I’m 40 years old barely getting into car audio. Thanks for the schooling. Appreciate this so much.
Thank you for taking the time to teach those of us just learning how to properly install our audio systems. And the detail you take time to do are very helpful so don't worry about the time. Your doing a great service. Not all of us have the money to pay to have out system installed or fir me. I just want to learn how to do it myself and have another skill added to my skill set. Thanks a lot. And God Bless You!

Great video for first timers. You're gonna make me look good. I appreciate the video and the way you explained everything, it could not have been long enough in my book. Thanks man.
This was waay more in depth to me than even company videos like crutchfield lol love it man
thank you. im glad i could help
Thank you this helped a lot. And thanks for actually doing a short intro, and gettin right into it. you never get that anymore. 😂🙏🏼
Straight to the point man is how I like it. I just want to say what's up, subscribe if you like car audio, start the video😂🤣
@@jptheinstallguyQuestion, do I need a line out converter if I have a aftermarket head unit. Every site says its only if your using factory stereo... I have the alpine ilxw670.
Great video man. I’m doing my first sub/amp install in my car and your detail and explanations were well worth the extra time. Thanks brother.
Same! We appreciate you JP
My brother installed a system In my truck and now I'm hooked! I helped him a little bit. I never was into car audio systems but now I just ordered a new sub, I ordered door speakers and installed them myself. Now it's on To the back door speakers and I want to get another amp for my mids! So beware once you hear that bass 🔊 you will have a new hobby 😆
Thanks man. It wasn't too long I was learning the whole time
Great feedback. Thank you
I just wanted to say real quick GOOD LOOKS bro🤙🏼 your videos are nothing less than on point, TO THE point, and very thorough! Thanks for making it easy to understand, appreciate you💯
Been watching a bunch of your vids. I'll be hooking up a new stereo system in my truck soon and these have been super helpful. I'm sure I'll reference them during the install! Thanks!
I am as well, what are you running?
@@unspokenmajority3469 it's gonna be a Frankenstein system. Just different things I've acquired.
The head unit is a Pioneer DMH-160BT.
2 Alpine S-S65 door speakers.
1 Power Bass competition 10" sub.
Rockford Fosgate Prime R500X1D amp.
@@unspokenmajority3469 it's a small truck. Nissan Frontier.
@@unspokenmajority3469 how about you?
Excellent video only thing I would suggest is to use wire ferrules. They are a game changer and almost remove the possibility of shorts from stray wires at the amp
Yea man im trying to get my hands on some the have a super clean look
@@jptheinstallguy ebay is the place to shop
The video was not long bro.. i eagerly watched every bit of it!!
Great video. I wanted to add a little thing I use to fish wires through walls when installing individual lighted channel sign letters because even though I make my owns holes, sometimes I gotta push through insulation or go through several layers of material, and I have found that a survey flag wire is perfect. I buy them at Home Depot and get 100 for $10, but you only need one. It;s a stiff steel wire at 24", can be bent as needed, can push through quite a bit and just tape your wires to it when going around a corner or a tight spot and grab the tip on the other side. Then pull om through.
Thanks again for the video!
deadass the only video i needed to install my sub
For aftermarket radios, how do you hookup up the remote wire? I haven’t seen a straight forward video to explain where that hooks up to in the system
Based in 🇧🇼 ...u got the content mannn✅️🔥
Great job i like when installers at least have the right tool before they do an installation. Nice job and explained
I watched this whole video just because it was very entertaining.
Your videos are fire, you got a new subscriber!
Hey man I appreciate the video, I have two questions though. With the ground wire among the wiring kit, do I splice the ground wire to the power wire? And how do I make the positive and negative connection to the sub box itself?
If you reply between now and tomorrow, Ill subscribe to your channel.
nice jp just curious why no ferules on power n ground to amp great vid though
Hi JP a question for you I have a 4-channel amplifier that's two ohms minimum for ohms stable I have four 4 ohm tweeters 2 4ohm prv 5.25 mid range n 2 6.5 mid bass prv speakers can I install all of this in parallel on this four Channel amplifier without any problems thanks
When hooking the rcas to the stereo if it has rca connections because it’s an aftermarket deck it should just hook up to the speakers correct?
