After watching your video I ordered the solution. I followed the first half of your instructions in the video, and the followed the second half of the instructions in the printed instructions included with the solution (Run a print head cleaning - VERY IMPORTANT! Run it twice or more if you need to)! Just one warning ...remove all the paper from the tray and lay down a couple of paper napkins. I learned the hard way the solution goes everywhere, and I lost a lot of paper. Other than this one accident ...your solution works like a champ. Thank you!
Awsome. I got your cleaning kit and ordered the remanufactured ink cartridges and followed everything you said to do. Now my printer works excellent on printing again!! I did some extra cleaning very gently around the print heads where the ink feeds into to with some cotton swabs to absorb some of the extra cleaning solution and that helped the drying process. Thank you so much for showing people how to clean their printer heads!!
The blue printer head was so clogged with dry ink that it took me a few days of cleaning using this method. I used plastic wrap to cover the printheads between cleaning to keep it from drying out while I was rehydrating the ink. Thank you!
Thank you!!! HP tried telling me I needed to buy a new printer. I used a syringe and floor cleaner. It took about 10 vials until I could finally print with cyan again. Good to know about ink running too low. Much appreciated and saved me a few hundred dollars. I’ll check out your ink refills. Thank you again!!
Great video, I was having issues with no black printing followed his directions and found that the print head was loaded with dry ink had to use several paper towels and clean with solution several times but it is working like new THANK YOU Brandon, just saved around $300.00
Oh my goodness, Thank You! Just saved me buying a new printer! I purchased the Printhead Cleaning Kit, waited my 24-hours afterward to turn it on. And just like new! Thank you. Highly recommend it!
This method, somewhat changed by me, worked perfect on my HP 6958 printer for the magenta ink - which had completely topped. It should work for any or all inks in that it dissolves and flushes the old ink in the print head device. Use the paper towel to collect the spent fluid as it exits the print head (as shown in the video). Adding in a small amount of isopropyl alcohol; warming the solution; and ensuring the hose fits snugly over the print nozzle - it only took 7ml to completely restore the flow of the magenta ink! I too agree -- do not let your ink get too low. Once you get an HP alert of low ink -- change the cartridge to avoid the clogged head. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
I have a HP6960 and a HP6970 that within a couple weeks of each other stopped working properly in cyan. Both use 902 cartridges, both are on instant ink plan. I was seriously thinking it was a problem with instant ink and was ready to rid of both the printers and plan. I’m very happy the printers can be saved, it would have been sad to create more waste when the only problem was a clogged print head. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your awesome video. Needed something printed in color tonight... and following your video and using a 10ml oral medication syringe, alcohol compound & straw I got the printheads unclogged. Will order your kit to have for future issues and as a token of appreciation.
I thought you were crazy squirting liquid into a printer, then I talked to a man that repairs computers. He said it wasn’t worth it. “Buy a new one” was his advice. I ordered your cleaner. After 3 short injections…yayyyyy the cyan works !! This works y’all !!
My black ink was completely clogged, but colors were working. Tried once with 30 ML cleaner, didn't work, did a print head cleaning 3x and test sheet still wouldn't print black. Opened it and ran 20 more ML cleaner, using as much pressure as I could with the syringe and that finally did it! Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for tbis video. My HP 6978 had the Oxc19a0003 error. I removed the entire scan and printhead . Found that the black ink was leaked fully. Cleaned the printhead but it did not work. Then i saw your video. Cleaned with my vodka 😊. Sunce i removed the printhead using a nozzle drop I applied vodka and shaked the printhead to remove all the ink. I got lot of black ink coming out with vodka. What a surprise.... the printer maintenance worked after that and it went to normal state. I was about to book a new printer. Thanks again.
Awesome results. I was having problems printing and I though the reason was because I had no ink. I just bought a new set of ink and I ended up frustrated with the fact that it pistil wasn't printing. Came here on TH-cam hoping to find a solution and this video was it! bought the kit by the link, it arrived yesterday, cleaned it up myself today and now my printer is working perfectly fine. Thank you very much Best Printers!
