Produced and Directed by: Michael Coin
“… By far the most revealing and accurate account of the Alcatraz I knew.”
    - Philip R. Bergen, Captain of the Guards, United States Penitentiary, Alcatraz (ret.)
    (Huckleberry Films, 1988)
    Running Time: 1 Hour
“… MAGNIFICENT … A DOCUMENTARY OF HISTORIC PROPORTIONS”
    -American History Illustrated
Over two years of research and filming has created the most historically accurate and detailed account of life on “The Rock” ever recorded.
    ALCATRAZ: THE FINAL SENTENCE.
This award-winning documentary compiles the only known film in existence of actual Alcatraz inmates on the island, that until now has been unavailable to the general public. Included are recently discovered archival photos and rare newsreel footage.
Witness interviews with former Alcatraz inmates, the Captain of the Guard and family members of prison officers that lived on the island. You’ll hear their personal, emotional and often shocking testimony explaining why Alcatraz was the most effective Federal Penitentiary in our nation’s history.
Detailed accounts of escape attempts by notorious inmates including Robert “The Bird Man” Stroud, George “Machine Gun” Kelly and Al “Scarface” Capone, make this film the definitive source of information to one of the most intriguing subjects of American history.

I remember visiting Alcatraz while on holidays from Australia in 1991. I was only young and did not realise the history behind what made Alcatraz such a famous prison. Well not until I watched Clint Eastwood in that famous movie about it.
