I have this camera and I like it a lot. It produces great images. I replaced the focusing screen so that I could better use it with manual focus vintage lenses. (The 5DIII focusing screen cannot be replaced). If you have this camera and you notice what looks like a 'light leak' across the top of the images, then it is because the shutter is starting to fail. The good news is that the shutter can be replaced with OEM parts for about $260. Then the camera is good to go for a long, long time.

I had two dream pro cameras. One is 1D Mark IV which I bought used two years ago with 42k shutter count. Couldn't be happier with it.
The other one is this one you are reviewing. Would love to have one for indoor shoots. Yet to find a good used one.
I'm DSLR forever. Convinced mirrorless cameras cannot beat these real cameras. Moreover, EVF lag of mirrorless cameras will always place DSLRs above them.
    Thank you for the video.

Great review. It's quite nice someone actually reviews these amazing cameras. I'm considering buying one. I wonder how some wildlife photos look like with this one and how the images differ or compare to those from the 1DX or even to the newer mirrorless.

i am using the 1DX and the 1Ds Mark II (not so much lately, there was after using it since 2018 finally too much dust on the sensor and I gave it for cleaning)...and now I am waiting for a 1Ds Mark III from Calumet to arrive, body looked very fine on the images, about 4000 actuations (they even had one with less than 1000 in store)...419 Euro.

Held one of these at Samy's camera last week. Heavy and built like a tank. Was priced at $749 which I thought was a bit high. Used to my mirrorless cameras which are so light. I do have a 5D classic which I love.

      Hi, Yes you can!

Yes and if needed, you can get the optional WiFi part and use it untethered (if you have to be remote).
