I bought this and I installed it in my PlayStation 5 .. what do I do after I install it I turned on my system and I don't see any extra storage anywhere is there something I have to do
*SOLVED the spacer was needed readjusting.* I already got a new drive and the connection seems fine. Are there any other problems that could be causing this? Our first one was detected but couldn't format fully.

i just bought wd sn850x and install pcie 4 port, but when i transfer data hard disk to nvmv sn 850x ssd data transfer only 115-120 mbps speed.. if i check speed on crystalcinebench its show 7000mbps read or 6900 write.. dont know where is the problem. can you tell me how to fix this issue ?? system i7 13700k mobo gigabyte z790 ud ax 9 (bios updated) 16 gb ddr5 5200mhz ram
With your ps5 on it's side make sure your ps5's disk drive face up. Then hold onto the top left corner and push to the right, so that the disk drive face place is moving right.
Your games are saved on your original SSD that is in your PS5 (as it comes from factory). If you add an additional SSD to expand your storage as I show in this video, then you can move games from your original PS5 storage to the expanded storage that you added following this guide.
So if i buy the WD - BLACK SN850X will it let me play ps4 and ps5 games because my external hard drive only allows me to play ps4 games. And will i be able to keep my external plugged in as i have the m.2 installed?
@@PABGamesso I just brought a brand spanking now ssd drive the second one might I add because the first one wasn’t being detected and now this one isn’t being detected but it worked the first time and when I put it in now there wiggle room for the ssd I have no I dead what to do I’ve tried everything

@@jakh5818 update 2 weeks later after returning the WD to the main store got my money back. Bought another one from Best Buy and it worked, week later it starting to act up. So I return it and I’m going to try different brand and see how that goes but I’m going to buy with warranty.
Yes! You can play games you store DIRECTLY from this ssd drive. 💜 it's not like an external hard drive in that aspect! I feel having to still put the game in the ps5 storage to play it and only able to be storage was so pointless.. like, buying more storage is usually because we don't got storage for more games on the ps5 itself. I was so mad when I found out after trying to use the external drive I got.. and I got 2 of them at once bc my husband and I both each have our own ps5... 🤣🙃💀💀 I'm super happy they came out with this option.. because imo, for the price of a ps5, and considering the memory games need just to start, not even bringing up the updates required to continue to play a game is a lot! Like a computer, installing, erasing, installing, erasing and so on, you don't actually delete it all. there's residual files every time you uninstall a game so eventually, there's gonna be NO room for ANY games. Unlike a computer you can't access that to truly delete the crap. 😂😂 should have come with much bigger storage amount than just over 0.6gb (the system files and such to set up the ps5 and account info uses a lot to start, taking almost half of what the ps5 starts with!! 😳😅 Sony kinda irked me on this shite (Sry this is long.. )

It might be a defective SSD or the connection is lose. Double check the connection, if not, try to replace the SSD and try a different one.

Hi there. Do you need to transfer data of the transferred game if you want to play it? Like when your using an external hard drive?
You can save room by transferring the games from the original PS5 SSD to this expansion SSD.

Yes, you can install PS4 and PS5 games on it. And yes you can still have the external drive connected via USB.

You can update the drive with the WD software to get the rated speed but you need a Windows PC to do it.
It doesn’t need an update when installing in the PS5.

A computer screwdriver kit like the Ifixit, will have the correct screw bit for M.2