I wired everything correctly and I’m getting no output from the subs but the amp is green
what about emi from the main power cord? have you had any problems with other components connected to the main oem wires running along the floor on the passenger side?
HELP! when hooking up multiple amps. Do you connect all the remote wires from the amps to the single remote wire in the head unit?
Since your splicing into car harness, can you cut the ends of the rcas, or use a 9 wire instead of RCAs?
I have a 1999 suburban and for my rear speakers there is a factory amplifier that is pretty weak. When I turn up my head unit the mids and tweeted clip and distort. Should I bypass that factory amp ? Would it clean up the sound and also would it sound better if I bypass it and install an aftermarket 4 channel amp for my mids and tweets ? Also I installed my sub and sub amp and I ran the rca cable down the same side as my power wire. I used shielded rca cables so I wouldn’t get any interference. It worked out 👍
What wires or locations did you get your 12 volt constant and ground from on the LOC? (the yellow and black wire)
How or what did you wire the remote wires for LOC and amp???
I have 2 skinny wires wrapped with my ground and battery wire what are they? Ground is black battery is blue
Hey man maybe you help after installing a after market headunit (kenwood) with after market rear and front speakers , no subs no amps, my soeakers sound terrible worst than before, coukdnt even turn up without distortion, so i got a 4 channel amp to power those speakers and my front speakers are so quiet compared to the rear, its bad enoughy i have to turn the head unit volume damm near to 30 just to get some loadness cant harley hear anything at 15, but why is my front speakers so low
What do you charge for this installation? Front component speaker installation. I’m curious as to how ur able to make any profit while being this detail oriented for your installations.
Does this apply to newer cars. I know how to hook subs and an amp to older cars but I'm confused with newer vehicles than come with a factory sub an amp
Does this work even if I’m playing music from my phone?
And I have two speaker wires coming from the sub woofer and another wire what is that for?
I’m trying to get a decent set up for my 05 avalon, my budget is $250. Any suggestions? thanks.
Just the fact that you can do a whole install and record at the same time😤
What gauge speaker wire do you use between amp and sub box
That sub looks like a little beast i looked up its specs it can be mounted in a ported enclosure also and would have much more output prolly like 30% more or so ouput also some amps for the rca input u can run hi or low level thru the rca input on the amp kicker amps all do that and alot of other brands are doing this because u really want to run high level input at all times if u can u get better sq running high level since the signal isnt so small and need boosted so much introducing noise into ur system.
I’ve watched lost of different videos and got kinda confused but your video is very direct nice 👍🏾
Thanks man im just here to help
Im just a dope who read up on the resistance. Wiring to 1 ohm or 2 ohm or 4 ohm.
Basically 1 ohm is the loudest with the biggest boom. But its running wide open full blast at all times.
2 ohm is less and 4 ohm is what Im wiring mine for cos I dont care about huge booms, I listen to metal. 4OHMS will also be a more controlled response...better for fast bass like double bass drums.
Lastly, its a lot cheaper to wire at 1 ohm cos you can use a smaller amp.
4 ohms requires a much bigger amp but it runs a lot cooler than the 1 ohm. But, most people seem to run 1 ohm lol
I’m new to car audio… do anything change if my battery is located in the trunk??
@@BBHGeneral yeah you have it a lot easier to connect power
Hey i have the peugeot 307cc radio i mean the original peugeot radio and I can't find the right harness for it can you help me?
Thanks man! Just finished running the +wire and grounding and it got dark. I figure I look up more videos and after seeing yours I could of finished way sooner.
Lets say I had no choice to run power and rcas down the same side. Anything I can wrap the power cable in to prevent engine noise?
I did everything similar to this video everything thing has power, nothing is blown, but I'm not getting any sound from my sub. Any suggestions ??? I appreciate it
Hey I’m curious did you resolve the problem you had with your AMP???
