Port numbers so dont forget to add to your Router Lists.
depends on your situation or sure. If waiting a little bit to transfer games from an External 550mb/s SATA SSD, than id go for a 2GB for $75-80. If you are playing alot of games and dont want to wait, and have the extra money. Than I hoped you grabbed an NVME M.2 one from Black Friday since the 1TB are back up to $120-140. Thats 1/2 the storage of a SATA SSD and usually half the cost. Than thirdly, if you have a big PS4 Library Id get like a 4TB SSD since PS$ games dont really benefit from the NVME speeds. There is a million reasons why an how they should upgrade their PS5 storage and its all relative to their reasons and financial situations. Personally, Im using a 2TB SSD Drive I had before the PS5 even launched for my extra storage at the moment. I just bought a 10$ USB 3.2 Gen 1 Enclosure online for it so it works as an external. I dont play more than a few games at a time and have 25+ games and 1000+ photos from Gran turismo Sport and GT7. Still room to spare. Ill get an 2TB NVME once PCI 5x Comes out and drops these PCI 4x ones down like crazy. 2.5' SATA SSDs and HDD Disk drives have hit there price walls these last 2 years and wont get any cheaper no matter how far into the future we go.
When Using Sonya Benchmark to test SSD drives speeds, They uses a different method to test and how the Read/Write speeds of the drive installed. So when compared to the numbers most companies advertise, Sony benchmark shows lower speeds and easily can fall below their Requirement, even though the advertised speeds online look to be enough. Not sure what sonys benchmark is based off but its differnt the the PC markets testing methodology. Most should look into it, for sure.
After viewing your video this morning, I got stressed up because I ordered an MP600 Pro LPX 2 days ago. Then looked again at other reviews, and they were all positives. It arrived about 20 minutes ago, installed it, and it took about 4 minutes to move 290GB of games on it. I’m guessing you have a defective unit, or you dumped static electricity in it while installing it, or something like that.
He used different PS5s to do these tests...very unscientific. I'd like to know if he tried the MP600 in a different PS5, or if he tried a different SSD in the PS5 he used the MP600 in. Some trouble shooting steps need to be done. Buy another MP600 and try that. Otherwise his recommendations are worthless.
Yeah I got the 4TB in my Ps5 andI moved 10 games from the Ps5 SSD to the MP600 PRO LPX in around 15 min. This test was not really scientifically correct though, you can safely buy the Corsair version it has the best result when stress tested online.
These drives have dropped significantly recently. 2tb WD 850x is 179, and the one in video is 199 for 2tb. Samsung 950 is 179. The WDX claims to have 6600 write speed and the one on the video is 5000 so idk why the X is 20 cheaper. But now you can get 2tb for less than 200 which is awesome.

lol, I remember when I was told I would never use 1TB of storage. It is so funny thinking about what people thought they knew what was happening with electronics to what the reality is.
Download testing depends on more than only your internet speed. One game can go faster than another. GTA V (90GB) was done in 15 minutes, it went just over 100 MB/S while the CoD update went at about 80. I have a 1 gb/s internet speed. I've got it wired. If you really want to test a download on different consoles, do it wired, same game and not at the same time. Transfer GTA to the SSD was Fast af, i have the WD Black SN850X 2TB.
the 7000+ speeds are not false advertising, it's just the PS5, plug it into any gen 4 PC and you'll get the full speed. Also this test is pretty useless considering there's nothing about actual gameplay just transfering files.
How is that useless? That's a better test than games generally. For the most part games will typically not saturate the full bandwidth of these drives which would make the tests all have way more similar results than transferring files which tests their actual capability in a more meaningful way.
Cause it's the ps5 thats writing to the drive the ssd can handle something that writes up to 7000mbs so no matter what drive u use it's guna be basically the same
I'm not spending hundreds of dollars for storage on top of $500 for console. I use a 256gb stick for extra storage but I'd rather just delete games I'm not playing and downloads ones I want to play rather than spend $200 just to have games sitting on my console that I'm not playing.
These corsair mp600 ssd's are known to have the phison e-16 memory controllers on them. If you buy an ssd for any internal drive either for ps5 or PC make sure it has a phison e-18 controller and check what the iops are on the drive as well.