Perhaps I waited too long (I'd been without the ability to print blue and therefore no colors for almost a year) finally decided to try this remedy before buying a new printer. Unfortunately even after 2 cleaning attempts and running numerous Clean Printhead cycles, the blue doesn't respond.
Thanks for the video and steps. I did little more research and figured I could use warm distilled water so I produced distilled water in my kitchen (you can find youtube videos on this). After unclogging printhead, make sure to run 'printhead clean' few times to get the result. Hope the channel owner will not remove this comment.
It looks like a lot of people in the comments had the same issue I’m facing and that this kit worked for them. I’m going to give it a shot! Ill follow up here if it works.
One and done! Thanks so much for the steps to unclog my printer. Black ran too low and wouldn't print with new cartridge. One syringe of cleaning fluid, 24 hours later black is printing on first test!
Thank you this worked for me. I did get a printhead error after doing this but I just turned off the printer, unplugged it and turned it back on. I then had to run the clean print head maintenance, the clean again to get the black to start showing up BUT IT WORKED!
You are the man, Brandon! Great video! Bought your product and it resolved my blue in printing problem. Blue ink apparently seems to a repeating culprit based on some of the comments below. Thank you folks for telling me I had to be persistent because it took repeated tries to finally flush out the ink!
Dude, you're the man! That worked perfectly! Thank you so much! There is nothing on the HP site that is helpful. You just save me over $100, plus additional set up headache.
Thank you so much! I just used your video and was able to fix my black ink issue! Definitely was about to cry because I thought I had wasted money on ink. Thanks a lot got you’re help
Thank you it worked perfectly, I used what I had at the moment which was saline solution, and it did the job. Wish I saw this Video before I installed 3 New Color Cartridges and ended up using all most 1/2 of the New ink cartridges by cleaning the printheads etc. as per HP. It obviously needed a deeper cleaning/flushing then what HP suggest, so I now know not to let my ink levels stay to low for periods of time, which I did, and obviously caused the problem.
I ended up w a mess of wet ink to the right side of the printer!,! Will that hurt the printer? - addition: printer came on ok had to restart once but now after cleaning print heads and realigning them all colors seem to be printing good! I would recommend wearing gloves as my hands are filthy right now!!
Your video was very clear and good but my issue is a little different. When I open my printer and the cartridge carrier is moved to the center I see that black ink leaked into the bottom of the printer to the far right where the cartridge carrier usually rests. Is there anything I can do?
I have the same situation with my printer. I first noticed it about 2 years ago and still have a black ink puddle on the far right of the printer. I always thought that I just got a bad leaky cartridge of black ink. Now my blue cartridge is blocked up and I am considering new printer as this one I have is about 6 years old.
How would the cleaning kit on on and HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 since contact area where the ink goes into is a pointed object vs a flat pad like in your demo?
I was one click away from buying a new printer. I'm going to give your product a try. Hoping you can answer this related question...Can I only install black ink - skip the colors all together? I want to use it as a basic black and white printer. I looked it up on HP and it said "maybe" if your machine has an "integrated printhead". Does this model have an integrated printhead? Do you think installing the black only cartridge would work? Thanks SO MUCH for your simple tips and helpful solution!
If your current black in cartridge is low on ink and you are replacing it, yes. However the printer cannot operate without all the ink cartridges installed.
Bud S. I loved your cleaning video and the disassembly video. I've worked on and repaired HP and Canon printer for 20 years and I retired now. Canon printers always had Ink absorbers in the bottom of the printer to collect waste ink. In your video of the HP Officejet 6978 and all the disassembly you did,...I did not see any waste ink absorber inside the Printer under the cleaning station. What does HP do with the waste in from the cleaning process.
It took four doses of the liquid to clean it....but it worked. thanks How often should it be done again. Can I buy the just the liquid, since the syringe is reusable.
