Just listen to her if you can't see her passion (I sure can). Tell me after just listening that it doesn't have passion. I'll be waiting. It's actually really easy to look bored when playing super technical stuff like this because you have to practice it so many times that by the time you can play it consistently live, it's about as boring and automatic as tying your shoes or brushing your teeth.
This girl is a MONSTER! She took a song that most people can't even play and made it heavier, not even looking at her fretboard most of the time! I hope she's still playing!
The fact that Herman is honest enough to admit that Tina killed it speaks for itself. She basically played both Herman and Sam's riff at the same time. That is incredible and people who play the guitar can explain it much better than me. Amazing performance.
She wasnt playing both riffs at the same time. She was splitting both riffs evenly basically to even it out. You can't play 2 solos at once. She combined parts of both and incorporated them into different segments. She didn't do both of their entire solos. Not taking anything away from her shes an amazing guitarist but not better than Herman li or a few others in the world rn.
@@dominicg3316 Agreed. You explained it a lot better than I did. That is what I was trying to say. True there's no way in a hot place she could play both at the same time.

Im orphan of Tina S videos😄, since 2016 when i first knew about her, and i got to her channel, right before she posted the megadeth - tornado of souls song, she was posting stuff yet, and i watched all her videos in a period of a week i guess, then she posted the moonlight sonata 3rd mov, everybody was hyped for her, but then she gone of the channel and all social medias... That's kinda sad, to not have such a great musician like her anymore, not even posting a single text, i really miss her hahah... But maybe this Herman Li video can be a hope for us to se her again? I want so bad to see her SHREDDING OUT the guitar again!
And the fact that she’s playing it, so calm, cool and collective like it’s just another day at the office and there’s even times during that solo when she’s ripping the fuck out of it she’s not even looking at the guitar and she’s also chewing gum while shredding and she was wet 15 when she made this I’m sorry, but that’s impressive. No matter what anybody says. She’s one of the best damn guitarist female that I’ve ever seen and she’s up there with some of the best male guitar players to and to say that and I’ve heard a lot of a guitar player shred and I know a lot about metal and I’ll tell you dude she’s very awesome to listen to.
For him to say that I believe he really means if he doesn’t wanna play that song anymore he knows who to call and you absolutely crushed it. I mean this girl shreds the guitar like I’ve never seen and I believe she was 15 in this video. my word, this girl can play.

Respect to Herman Li, both for his reaction, and how he reacts to "illegal" use of their right to the song. You are truly a great guitar hero and a icon to look up to! Cheers form Norway!
She said she stopped videos a couple years ago because of the lot of comments about passion blablabla :) People can't understand how the technic she's been showing when she was not even 16 at the time was so impressive :) Too bad we lost performance like that because of retarded comments :(
If Herman can get Tina to play a jam with him I officially would anoint him as a social media master. Please come back Tina, even just to hang out and chat.
A young girl at the time and she totally nails it. Don't confuse her concentration for boredom. Don't forget she's a classically trained guitarist, which is apparent in her mannerisms. Her cover of classical pieces are truly incredible.
@@0ParisFrance I think that things just come more easily for Tina S than they do for 99.99999% of the people. Combine that with classical training and hard work and that's why she can play Jason Becker and Dragonforce flawlessly and seem bored. I love that he was so genuinely impressed by the solos. The genuine appreciation of someone mocking the guitar solos he made is just pure artistic love. Fantastic to see a professional guitarist who is in the OG band appreciate and love the cover so much.
She wasn't mocking him she was showing him respect that she chose his song to learn it takes a long time to perfect a song of that magnitude it takes like 2 years
I had not seen that cover, and I was totally blown away. What an honor it must be for someone as accomplished at guitar as li to see something you wrote just absolutely shredded so thoroughly. Of course we talk about her, and wish that she come back after 5 or 6 yrs. Only one person, who is spreading false information about her death and I’m telling the name or internet name. It’s TH-cam Investigation. And I don’t have a suspicious mind, but if she is really dead, that person should be interrogated by the French Police. He tells, that he lives close to her home, and what is more interesting, other comments he said she is studying in a university. But more suspicious is, he said, “ Tina don’t have a clue how to make a video about her playing. “ So, who got the money for all her videos????
TINA interview : "Even if on my videos I seem, as many say, to be bored, it's quite the opposite. I am super concentrated (focused), deeply into the solo !"
Dude she wasn't FOCUSED! She wasn't even looking at the fretboard half the time! It was too EASY for her. She literally needs more challenging material, and by that I mean, stuff that requires more FEELING. Try truly nailing some SRV or something more esoteric.
You're a great sport, Mr. Li to not take any offense to someone playing your riffs verbatim. When you said, "Holy Fuck!," after the solos, I knew you were as down-to-earth as everyone says. Thanks for posting your reaction. Sincerely, an even bigger fan than before.

