the flying doves with the bomb ACTUALLY appears in the game, its only a reference in the background and doesn't change gameplay but its referenced in the EOTL map. after this released, a full on update for TF2 was released giving players items and weapons inspired by EOTL, mainly cosemetics.

See what makes this hit close to home for a lot of the TF2 community is this came out at the 10 year anniversary for TF2 and in the comics we learn just how close the Heavy and Medic actually are as friends. They're not lovers, however the lengths these two characters will go to to save each other is incredible and the community has watched them bond over the years. Its also knowing what kind of characters they are too, seeing the medics look of defeat hits harder because he genuinely thought the only person he cared about in the entire world was dead. The reason he looked so defeated in this video is because he didn't want the heavy to do that, he knew it could work but it would be suicidal. He also knew the heavy is a gentle giant and would do it, so he acted cold and distant too
You should check out Lazy purple's How it feels to play series, start with the Spy video. Its fairly humorous, shows off how the classes play in game, and sometimes shows alternate weapons like the Direct Hit aka "scout begone" rocket launcher from his soldier video.

Man, I've been loving these TF2 reactions of SFM's and including the Meet the Team series as well, you've earned a sub for me for how much fun it is to watch your content with your enthusiastic reactions which reminds me of when I've first saw these SFM videos when I was a very young kid in school and would always play TF2 with friends I've made online. I know this has been recommended already but I'd highly suggest watching SFM videos from The Winglet, he has made a very unique cinematic-episodic series which is really something remarkable, also an old TF2 classic video that isn't SFM but more of an old-school Gmod type of animation is "Team Fabulous 2" by the creator named "Kitty0706", he was one of the pinnacle animators of TF2 and is loved by the community and unfortunately in 2015 he had passed away from leukemia. During some time in 2020, the TF2 community banded together and created an animated version called "Team Fabulous 2 Reanimated" to honor the great legend Kitty0706 and to also bring awareness to leukemia. It consisted of over 100 great animators and artists that've worked together to recreate this masterpiece which has been iconic to the TF2 fandom. Yet again, I'm grateful to see this great game still being brought to light by newcomers who found a new love in TF2 and can enjoy this great game and community in which it reminds me of my younger self who first discovered this game, thanks again for your videos and I'll be sure to tune in for the next one. :)

The plan with the doves carrying a bomb was BLU Pyro's plan, which at the start of the film got rejected by BLU Soldier in favour of the train full of bombs. You can see the various hand-drawn plans on the table, and the one with the doves is in crayons. When you play the in-game map cp_Snowplow you can actually see the flying bomb and the doves in the map's skybox as they slowly make their way towards RED base. There are also several hidden Yeti cardboard cutouts and other little Easter Eggs hidden "off-map" in the landscape beyond the battlespace, and in the skybox.

I got two recommendations that you can check out! The first is the Jungle Fury animation which was the latest official animation made a few years. My second recommendation would probably be the TF2 Lore in 15 minutes which recaps the official comics if your interested in the general lore of the game. But up to you to decide in all honesty. tf2 has had payload for longer than this update. this update just made this newish blended map that was like both payload and control point. "too confusing to new players" says valve. and it was never repeated. tf2 payloads are like 1/4 the size of an overwatch payload usually. but one map frontier does have a large payload that many people can stand on.

It was not where the Payload game mode originated though, that was a few years prior. When you play TF2 for the first time it will not be too familiar with the EOTL short unless you happen to go on a map that's similar to the setting of EOTL.

You should check out Lazy purple's How it feels to play series, start with the Spy video. Its fairly humorous, shows off how the classes play in game, and sometimes shows alternate weapons like the Direct Hit aka "scout begone" rocket launcher from his soldier video.
This is very similar to the payload mode, but it's not it, in payload, the players only push a small bomb cart. Also the game has cosmetics, that's why the blu soldier looks different

