Thanks for sharing. Never heard about this. God Bless Our Native Americans.
Reporter: How would you characterize the government's handling of this entire affair to date?
Lawyer:
Stupid
Best time to be in America. I grew up in the Bay Area and my parents fully supported the First Nation people.
.
I visited Alcatraz 2 days ago and I didn’t know anything about it until I got there and I saw the exhibit about “the Indians of all tribes” definitely caught my attention and I’d say it was more interesting to me than the prison itself , god bless native Americans
i never knew about this im glad i watch this tru history of people coming together as one much love to all the natives
That was. Very interesting. I knew Eddie Castillo who was one of the first there. I knew him many years ago.
Great Story
3:47 first native American studies programme in the US
4:23 history of Alcatraz
8:30 Richard Oakes' proclamation
21:30 artists' support
22:27 death of Richard Oakes' daughter
39:14 John Trudell's baby
United Native Americans Founded the 1st Native American Studies Program at UC Berkeley during the 3rd World Strike of 1969. Richard Oaks and Disgruntled Former UNA Member LaNada Means had NOTHING to Do with it.
😇
Strange that they buffed out the original Indian graffiti on Alcatraz and painted it again
It was repainted many years later by some of the same people and their grandchildren
Time to give back the Black Hills to native Americans.
Fascinating

If we are to live up to our responsibility as Human beings, we must learn the terrible truth if our history and work to repair the harm which continues To This Day. LAND BACK! is not only a reasonable demand, it is the Least we must do. Return the salmon to free flowing rivers, everywhere. Keep all the promises written in the treaties, all of which have been broken. To become a Real nation we must recognize the ignorance of prejudice and the suffering and harm from discrimination. May all beings be safe. May all beings be well !
As someone from the UK, i'm fucking pissed off that I only just learned about this whole thing now. I'm 41 ffs
LAND BACK!!!
The whole idea was ridiculous.
any mod of the dead gamers
🤔
APACHE PRIDE!
A fish can't complain it's way out of being a sharks dinner, natural selection is as true today as it was a thousand years ago.
Funny how the Indians supposedly take great care in the environment, "Throw the toy guns in the water"!
Today was the day you learned about the concept of Symbolism.
Funny how you decided to talk about that instead of the whole documentary. Funny how racism peaks it’s head everywhere when people like you comment on stuff you know nothing about
