Finally
An important part of TF2 lore that needs explanation is the war between Red and Blu. They have been fighting over worthless land for I think over 100 years. Soldier shot Blutarch because he and Redmond are the reason the respawn machines exist in the first place.

A lot of Spy’s unfortunate fate is the result of his own damn fault. From blowing up the car, to not realizing the ground and himself was soaked in gasoline when he threw his cigarette. His own hell was a circumstance of his own folly.

Its so cool how they implement some of the passive mechanics of the characters, like pyro being immune to afterburn and medic being able to passively regenerate hp

Soldier also manages to tank multiple instances of high kinetic trauma to himself, foremost the 2 explosions that detonate basically right next to him over the course of the film.
Soldier in this film is a lot different than the lead-poisoned maniac we know and love, in a good way. This guy is actually a war veteran.

Medic's pills were not replaced since he never taken the correct medication in the first place.
Few Lore Bits:
The Old Guys who were Red and Blu are brothers who have been in a never ending war with each other over pointless land. When Soldier sees Demo saying "Our True Enemy has yet to Reveal Themselves" They are what that's meant for. The Respawn Machine was built to extend their pointless war. With them dead the war ends. That's why Soldier shoots him.
When they mention the "Pregnancy Machine" during the phone call it's a reference to the official comic that exists online. The 2 brothers decided that since their war was never going to end the best thing to do was to make an Heir between the 2 of them. However since they were both men that obviously doesn't work. So they wanted to invent a Pregnancy Machine to aid them in doing this.
Medic in this has been shown to be able to regenerate his wounds rather then respawn. Almost as if he's respawning in place.
Unsure what else could need explaining but if anyone has questions I could try to answer (mainly about actual tf2 lore) if you want an explanation of the SFM look up the video "Emesis Blue Is A Masterpiece" which goes over all the VERY MANY references in this Movie.

Dell's bar is basically the respawn waiting room, where the mercs' souls go in between dying and respawning, idk why dell runs the place. The main plot point is that your soul spends an ungodly amount of time in that place, so that some of them start going insane and turning into monsters. Scout was actually laid off becasue he brain was getting smaller or smth like that (brain atrophy i think, its' explained during the crime scene in scout's house where soldier picks up the medical reports) his IQ getting lower. That ball in the briefcase is where the souls go btw, that's why everyone wants it. Blutarch and Redmann are two brothers who are basically fighting over ladn they inherited in New Mexico and so they hire the mercs to kill each other to claim the territory (official tf2 lore). Archbald isnt canon, he was a cut class i believe but here he assumed a diff role. Diazepam or emesis blue are the pills they prescribe to the mercs to combat the brain death but in classic american fashion they have 3 million side-effects lol. The part where soldier was in that hole with the bodies and then the bridge is apparently a refence to an old movie about a guy that goes to hell and is given the chance to either cross the bridge and go to heaven, stay at the level of hell he is rn or fall and go to the lowest level. Idk wtf is going with the time travel stuff, it makes absolutely 0 sense to me.

I think Dell is building his little oasis as the movie progresses. It's just the bar part when you first see it but it's a whole building at the end.

If lazy purple taught us something, is that the team that made emesis blue had to go through so much bullshit and nonsense trying to make sfm work and likely fix the glitches , and they did ,making probably the best sfm made to date

ouh my god. as a German i can tell that in minute 13:04 the girl in the movie actually spoke fluid German and really said that he will meak mincemeat out of him and the newspaper a few seconds after it was written in old German, saying: who is the killer?

They’re not blind, respawn just malfunctioned and spawned one of the brothers without eyes. Not sure if it’s the same for the other brother.