@@ivoryheath6176You may need to sand more paint off the ground. Make sure wires are connected to the loc correctly. Make sure everything is in ur amp plugged in. Make sure stock sub stock speaker’s plugged in. Make sure amp is on.
Very useful step by step. The monologues were actually really helpful. Thanks!
hahaha , Thanks for a chuckle .. " waking up the the mos fits " ...
Why is my amp not coming on ? I know the red N black but there a orange wire just hanging there where does it go ?
Very very nice video! You answered all my questions!
When u touch the power wires for the amp and u see the spark thats the capacitors filling up with juice not the mosfets those do nothing untill the amp starts playing music and still dont arc if they do ur amp needs serviced. Im a amp repair tech located in Cincinnati Ohio.
is the loc mandatory ?
16:20 watching this and then it remind me of when my amp got took a week ago I’m glad they didn’t take my subs they couldn’t fit it through the back seat it’s better for me tho now I can upgrade
Keep up the good work !and thanks.!
I really good video I’m trying really hard to get in car audio
Awesome 👏🏾 thank you for this, I’m going to try
Video wasn’t king at all. Mad detail!!! Dope work!!! Thanks again!!!
Also is it better to wire your subs parallel? Bc I did the same thing but for 2 subs and 1 sub isn’t hitting as hard as the other.
Both subs should be wired together and parallel is a good option as long as your ohm load isn't to low for the amp
Liked and subscribed👍
I’m new to car audio… do anything change if my battery is located in the trunk??
Nope pretty much the same only you don't have an engine firewall to go through
Great video!
Great video
Great video thank you!
I gotta learn how to do this because installations places charge so much
I see you have a 80w converter, does it matter and why.
Yes and no if your car doesn't have a a factory amp or some sort of premium sound system you can use a basic loc honestly I didn't know this one handled that much watts but usually the ones with a remote turn on can handle a little more I'm making a video very soon about the loc in more depth so stay tuned
So glad my battery is already in trunk on this car
Ive never seen anybody wire the power wire without disconnecting the battery
😂😂😂
Nice video!
Ive mounted amps on sub boxes forever and have never had a problem. The way i see it the sub is vibrating everything on the car anyway so the amp will get vibration no matter what unless you mount on dynamat. Its not really a big deal if you have a quality amp
Thank you very much👍
What is engine noise?
Very helpful - thank you!
👍🏾😎👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Great video for me.🎶🎵🎵🎵🎶
The fact that you can record and pass the wire thru the firewall at the same time I know how it is🙏🏻😤
I’m getting confused with the wiring of the output device
Very helpful vid bless
The rage involved is making me pay for it before I break it all.
You spent more time talking about hooking the amp to the back of the seat and all the different reasons why and the Tessa tape then where the wire is needed to go on the actual amp! I have a Pioneer 1000 amp that I’m trying to hook up and it has a whole Lotta different connections. This is my first time frustrating
Beast!!!!
Check a million times😂😂😂😂
Can I pay you to do this
awesome
I feel cheerokeey
Bro I didn't see how you install the rca you jus plug on that shit with no orientation
🤩🤩👍👍
Just so you know you run power wires down the side of your car that has the battery on it and you run your RCA wires down the opposite side or else you'll pick up ground loop noise where your speakers play a whining sound every time I think of something to tell you to help you 2 minutes later you're saying the same thing I'm typing basically what I'm saying is you already know what I'm trying to tell you
Imagine you watched this videos to see where to connect what and is self explanatory.. lol
Be careful with that fusible link. If that power wire touches the wrong spot it will blow that link and it cost over 100 bucks from dealer
Thats why I taped it up good so it doesn't touch anything 😁
Yeah
14:08 EVEN MORE SuS
I still don’t understand 😔
10:50 SuS
I already know how to do this I’m just bored
Be very careful with that wire on that fusible link. If it touches a wrong spot, that link cost over 100 bucks
Bros so experienced but lazy asl😭

“You don’t wanna vibrate any components in here” mean while every all components in the car shaking from the subs