Unfortunately currently we don’t sell the bottles individually but if you message us through Amazon we will see what we can do to help you. Also as long as you keep fresh ink cartilage you should have this problem again.
I ordered this cleaner for my HP Inkjet Pro 6978. After using 1 time, my black worked- 1 time. It quit again after that and I have used nearly the entire bottle of solution trying to clean it. I finally stopped and now I am researching new printers. I have loved this printer and would like another just like it. Any suggestions?
Your video and printhead cleaning product worked quite well for the colors on my HP 6978 printer. However, after multiple cleanings with the solution (heated), cleaning the underside of the print head, new ink cartridges, and running several "clean printhead" cycles, the black still will not print AT ALL -- NOTHING. My husband has the same printer, so I ran the test page on his printer to be sure what it was supposed to look like (I need to use the solution on his Yellow printhead), but there is lots of black on his, and mine has absolutely NONE! The colors came out very well, just no black! Help!
I have the same printer and I think this is the kit I need to buy. However, there are globs of ink on the complete right side of the printer. Is it the same kit that I would need to remove all that ink? Thanks in advance.
Thank you. It's definitely wet in that pocket, like the black ink is spilling out. It looks like a small puddle. The other techniques you mentioned did help in getting it to resume printing the black ink. Not sure how long the fix will hold up or if it was only spilling because of a blockage. I may just have to buy a new printer if the issue persists. Thank you!
I have same hp 6960, just wanted to ask u if I can use my printer only with black ink cartridges. I didn't install my colour cartridges as I didn't buy them
Hello, my problem is cyan, no blue. However, the ink is on the right side of the printer where the ink tank is at rest. Do we see a big puddle of ink? Is there anything we can do, the printer is only 5 years old or is it better to buy another one.My printer is the same as the one in the video. Thanks
not inexpensive at Amazon Canada, they always double prices. I have used an alternate method for a print problem that began with no black, then no anything. I managed to get the colours working using your method. Runoff runs clear when black cleaned twice but still won't print. Ideas?
@@BestPrintersThank you so much for your reply. I did do that but that used up all the ink which had been used to do that too often BEFORE I found your site. But that's how I knew your method worked for the colors - but not black. Now my choice is buy a new printer or pay much the same for replacement ink and try again. Frustrating.
@@BestPrinters a second follow up, I ordered some recycled ink that came this morning, still problems, cleaned again and cleaned print heads a few times (using up a whole lot of that ink again) and finally managed a serviceable print - for as long as it lasts, black is very streaky and blue is iffy but this just might serve me for a while. I thank you so much as your video and method worked after several others including HP support did not.
I am getting comment on printer that says the indicated cartridge is an older generation cartridge and doesn't work in your printer. Why I used this kind before?
I have a 6830 and the Cyan (Blue) is completely blocked. I have a syringe and i push down as hard as I can.... Did this 4+ times. Still nothing. I used 70% alcohol and I've used hot water as some suggested. Seems like it just won't push through. Do I need to keep going? Please help, running out of paper towels cleaning up liquid.
My printer has ink all over the place on the right side I cleaned it for hours last night, I tried the self cleaner and ink is loaded in the same area again what would make it do that ?
I'm trying to push the liquid thru but it's just running off the top of the printhead. is there something else I need to do to get the liquid to go thru?
8/16/2021 The link for ink on Amazon is currently unavailable and they don’t know when it will be back in stock. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.
I purchased your kit and went through the cleaning process. I replaced the ink cartridges and now the printer HP Officejet Pro 6978, displays “One or more cartridges are missing or damaged. Until cartridges are replaced make sure the printer is turned on to avoid damage to the printer.” There are four icons above the message indicating M C Y K. I take the cartridges out and put them back in and the same message appears and sometimes it will only display the icons for Y K (yellow and black). Suggestions on how to fix?
