I love the pausing, this is what I'm here for, I want some cool insight/comments from Chase (plus to see the excited air drumming) and to discover some new bands to rock to. So, Chase, keep on pausing and keep on rocking. Also, happy Birthday, Tom!
Don't dig the pauses, don't watch. Simple as that. Chase isn't here to solve your mental issues, peeps. He has more than enough people who love this channel and his reactions/reviews. Also, Happy Birthday to Tom Hardie! Don't know them but me likes female-fronted bands so thanks for this. Will check out more from them.
I'll be honest, first reaction I watched of his it was annoying the shit out of me. But I'm subscribed and I'm still here lol. Since in the end he's actually pausing for damn good reason. Like, granted, yes, it is his channel so he can pause as much as he wants. But he picks up on a lot of stuff that I probably couldn't. And I know because of his channel I feel like I have picked up on some things that he's mentioned in others songs.
"Fit For Rivals, Damage, let's see what you've got." *sweeps hair back* My dude's here got some swag. I think this one was from a decade ago. Man, it's been a while since I last heard from FFR after Freak Machine, and then Renee went to do her solo project.
I love the pauses, that is what makes your channel different and better than others, your calmness and pauses to explain stuff that I wouldn't notice for myself love your work :)
And another comment, @Chase, your reactions are seriously a Master Class in music. I learn so much from the nuances you point out and it’s training my ear to pick up and appreciate even more about what is musically happening. While this particular band isn’t really resonating with me, I still enjoy the listen with all you have brought to light in your reaction. So thanks!!!
Your pauses is one of the reasons I subscribed to your channel. I come from a more classical background, so I’m not as familiar with how good rock and metal music are crafted. I really like your analyses; they certainly help me to better understand what makes a particular song as good as it is. Your analyses help me to better appreciate these genres of music. I mean, I already do enjoy these genres, but your videos help me to appreciate them on an even deeper level. So, at least for me, your analyses really set your channel apart from other reaction channels; as far as I’m concerned your is very much a cut above other reaction channels.
If you hate the pauses, then just watch the original! I hate it when I have to wait too lóng for you to pause ;-) Those are the most interesting parts IMO.
Pauses are our life's blood!!! Happy B day Tom! Right away I'm thinking Joan Jett, in a GOOD way.And if you ask who Joan Jett is, I shall be VERY cross. I love Rock and Roll, put another dime in the jukebox baby! Loud, crisp, and crunch.
Happy Birthday, Tom! 🍻 Never heard of this band before but will check out more because Chase did solid. Only he can make fat breakdowns turn obese with all the pausings and we still stan him.
Very fun reaction. I love it when you spend time to emphasise the sections you enjoy. The pauses are what makes these a reaction, as opposed to just you watching the video. You mentioned on Twitter you would consider reacting to Press To MECO. I am really looking forward for that - It's my birthday 1st September, so if that is an impetus, then all the better ;)
Never head of that band before, like the song and appreciated your analysis. This is a bit of an oldie, but love to hear your analysis of Pendulum's "Watercolour" (live at Glastonbury 2011)
renee phoenix , the singer, was doing some solo stuff. her voice is very unique and fits nicely into a rockband. but I think they had some issues with a label in the past or difficulties releasing things. their first album came out in 2009 and they kept wanting to release music but not much happened until 2016 with their second album for big3 records. the new stuff is planned for 2020 on renees own label freak machine records, but still no news about anything yet.
👋🏻 Here for the pauses* *Actually, here for the insights and enhanced appreciation of the music that the pauses signal - but that wouldn't fit on a t-shirt.
Awesome 👍 glad you liked them, definitely check out Crash from them next I'd say... I get the feeling they have bands like The Distillers as significant influences among many others. Many thanks for making the day even better 👍 #Not40Yet
there is this band annisokay, i always liked them but now they dropped a new single called face the facts and i grew to love them within like 4 bars of thw main riff, i feel like you would enjoy that one too :)
So I'm sure someone has said it on one of your last couple of videos, but just in case someone hasn't since I hadn't gotten to check out the comments section on the last couple, here it goes. As if you didn't have enough to go through by then as it is, you now have even more music to check out from Unleash the Archers since they just came out with their new album on Friday. While personally I would suggest rapid firing off the rest of the songs from Apex first so you know what is going in with the story a bit better, if you are going to react to something from the new album, then Legacy, The Wind That Shapes the Land, Return to Me, and Carry the Flame would all be phenomenal places to start. But I'm just gonna repeat what even Brittney herself said. At some point you should listen to it start to finish, in order. Will really make the most sense that way.
Haven't heard them before - Nice. Got no problem with your commentary pauses at all, they are great - though I think maybe YT is playing with me - 5 advertisements.
I was so into this band a decade ago, and this made me realize how much I miss them. I think this was their biggest hit, but Crash was the better song, IMO. I would love to see Chase react to that banger!
I´ve never seen anyone complaining about the pauses, so thats no problem. I think this is one of the most "normal" metal songs you ever reacted to. I would really love to see when you react to a Tool song... and by the way I also had birthday a few weeks ago, so pleeeeeaaaase.... :-)
Hmm, new band for me aswell. Familiar sound indeed, I like it. With the bassline I'd say a little bit reminiscent (for me) of Poets of the Fall. That'd be a nice, yet another Finnish group, to react to.
I'm getting used to the palm-muting lesson and the amount of the word 'smart' being uttered in every video. Hey, wouldn't it be fun if you make a video on haters' comments? Rebecca Vocal Athlete made a song about it. Maybe you can do ASMR or throat singing. That'd be fun. Happy birthday to Tom! 🎂
Huh thats a surprise, for me this song is in the genre ‘i saw em on youtube and liked it, got the song on my ipod, then listened to the entire band stuff, loved it... and then it just phased out of my life...’ The pretty reckless - my medicine That is the same situation for me lol
Would love you reacting to some more Heilung - preferably LIFA live concert (Krigsgaldr is my fav, you can analyse all the instruments and different singing techniques). Its also visually very striking!
I enjoyed this song and band quite a bit. I will be checking more of them out. Another band to add to "Chase's Reaction Playlist". The list is getting quite long these days. Your input, like always, only helped me appreciate what they are doing in this song. Great reaction.
Yeah, I love the voice of Renee Phoenix since I first heard her back in the days! You should defenitely check out their songs Crash and Freak Machine. They showcase her voice even better.
Her voice reminded me of PJ Harvey at times, but as you pointed out, the music is more "functional" in order to give her a canvas than awe-inspiring. That's a pass for me. On another note, care to review something british of which Tom Morello alledgedly said "The Best Band you never heard of"? They are called Novatwins. They have only three MVs out (apparently they are more of a live band) , in increasing order of (super subjective) grittiness "Taxi" (th-cam.com/video/f3wehXImS50/w-d-xo.html) , "Vortex" (th-cam.com/video/BsJI_b2PTQY/w-d-xo.html) and "Devil's Face" (th-cam.com/video/7zi1W5IDM2g/w-d-xo.html). I think you might find them interesting and I'd love to hear your thoughts.
If you like complex progressive music with different styles mixed in perfectly, humor without silliness, one of the best drummers in the world then you should go for Between the Buried and Me - A Proverbial Bellow or Extremophile Elite You won't be disappointed
Considering the kind of music you keep reacting to I'm surprised you haven't picked up on Tool yet. Their Fear Inoculum album is my album of the year 2019. Not a bad track on that one and I guess best listened to in order, with a pair of great headphones and some focus time to spare. That said, their stuff from a decade ago is great as well in case you enjoy it and want a deep dive into where they're coming from.
Good solid nice to listen to track, quite liked it. 👍 ... Perhaps another to add to your ever growing list Conquer divide - Chemicals, an all female band and first new stuff for about 4 years apparently. Worth a listen to. 😉
Liked the pre-chorus and chorus, honestly verses seemed kind of repetitive and her vocals werent really there for me in the verses however the outro to the song she decided to add some more vocal colour at the end. Solid rock song but nothing too stand out for me.
Without the pauses it's not a reaction is it? Most of us are here for the reaction and not only the damn video. Regarding the video... it looked like Sarah Longfield so I got excited as fook.... a bit sad now
adds sucks most of the time but this time is was kind of funny at the start of the song "...you don't know anything about meeeee" [add/] "today i bought new mattress" [/add]
Im here for the pre-chorus and chorus but the verses are a little repetitive vocally. Now where is the Nekrogoblin at? And although not a reaction, it’s time to hit the ETID and He Is Legend catalogue. Just saying
Good music and Loved the chorus/bridge(?) But I was pretty underwhelmed by her vocals in the verses to be honest. To me she sounded bored. Onwards to the next one!