The reason why soldier killed Blutarch its because Redmond And Blutarch are the reason the war even started. Killing Blutarch would result in only Redmond being alive making the war end. Soldier killed him not only to stop the war but to also get revenge
The Respawn Machine: "It's eternity in there." It also explains how the same nine people can literally have clones of themselves on the same Team and/or fighting literal clones of themselves on the opposing Team. Nine people, over a dozen on each Team...Do the math. Then consider the short span of time between death & respawn...What kinds of thoughts, dreams, illusions, nightmares can besiege a mind without any external sensory input during that time, especially how the mind has the ability to dream your way throughout the entirely of time & space nearly instantly. Is it any wonder why Scout & Medic were having leftover nightmares & look like $#|+ due to lack of sleep since those times? It's eternity in there, *indeed!* This is why there also seems to be numerous instances of "deja vu" and/or time looping; It's eternity in there.
Then you add to that the fact that the Respawn Machine sometimes does not work perfectly...
The 'M' painted on various walls? It's also the 'M (1963)' as labeled on the VHS video tape Scout stole from Medic's office...
The monstrosities/zombies you've been seeing aren't from "experimentation" being kept secret. It's that the Respawn Machine has only a 99% success rate. What you've been seeing are what happens to some of the 1%...
References to Builder's League? That's "Builder's League Union," owned by Blutarch Mann & hires the "BLU" Team mercenaries. In case you're wondering, RED is the Reliable Excavation Demolition company, owned by Redmond Mann & hires the RED Team mercenaries. This probably makes more sense as you may remember the "RED Bread truck" at the beginning of Expiration Date & other similar references of both Teams plastered up in numerous places. That's how these things are linked together. There's also the long-lost brother, Gray Mann...A whole different story but you've probably seen him before, like in The Fedora Chronicles by Winglet...Specifically, The Red, The Blue, & the Ugly video in that series.
Archibald has more background history during the course of the movie but as far as the TF2 game goes, Valve originally modeled him to by the "10th Class." The Civilian that would only show up for "escort missions" where one Team would try to safely get him to the other side of the map while the other Team tried to kill him. That particular mission-type was scrapped but they still kept the model just in case they found a use for it in the future. It's also the model used to form the bobblehead we see sitting on the truck's dashboard in "Meet The Sniper."
Dell's Bar is in that place of Purgatory in between life & death. "Your brothers thought you were dead." Well, that's why he's here. Dell Conagher is better known as Engineer, one of the family that was hired by the Mann brothers to make those devices they wear on their backs, that keep them from dying of old age; Yes, Conagher's Slaughterhouse is run by the family of Engineers. Dell's Bar being in Purgatory is also why this is the only place we see Demoman with both eyes intact...It looks different from his normal right eye because it's merely a psychic memory left over from a time he was alive, but it takes a "physical form" of its own here. "It's eternity in there."

Let's see...The game has been active for over a decade by now. Two Respawn Machines on each map being used over who-knows-how-many online servers in constant use by an uncountable number of players who have been dying & killing each of the nine character classes during the whole time. There are quite a few unknown factors in this equation so we can only figure a very rough estimate. Even figuring only a 1% failure rate for each of the unknown number of Machines still means a lot of dead bodies over the span of so many years...Literally mountains of them. Well, that's what we're seeing in this scene, isn't it?
Agent Simmons addresses Soldier as Mr. Doe. Well, by canon lore, that is really Soldier's name; Mr. Jane Doe. No, this is not a typo...Jane Doe, not John Doe.

Since you don't watch horror, a lot of this probably went over your head. Especially the time-looping and all the weird stuff that happen for seemingly random reasons, it is a deliberate choice to show the character's reality falling apart and how difficult it is to tell what is actually happening. Sometimes there are absolutely no explanation or tell if certain scene is a genuine supernatural event or just the character actually just going insane.

In reality, the Conagher Slaughterhouse scenes are basically a Pyro and 2 Engis camping intel.
Since this is tf2, they don't got that much models to work on with, so some of the models need to be reused like 55:54, so don't worry if it gets confusing
also, I don't really know the details of emesis, but I do know of a possible reason of why medic seemingly never died
In game, medic is one of the only mercenaries with a passive ability, because he has passive regeneration at all times, allowing him to heal to full even with just 1 hp remaining, if he isn't dead, he will go back to full, and about the headshot.
Assuming this is the same as tf2 (heavy doubt) the only weapon capable of headshotting is the ambassador, which even a shot directly in the medic's face isn't enough to kill him, needs two shots at least without overheal to kill him.
Some people theorized for the reused models in the movie is that they’re clones of the Mercs, placed in specialized roles. Something like that.
And the pyros face when it Is shown is not the real pyros face, that is a corpse from half life, and the scary thing is, that's a real person's face, valve once used real burn victims for their models textures, valve employees got too grossed out that they started using other ways, but now you can say that you saw a real burn victims face 😅