Howzit. What’s the name of the cleaning solution in the syringe? I have a “problem with the printerhead” message every time I turn on my printer. After watching this video, I think I need to get the cleaning solution and give it a try.
HP pushed out a new FIRMWARE for the printer that is causing the print head to dry out even more rapidly especially on the BLACK INK due to a shorter printer maintenance/printhead cleaning schedule. I strongly recommend anyone with a 6978 to DISABLE AUTOMATIC UPDATES so you don't accidentally end up with this new firmware. (Probably some kind of "planned obsolescence" for the device since it hasn't had a firmware update in 3 years yet mysteriously got a new one...)

Message me via Amazon if you need help getting a cleaning kit.
not inexpensive at Amazon Canada, they always double prices. I have used an alternate method for a print problem that began with no black, then no anything. I managed to get the colours working using your method. Runoff runs clear when black cleaned twice but still won't print. Ideas?
After using the kit run a printhead cleaning.
Do not see the link for cleaning solution and inks
Here is the cleaning kit link, geni.us/wArXsZT . All links are in the description box. I just checked they are there.
Hi. I done what you said but I think I was too heavy handed and it now says problem with printer head. Oxc19a0020.
Can I replace the printer head?
You can it’s just a headache.
I am getting comment on printer that says the indicated cartridge is an older generation cartridge and doesn't work in your printer. Why I used this kind before?
Because the updates usually mess everything up.
Is the solution alone available for purchase? I've finished my first bottle and need more solution. Syringe is fine.

HP said I needed to purchase a new print head but I assume your cleaning method will actually fix my old print-head?
Yes the cleaning kit will fix your problem.
works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Pal! Got it working again. 😃😃😃
I am so glad to hear that!
Thank you for this video! This is just good printer maintenance to know.
You're welcome!
It worked! Thanks for the tutorial.

Will this work on a 6958?
Yes!
My printer has ink all over the place on the right side I cleaned it for hours last night, I tried the self cleaner and ink is loaded in the same area again what would make it do that ?
That is a malfunction in the printer, bag it up and toss it. Or place heavy pads under the printer to avoid the mess getting on your things.
I'm trying to push the liquid thru but it's just running off the top of the printhead. is there something else I need to do to get the liquid to go thru?
Yes, you can try warming up the solution and reapplying.
8/16/2021 The link for ink on Amazon is currently unavailable and they don’t know when it will be back in stock. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.
Yes for now you can use this link, amzn.to/3B5Ts95
Thank you for letting me know!
will this work on a HP8500 A910?
Mine is a 6958 same procedures?
Yes
Will this work for the hp envy 7855? It has all colors in 1 ink cartridge
You can buy one with this link: geni.us/wArXsZT
How can I get this cleaning solution?
I have cleaned the print head several times but it's not working yet, what else can I do please?
I need to to contact you I have the hp 7610 and it has a problem
Because I took it to a print shop and had the ink printer head replaced and it says it has a error
The cleaning kit wont be able to fix an error code.
Will this work on HP 6830
Great video, it worked great using hot water!!!!
Thank you so much this solved the problem!!!!!!
Tried your product, but the black ink still does not print at all. Any further suggestions?
Yes run a printhead cleaning, that will push the ink back into the system.
My printer doesn’t print any color at all even when I try to do the ink test thing. Would it work for this case too?
Yes!
Is it ok if some solution went inside
HP pushed out a new FIRMWARE for the printer that is causing the print head to dry out even more rapidly especially on the BLACK INK due to a shorter printer maintenance/printhead cleaning schedule. I strongly recommend anyone with a 6978 to DISABLE AUTOMATIC UPDATES so you don't accidentally end up with this new firmware. (Probably some kind of "planned obsolescence" for the device since it hasn't had a firmware update in 3 years yet mysteriously got a new one...)
Thanks for sharing.
The link aint working.
Thanks for letting me know.
Can you please resend link to buy ink via amazon, thanks!
Yes here it is, amzn.to/3RjV9aR
