    I once heard someone say, "You don't "cook" food in a wok, you "threaten" it! Seems about right. HIGH heat. I like your setup.

    Flo, your channel is reeeally changing my cooking. And I suspect long-term, it's definitely not feeling like a short-term novelty fad with me, but something that is fitting my older lifestyle extremely well. I reeeeally like the wok results I'm getting, and am eating so much healthier with it. So this is a note of many thank you'd because I'm so happy with your channel that I'm using it pretty exclusively to learn an entirely new-to-me way of cooking. You have some excellent content here and you are such an outstanding teacher. I've referred your channel to a number of other people, it is a wealth of info and technique. Thank you SO much.

    I made it and added hearts of palm with the beans- I chopped on small pieces and cooked together with the beans so that they were browned. It added a sweet tartness. I served it over rice. Perfect fast dinner!

    Flo darling - I'm learning so much from you so this is sent with affection and appreciation.....If you're grating ginger, just use the same microplane to grate the garlic too! Leave the nasty root end on as a little 'handle' so you don't waste any or grate your fingers.....but that's one less thing to wash up. And oh the joy of home grown beans! So easy to grow and SO much sweeter than store bought - plus the fun of feeling like a kid hunting for Easter eggs! Cheers from Australia!

    My dad took me to a chinese restaurant decades ago in lower Manhattan they closed few years later but I've been trying to find those string beans ever since no place came close I think this is it. thank you.

    • @breukelynbee77
      @breukelynbee77 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wasn't saying the dish itself was hard to find. It's been hard to find ones that tasted as good as the ones we had at that particular restaurant. I guess it makes you feel like you are better smarter superior than the next person that you have to insult someone on you tube over green beans? And what difference does it make what ethnicity or color I am? Did it ever occur to you that maybe I'm watching these videos from my hospital bed just trying make it thru enjoying flo and dude ? All negativity is contagious, unfortunate that you have chosen that path. Hope it brings you what you think it does, but keep living and you will see that you will experience more loss than gain than by being mean rude and disrespectful to others just because you can.

    • @FloLum
      @FloLum  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I banned the user who made the incredibly rude comment. So sorry you had to read that. I get comments like that ALL. THE. TIME. And as much as I try not to let it affect me, it still creeps in and ruins a little part of my day. I hope your day will be filled with more goodness and sweetness from this point on! 😊

    I have tried and tried doing a similar wok technique use frozen green beans and they come out soggy everytime, even if try shocking them in an ice bath afterwards. I think it's just that a frozen veg. getting thawed/cooked just loses structural integrity at the cell-wall level. I'll buy some fresh ones next time and try this out. So, you're restoring my faith that I may still be able to get this right.