Basically, scout and medivc are schizophrenics, soldier has ptsd, respawn machine makes monsters out of ppls. The bar where demoman went was actually a laboratory with broken sign. He went in met the dead engie (this film actually has a prequel called “spies disguise”) he met the engie engie said “relapse is a hell of a thing” he meant the stage between life and death. Meanwhile while demo was in relapse he actually froze in the lab. Same with medic in bar, relapse as he crashed. He saw conagher brothers (engineers he killed) and jules and the barman was the same engie like demo saw. Dell Conagher. Medic died. Mann brothers are still fighting, even after death. To understand a bit more about the broken respawn machine, you will have to watch the “Spies Disguise” its not prequel like prequel tho. Its something that actually somehow works together with emesis blue. Same film maker team etc, but old video. Youll get it.
Another thing u didnt notice, through out the film theres a lot of “its eternety in there” or “i saw the other side, its longer than you think” these are the lines that are told by the people who went through the RM but so ething went wrong. At the beginning, you can see the ‘soldier’ like character (you see him through out the whole film) hes called “the tenth class” he went through the worst. Thats why he didnt have eyes etc.then there is the plague doctor. This guy is suspected to be the soul of tenth class. My opinion is that the plague doctor is medic from the “future” just looking at what hes “accomplished”

Clearing up a few significant details will help with figuring out the rest of the film. @ChocolateKieran
Medic regularly suffers from hallucinations and delusions. A lot of the supernatural stuff that occurs while following him is not real, it is in his head. This includes the Respawn Machine ejecting a ton of blood when he tries to use it, the Plague Doctor at the beginning, etc.
Scout's mother was killed by Medic. Medic was not lucid at this time and is unaware of this. Scout's hallucination at the beginning (the mask whistling In The Hall of the Mountain King) was caused by him taking too much Emesis Blue. Emesis Blue itself is a diazepam-based drug, diazepam being a sedative used to treat anxiety, but which has severe side effects if taken in too high a dose.
The reason the Respawn Machine creates horrible monsters is also because of Emesis Blue. The way it normally works is that it stores how someone's body is assembled on a molecular level as a computer file, and then uses that file to reassemble them when they die. If that file is corrupted, the machine freaks out and can reassemble you incorrectly. This can range from just slightly off, like how Demoman is missing an arm and has bone visible yet seems completely fine, to fine physically but less so mentally like with the respawned Heavy, to horrible monstrosity like with Scout (that Scout monster being the same Scout from the beginning). If the Respawn Machine is attempting to store your physical form as data, and Emesis Blue is in your system, something about its chemical composition causes the stored data to corrupt, hence the monsters. This is why Medic seems so freaked out at the end when he realizes he just took Emesis Blue and not Valium while waiting to respawn.
Soldier never took Emesis Blue, so his file never corrupted at all. Jules Archibald, after finding out that soldier's file never corrupted, began cloning him to figure out why. Hence, the cryo lab.
Something notable about the respawn machine- You know how, in the crowbar scene, there's a red soldier there too? Those are the same soldier, just in different points of time (I think). On "the other side" in the "afterlife", time seems to function differently. That's why the medic can push over the tapes in the past after that already happened.
The suitcase is likely a portable respawn machine (perhaps similar to the ones in Mann Vs Machine), and it explains Medic being able to regenerate.
Dell's seems to be a place in-between life and death, and it seems that the mercs, while waiting to respawn, hang out at Dell's. (Dell Conagher is the Engineer)
EDIT: More on the respawn machine
All of the corpses you see after soldier fell are dead people that have been respawned. When Red and Blu fight, all the corpses go there.