I think the problem you are having is access rate speeds. Any external drive is going to be limited by the bus speed of the USB port. USB access rate on the PS5 is SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps. But this does not apply to the front USB A port on the PS5. The USB C port on the front and both USB ports on the back are the SuperSpeed USB ports. The Front USB A port is only 1.5 MBps. The internet download rates are always the problem when attempting to test time trials. Using the same equipment, your time can vary. Why? Net storms, line quality degradation, different download locations, too many to list. With Sony, you have servers scattered around the country so the distance from you is as short as possible. But, if a node has high traffic, you might be shifted to the next location which throws a bunch of extra dynamics into the ball. Added distance along with the possible problems for all the connection points along that distance can turn a 15 minute download into a 3 hour affair.
@@tomburnham6640 i dunno what you are on about. He is using a usb cable plugging into the usb port on a ps5. Standard usb is rated at 1.5mb transfer rates. His tests showed this. The drive is rated for higher transfer rates but was being limited to 5gb.
@@OGSomeOne You are wrong, there are 7 connections. There is also an M.2 Gen 4 PCIe expansion slot that is required to play PS5 games not stored on the built-in (soldered on) storage. This is located under the bottom or right hand (when the console is vertical) side plate. If you look at 5:49 above where it says 1.541GB you'll see a cylindrical icon and 'M.2' on top of it, meaning it's in the PCIe slot. Also, the USB A ports on the back are 10GB/s not 5GB/s. However this does not actually mean they transfer 10GB of data per second, the effective speed is actually around 1000MB/s or 1200MB/s depending on if they are Gen 1x2 or Gen 2. I have the Samsung 980 Pro 2tb and it's great. Highly recommend. I liked it so much on my PS5 I bought another one for my PC.
I have the Corsair MP600 PRO LPX 2TB and transferring over my 400GB worth of games from console to the NVMe took less than 20 minutes. I encountered no issues. You probably had a lemon unit to test with on video.
Ugh. Seagates are the only drives I've had that fail. Like, no worky, stop loading everything, break my PC level failures.
I have the corsair for the last 2 months, no issues, read speed of 6538 mb/s. The box was a different than the one you have and it's ps5 compatible. Must have a defective one.
No issues for me either, the box for mine was black and yellow.
I have corsair 4TB no problem so far. Got it from egg website and 5 year warranty from corsair website with proof of receipt ..
Yup! Works absolutely great for me as well 💯👍❗
I just installed the 1tb one in mine, same speed, works fine.
I've had my PS5 since a month after launch, and in all that time, I never once had an issue with storage. I have an extremely fast Internet connection, so, when I do download a game, it takes less than 15 minutes to download 95% of all games.
I'm kinda in the same park. I mean I do understand people who want to install a 1TB SSD because they have big games and play many back to back or if they share the console.
But then some guys come and install 2 or even 4 terabytes and I'm like WTF dude, I live in a country where internet service is not specially amazing and almost any game take less than half an hour to download, most under 20 minutes.
@@AlejandroLZuvic yea sweet. And when the PS5 store goes down and you can’t download your games anymore like soon on ps3 or the 3ds maybe you’ll figure it out.