With Chase every pause actually counts. It actually is because he has something to add.
I'll be honest, first reaction I watched of his it was annoying the shit out of me. But I'm subscribed and I'm still here lol. Since in the end he's actually pausing for damn good reason. I love it dude when I'm up early on a Sunday morning here in Minnesota of the ol USA and getting your video notification! ☺️
@Todd Proctor, I feel the same way. Sunday morning here and looking forward to whatever Chase has to say because his reactions are the BEST!!!
Same buddy! I happen to be a quick walk in my back yard away from Proctor! :)
I love the pauses, that is what makes your channel different and better than others, your calmness and pauses to explain stuff that I wouldn't notice for myself love your work :)
Nice to finally see Fit For Rivals getting some love from music reactors
They're awesome.

Right! If I really like something I'll sometimes got right to the original straight after a reaction. It's not rocket science, people.

Joan Jett look, a bit of Lzzy Hale in the sound. Love strong female leads!
Happy Birthday, Tom! 🍻 Never heard of this band before but will check out more because Chase did solid. Only he can make fat breakdowns turn obese with all the pausings and we still stan him.
Yeah, I dig that. Tough message from the lyrics and video, but true to itself. Oh yeah, Happy Birthday Tom!
Just a good catchy song. Happy birthday to Tom! Have a damn good day!
When I heared this song for the first time, Hyves was in its primetime
I love Renee and her band, hear them really often. So happy about the reaction :D Hopefully u will the some more about them :)
Used to jam to this when it came out. Their sound has changed a lot since then if I remember correctly.
Awesome band, thanks for reacting!
Gosh, Chase, you're the best!
I didn't listen to them for years!!
Thanks Tom for pressing the Bithrday Button :D

I love this song! They also did one named Novocain that's still on my everyday playlist. Another Damn Good™ Reaction =)
You did a studio version several weeks ago. Now it's time for live :)
Heilung | LIFA - Krigsgaldr LIVE
Their best, I think. Do you agree ?
@@QazwerDave They are the best at what they're doing. It's awesome live to get the crowd moving.