Man, I've been loving these TF2 reactions of SFM's and including the Meet the Team series as well, you've earned a sub for me for how much fun it is to watch your content with your enthusiastic reactions which reminds me of when I've first saw these SFM videos when I was a very young kid in school and would always play TF2 with friends I've made online. I really love your TF2 reactions as they provide me the joy of TF2 in which I haven't played the game in years because of my PC being downgraded so I would have to watch videos about it to give me somewhat a fulfilling experience to fill up my void I have of playing TF2. I know this has been recommended already but I'd highly suggest watching SFM videos from The Winglet, he has made a very unique cinematic-episodic series which is really something remarkable, also an old TF2 classic video that isn't SFM but more of an old-school Gmod type of animation is "Team Fabulous 2" by the creator named "Kitty0706", he was one of the pinnacle animators of TF2 and is loved by the community and unfortunately in 2015 he had passed away from leukemia. During some time in 2020, the TF2 community banded together and created an animated version called "Team Fabulous 2 Reanimated" to honor the great legend Kitty0706 and to also bring awareness to leukemia. It consisted of over 100 great animators and artists that've worked together to recreate this masterpiece which has been iconic to the TF2 fandom.
Yet again, I'm grateful to see this great game still being brought to light by newcomers who found a new love in TF2 and can enjoy this great game and community in which it reminds me of my younger self who first discovered this game, thanks again for your videos and I'll be sure to tune in for the next one. :)

"Pootis" is a reference to how in-game, you can use command voice lines. One of them is to ask the engineer to deploy a dispenser. And the heavy says "put dispenser here" but "put dispenser" sounds so close together that it sound like he says "pootis spencer"
in the scene where heavy was going to stop the train, heavy was not counting on the medic to help. also the uber charge makes you invincible, not stronger. so heavy tanked that train with his pure level of strength
The plan with the doves carrying a bomb was BLU Pyro's plan, which at the start of the film got rejected by BLU Soldier in favour of the train full of bombs. You can see the various hand-drawn plans on the table, and the one with the doves is in crayons.
When you play the in-game map cp_Snowplow you can actually see the flying bomb and the doves in the map's skybox as they slowly make their way towards RED base. There are also several hidden Yeti cardboard cutouts and other little Easter Eggs hidden "off-map" in the landscape beyond the battlespace, and in the skybox.

common version is "pootis pow", using the dispenser voice command in combination with the stock Melee's taunt (you saw it in meet the soldier right before the rocket hit the blue heavy).

I got two recommendations that you can check out! The first is the Jungle Fury animation which was the latest official animation made a few years. My second recommendation would probably be the TF2 Lore in 15 minutes which recaps the official comics if your interested in the general lore of the game. But up to you to decide in all honesty. "Pootis" is a meme made from a piece of heavy diologue. When Heavy requests a Dispenser from Engie, he says "Put dispenser here!" But it sounds more like "Pootispencer here!" And people cut it off before "pencer" part and that is where the meme came from. There even is a "Freak" from Freak Fortress (a sort of separate fan universe and game mode based off of tf2 character models) called "Pootis Bird" which is just a heavy acting like a bird saying "Poot" or "Pootis". Tf2 is full of inside jokes and memes created by the community.

tf2 has had payload for longer than this update. this update just made this newish blended map that was like both payload and control point. "too confusing to new players" says valve. and it was never repeated. tf2 payloads are like 1/4 the size of an overwatch payload usually. but one map frontier does have a large payload that many people can stand on.
yeah what they said, TF2 still has a bit of that turn-of-the-century Old School in it, they didn't have the tech for a *contextual* ping system back in '07 so instead you can use spare keys to pull up a 3-menu-deep list of tactical callouts voiced by whatever character you're using at the moment, so for example you can call out to push now, or to move to defend, or call out for engineer to put a dispenser at your position, and that last one with Heavy's thick russian accent "Put dispenser here!" comes out as "Pootispenser heeere!" and then when you spam that it's "pootis-- pootis-- pootis-- pootis--" and that became a whole thing.

To clear up what EOTL is: End of the Line was a Community-driven tf2 update in 2014. It added a few maps, weapons, cosmetics, and taunts (emotes). It was not where the Payload game mode originated though, that was a few years prior. When you play TF2 for the first time it will not be too familiar with the EOTL short unless you happen to go on a map that's similar to the setting of EOTL.