I currently have a Seagate Game Drive M.2, 1tb that i bought for my PS5 ($157 w/ tax). 7300 MBPS read and 6000 MBPS write speed. Ive had it in my PS5 for a few weeks (PS5 is only about 3-4 weeks old anyways) and so far I'm happy with it. I dont plan on buying many games for my PS5 currently, maybe 10 max, but i dont want to be having to delete files like i did on the PS4 to do updates or play new games. If i need more space, then I'll probably just get a 2 or even a 4 TB ssd for it. I dont think that will happen, but being the PS5 has had many things to slow its sales like the microchip shortage as well as just Covid in general, game development probably hasnt gone into full swing yet. Personally the peak gaming for me was during PS3 as i have probably over 100 games for it while ps4 has something like 25 tops. So far i have 2 games for my PS5 and one on the way.
IGN and Tom's Hardware reviewed most of these drives, the Corsair MP600 LPX is one or the best drives you can get for your cash, down speed at 5.5 or 5.8 really doesn't matter you won't feel it.
_The ads edited into that data transfer speed countdown caught me by surprise, the anxiety almost made me skip 🙄_
Thanks for the video!! I literally just found the 2TB Firecuda for $240 on sale! and I just got a PS5 too! SUPER excited to check out Sony's next-gen gaming!!!
Corsair MP600 Pro LPX is the best bang for the buck.
I bought the corsair 2tb for $130 and works great for me even found a vented ssd cover
Nothing beat 0.1 second that faster there is
Of course I watch this AFTER I bought the mp600
I bought the 2 TB Western Digital Black sn850 SSD because one of the main engineers of the PS5 recommended it. I have had a Seagate HDD corrupt itself on my first PS4 and gaming laptop that I'm actively avoiding them forever.
It literally just took me 15 seconds to transfer Ghost Wire Tokyo to my Corsair MP600.
I have the WD Black 2T. Works great.
Same here no issues
WD black 4tb and I have practically forgotten about it.
It's the external HD though
It's a great drive.
Me too. only did a little bit of research when making my decision to go with it. I could care less about saving "a minute" on installs.
@@John_M_B You would have to do at least 3 downloads to get an accurate average. every download is different. Depends on internet traffic at the time.

Corsair 2tb for the win in my experience. $120
it doesn't matter which of these SSD M.2 you go with at the end of the day what really matters when gaming is LOADING TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah not a very good experiment video. The mp600 is the most highly recommended ssd for the PS5 in peer reviews. I absolutely love mine
Yeah I got the 4TB in my Ps5 andI moved 10 games from the Ps5 SSD to the MP600 PRO LPX in around 15 min. This test was not really scientifically correct though, you can safely buy the Corsair version it has the best result when stress tested online.
Either way you win because any one of these ssd's are going to be better then just the console. 🤷♂️
Now It really has dropped. At least the Samsung has, I just bought the 1tb for $89 at Best buy.
The wd 1tb is $59 now and the 2tb is ibelieve $129
I came up on one of your videos by total accident while looking for something I think it was unrelated to the actual topic that you end up talking about but anyway my point is I enjoyed that video so much that I am giving you all the thumbs up I'm subscribing and you just make really good content man even though I wasn't 100% sure what the content was about at first I think I get the hang of it now and I'm also obsessed with you PlayStation and I just got a PS5 so I'm all in good job keep doing what you doing it's always work
lol, I remember when I was told I would never use 1TB of storage. It is so funny thinking about what people thought they knew what was happening with electronics to what the reality is.
A real test between drives would be how hot and the life span.......
My Nextorage 1Tb for $90 is killing it. Haven't had any problems in the four months since I installed it
Download testing depends on more than only your internet speed.
I didn't even know what an ssd was before this video, now I can teach a class.
the 7000+ speeds are not false advertising, it's just the PS5, plug it into any gen 4 PC and you'll get the full speed.
Got the 2 TB Corsair mp600 and have had no issues I couldn't even tell anything was different
Now's the time to get the Samsung 980, I just bought it at Best buy for $89. Definitely worth the investment.

He is not using USB ports. He is using the M.2 PCIe expansion slot.
@@tomburnham6640 i dunno what you are on about. He is using a usb cable plugging into the usb port on a ps5. There are only 6 types of connections on the ps5. 2 high speed usb A ports on the back. 1 USB C port on the front. 1 USB A port (not the high speed variant) on the front. 1 HDMI port. 1 ethernet port. 1 power port. high speed and usb c are rated at 5 gb transfer rates.
Maybe research stuff before commenting...
@@tomburnham6640 sony claims they are 10gb. the standard is 5gb. imo, they might be 10gb but standard is 5gb so the limitation is on the box where they external drive is stored.