I saw diffrent explanation of certain points.
- Respawning deteriorates one's mental health with Emesis Blue only slowing down the process. At certain point merc is fired and replace with fresh clone. This also explains having multiple versions of 1 mercs having diffrent jobs ans experience(as seen with scout on the funeral scene)
- Solder is the only one with experience in WW2 and loyal to the cause(according to this partical take on the TF2 universe), so it'd be no suprise for Archibalt to sell his clones to fight in conflics outside Gravel wars.
- Dell was killed in Spy's desgiuse and yes, they happen in the same universe. Perfectly expains the dark shift at the end
- Plauge doctor might be the 10-th class, or a one of the mercs intrested in taking down Helix and their machine
- Suitcase contains souls of the mercs
I'll add one more thing.
The plauge doctor is not a supernatural entity. Very few things in the movie are actually supernatural.
The plauge doctor is RED Medic, the same one with the stitched face that BLU medic fights later on. The idea is that these 2 where originally the same person, but now they're completely different.
RED Medic is a ruthless psychopath, while BLU medic is a (relatively) good man. The thing that takes over is shown quite on the nose through the eyes. His eyes shift between red and blue. The two souls that were originally one are merging and overlapping back and forth.
We actually saw the plauge doctor nearly pull the trigger to kill Spy, but changed his mind last second. This might be the good nature of BLU Medic influencing him the other way around.
Another solid proof is that BLU medic uses the same trick with the severed head to trick Sniper (that RED Medic used on Scout's mom). There is no way he could have known that trick. He literally had the same idea, because he's the same person, yet different.
The plauge doctor is 100% red medic. Also explains why Scout attacked him, he couldn't tell that they were different medics.
There's also tons of other evidence:
- The stolen hearse is burning outside the slaughterhouse, meaning the plauge doctor must be there. The only people we see in there are demoman, sniper, pyro, the two engis, Archibald, Mr X Heavy and Red Medic.
- When RED Medic is reviving Heavy in the recording, the date shown is Novemver 1st, meaning it must have happened just shortly before Blu Medic arrived at the scene.
- The fact that RED Medic is reviving the same Heavy that Soldier shot in the heart proves they're the same person. He must have (somehow...) dragged his giant carcass into the hearse after knocking out Spy, and before Solider arrived with the camera.
I doubt the plague doctor is the 10th class. The 10th class died in the respawn trials the same way scout did which is why the 4th test is shown with a massive amount of blood. He likely was thrown into the respawn machine after he shot himself while archibald was on the phone with blutarq. You can also see the ghost of him in a few scenes like the one where archibald and demo disappear and soldier stares at him in the dark, and also when soldier is about to rocket jump over the massive pit. I agree with the guy who said the plague doctor is the red medic, that lines things up really well.

the reason why medic healed when he was shot by the engineer is because he was wearing his medipack on his back, and the shotgun blast had put holes in it and the the healing fluid healed him, that's why in the next scene he had took it off

57:40 i'd like to point out that pyro's face is actually one of the Half Life 2 characters you see laying around in the main campaign but are usually known to be hobo's in most RP (roleplay) servers.. and let me tell you that face of that character model is from a man who was burnt to a crisp in real life... yes you read this right.. that face is from a person in real life and Valve put it into a game they took a picture of a burnt man's face and put it on a character model

little theory about what happened at dustbowl, if you watched their previous video named "Spy's disguise" you will know what happened.
to put simply, it was a video about Spy who's gone tired of his ability to cloak and always find out, especially by pyro. and then he found out to disguise as engineer's buildings.
engieneer, frustrated by this, shut down the respawn machine entirely, make everyone who's died cant respawn again.
They talk about dustbowl, but Spy's Disguise is set in Badwater Basin

Late but in my culture, dreaming about your teeth falling out means you're cursed to die by daylight or marked for death. If you ever get this dream you can avoid death by biting down the nearest tree branch or trunk you can find. Allegedly, the tree you bit would die by the morning. People who get this dream usually wakes up as soon as their teeth fell out

Some explanation:Dells bar is the place that some of them went to well waiting to be respawned and in the beginning when the guy says "it's eternity in there!" is because for them it is an infinite amount of time for them to respawn versus on the outside it's mere moments which is why the sniper said "You don't know how long i've been waiting for this. Longer than you think" because soldier was the one who killed him and sk he had to wait an eternity to try and get revenge.

plausible explanation for why medic came back to life so many times:
in the TF2 comics, medic sewed all of the mercs souls to his own in order to outsmart satan. perhaps he's using that to come back multiple times?

@@Sashimipommes there are definitely cases where that was true and helmets have been improved since back then the reason to use em without them protecting you from bullets is shrapnell from granades and other explosives

You know, despite how some could say his reaction feels stale, let's be honest, its literally the reaction we ALL had watching Emesis Blu for the first time, i didn't understand a thing from the ending until someone decided to explain it in a video, i can tell the reaction is genuine, as well as just not wanting a 2 hour long video, so he doesn't pause every so often to react, like earlier videos.
If I paused everytime I had questions to anaylse it'd be closer to three hours 😂 Yeah I still need A LOT of explanation on this, doesn't help i don't watch horror movies so I mised a lot of that context too, I appreciate that though!

