      Hope it's a good laptop. Check out Autodesk you can get full version of maya or 3ds max if you are a "student". Little secret you don't have to really be a in school to get it.

    awesome, I wonder if eventually you would be able to rotate .OBJ files in Designer, in the mean time how did you render the height map ?

    Man, I dont know much about designer, still gotta properly learn it, but I love how it lets you create this one node that will take your input and tile it in all sorts of way. Fucking awesome :D

    Hey great stuff man! I was just wondering if you could help me out, can i somehow use the model i`ve created in blender as an input for tile sampler or tile generator? Or the only way to do it is by transforming my obj into alpha like you did ?

    • @3dextrude
      @3dextrude  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you would need to render it as alpha/height to be able to use it. I don't believe you can use a model straight into a node.

    • @ДжоРоганфулл
      @ДжоРоганфулл 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3dextrude yeah right i figured this out, just used alpha. Do you know how to bake material with ambiet occlusion + normal + height+ roughnes for substance painter? i mean i`ve created the maps and i import them to substance but cant bake them together to create a material. I can however manually drag them into materials of the brush but there is no AO layer. I was just wondering if you could give me a tip.

    I love this, it's exactly the sort of thing I want to learn to create. Can anyone recommend good resources for learning substance designer from the beginning? I'm familiar with painter, but not designer.

    • @RailedRobin
      @RailedRobin 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is an official channel called "Substance" which goes through the basics and more, it's a great place to start. You learn the basics (duh) and also get a good idea how to do your own stuff. After that, look at more of 3dEx's and other's videos.

  • @ulkutuna

    Hello, I love this tutorial and tried to do it but the edges of the alpha I exported from zbrush look kind of low resolution when I increase the normal map value in substance designer(pixelated outer edges but rest of the map and details looks fine). How can I export very high resolution alpha from zbrush?

    • @3dextrude
      @3dextrude  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You can always increase the document size in zbrush, where you create new document you can also increase the size there. In Substance, make sure your maps are set to 16bit, this shows up under the node as L16. If any node is not set to that, click on it and in the parameters- output format- set to absolute and change to 16 bit