I am pretty sure that many artists understand that restreaming and republishing of their work is a very efficient and very cheap promotion. Publishers, on the other hand, seem to be a little behind on that... At this point, if a publisher sells a license to someone to use copyrighted music as background, let's say while live streaming a game for 10 thousand viewers, that is literally free promotion, and it has a community aspect which makes it a lot more efficient. This kind of thing should be commonplace nowadays.

Bravo Herman, that’s a great attitude, too bad others are so insecure or greedy, you are a great supporter, role model for the next generation, Bravo!!!😃👍
I hate when people say "no passion" or stuff like that as a response to a player not making faces or just playing the song. Naturally monotoned individuals can be perfectly happy and passionate without visibly showing it. It's an insult to say someone doesn't have passion simply because they don't look the way you think passion should look.
Theres also a guitar player in our local scene who plays killer solos but zero emotion. Hes just like that most of the time. It doesnt mean hes not a happy dude
THIS! From her body language, my guess is that she's an introvert. A strong introvert might feel something very deeply on the inside, but not be very "showy" about their emotions on the outside. (My God, if I only had a dollar for every time someone assumed I was "calm" or "bored" or "unemotional" when I was a roiling mass of emotions on the inside!) But I can see her enjoyment in those small head bobs and tiny shifts of expression as she plays, not to mention that no one devotes as much time to learning how to play something this difficult with this much skill unless they are passionate about it in the first place. Also, girls and young women tend to be under a lot more societal pressure to smile all the freaking time in order to "look pretty" for others, and not bending to that pressure can get one labeled as "cold" or "bitchy." Again, that might be less of a problem for a girl who more naturally shows her emotions, including happiness, on the outside and tends to smile more, but it can be hell on a girl who internalizes her feelings but is constantly bombarded by messaging that she has to constantly smile and look pretty/pleasant for other people's pleasure in order to be accepted and not seen as somehow cold or antisocial.
To all the people talking bout her expressions, she is just focussed and thinking ahead while listening to the song. Wanna see them ppl play it like this
It really is funny looking at people's expressions when they're focused. People always comment on how 'serious' I look when I'm concentrating. I'm just trying to thread a needle, not thinking on how to solve world hunger. Lol
They say it's difficult to walk and chew gum at the same time. This girl slays a Dragonforce solo, chews gum, and makes mental note of her grocery list all at the same time.

It's actually really easy to look bored when playing super technical stuff like this because you have to practice it so many times that by the time you can play it consistently live, it's about as boring and automatic as tying your shoes or brushing your teeth.
I'm sure Herman has to pretend he's excited when he plays it live.
This girl is a MONSTER! She took a song that most people can't even play and made it heavier, not even looking at her fretboard most of the time! I hope she's still playing!
She went off for like 7 years and has returned like a week ago. With her own band!

I think that things just come more easily for Tina S than they do for 99.99999% of the people.

She might not have shown a lot of passion in her posture or body language but it damn sure came through in the audio. Great video and great reaction.
You can't learn this song and play it so amazingly good without passion, she just doesn't express it like most people.

I can understand why some bands will discourage this but I look at like they are giving bands free publicity, after all this is how I discovered DragonForce
My understanding is that they give not just publicity, but if the copyright holder claims a video, the uploader can just allow all revenue generated from the video to be given to the copyright holder, so they are actually making the rights holders more money.
@@liliIiliIilil That's how it is at least with the reaction video scene.

I hate when people say "no passion" or stuff like that as a response to a player not making faces or just playing the song. Naturally monotoned individuals can be perfectly happy and passionate without visibly showing it. It's an insult to say someone doesn't have passion simply because they don't look the way you think passion should look.
I get this all the time when people tell jokes to me. No, I'm not laughing. Yes, I thought the joke was funny. I don't show emotions. Sue me.

Theres also a guitar player in our local scene who plays killer solos but zero emotion. Hes just like that most of the time. It doesnt mean hes not a happy dude
I agree with you there buddy
I have personally listened to her playing this at least 100 times through the years. I couldn’t believe how young she was at the time.