The fact is that Archibald's model is the civilian from the TF2 mod called team fortress 2 classic as a scraped class from the original and the 2 tommy gun men that is firing at fritz from the church is the deathmatch mercenary from open fortress as an another TF2 mod

Guys...think about it...a few minutes before minutes 45:26 [before the portal for the front line 42:15 minute] the soldier open the door with the crowbar and throws the crowbar at someone in distance with a torch and goes away...when he finds the demoman he sees in the distance At minute 45:26 ..if im not wrong.. a person approaching a door with a crowbar in hand and then that person throws the crowbar at him and runs away..if you think about it, at that moment the soldier had... a torch ..so..it means that that person at minute 42:15 and 45:26 is the same soldier...Jesus, what a mental trip XD

Let me tell you the metal cover ways about 35-50kg depending on materials and usage of the street they are in. They can also be wedged in the socket. The ladders those manholes are shit made to support about 100kg often rusty and sometimes even broken. If you can just do this you are as lucky as winning the lottery 6 times in a row.

When a man dies in the Movie world he will come back to the Game world of TF2 & vice versa...
Little sub context is Friz Ludwig (Medic) & Dell Connager (Engine) are the two who made this all possible abit indirectly by working together...
Dell's family made the Technology & Friz canonically straight up outplayed the devil making him the current ruler of hell unless the devil can manage to claim all of his acquired souls...
Although fan made absolutely everything in this movie is consistent with actual in lore cannon for the TF2 game & Comics, effectively making it a canonical side story...
Whenever a Medic leaves hell he brings something back with him which is why at least 9 people died in order to be respawnd... (IE: Think of the Plague Doctor as Medic's true self going around & trying to claim life for himself)
But since the VA for Soldier is no longer with us IRL a part of Soldier must always remain in Limbo because out of the 9 his the closest one to having truly moved on...

Jeremy is scouts canon name scout is also canonically the youngest merc which makes the movie “m” make sense here (m is about a child murderer)
Tavish finnegan degroot is demomans canon name red demoman is also canonically best friends with blue soldier
Spy’s name is unknown spy is also canonically scouts father
Dell conagher is engineers canon name engineer also canonically has at least one brother
Mikhail is heavy’s canon name heavy is technically the tallest merc but not that big he’s 6’5
Jules archibald is not canon as far as I know and has the model of tf2 classics civilian class
Redmond Mann and Blutarch Mann are brothers who send out the mercenaries to fight eachother they also have another brother named Gray Mann who canonically killed both of them but he doesn’t appear here so …

Conagher slaughterhouse is not canon but seems to be a combination of various maps in tf2 with the outside looking like 2 fort
Model wise engineer does not have eyes underneath goggles but still moves his face to give off the illusion he does I don’t know if he canonically have eyes
Canonically there are duplicates of the mercs since I’ve seen all of red team and some of blue team in the official comics
The person with the plague doctor mask is probably another medic based on the model
The person with the white mask is probably pyro based on the model

Medic keeps respawning because of the brief case. It carries the respawn core. And since Fritz is around it CONSTANTLY he just keeps reviving.
Helmets aren’t made to stop bullets they were made to stop exploding debris from hitting soldiers and injuring their heads

I have evolved
The "face" used for pyro in this SFM isn't pyro's actual face. nobody knows what pyro's face looks like. what they used was the face from corpse01.mdl, a ragdoll in Half Life 2 which is notorious for using an actual photo of a real person's face which got blowtorched off.

I don't know if you noticed. What did the scout say at the beginning of the movie Emesis Blue? "Doctor, if someone hits you, you have to hit back twice, did you hear me?" he said. In one scene, the medic dies once again because of the spy (1 shot). Towards the end of the movie, when the medic comes out of the coffin, he shoots 2 shots
the moment when he said "this is so autistic" and not artistic and then proceeded to open his eyes in fear had me rollin, maybe is the fact that he speaks bri'ish and I might have heard soemthing else.

Alright, so to clarify, When Soldier met up with "Cyclops". We can see what is supposedly another Soldier in the distance. This happens to actually be US, but from the past, which is why the crowbar is thrown at us like earlier when Soldier threw a crowbar at himself.
