I thought that scene in the end of Rebels took place before she trained sabine the first time. And then, now again, when she picked her up the second time, just for the sake of an easter egg. I really hot its not a retcon. There's really no need for it.
The mural was created for the celebration in the first episode meaning it can't have existed before. Meaning it is in fact a retcon of ahsoka's outfit.@@ZavhallaTV

I’m an absolute sucker for awesome training scenes, and this might become one of my favorites! Not only does it feel like so many classic samurai films, also shows how ANYONE can be open to the Force in Star Wars, as long as they not only have the talent but the willingness to be open to The Force, which goes against many of the teachings of Mandalorian culture.
Also, Ahsoka going out into space to fight starfighters with just her lightsabers is absolutely an Anakin move if you watch Clone Wars!
Hera should just contact Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, and Chewie, they’d wanna help out, unlike the new republic, just like in heir to the empire.
They keyed in on the fact that Sabine had training with the light saber. Her techniques. Huyang made a comment about it "obviously" Ahsoka then made reference to the fact that the weapons training is easier for Sabine, force training will be the real challenge. Being able to sense what is happening. It's all being covered.

Torso stabs are survivable, and something you'd use to incapacitate, not kill. Quigon was stabbed through the chest and spine. No coming back from that.

I think we all want the Ahshoka personality that we grew up with, but they are going with the more Master Ashoka, like Anakin, has become more mature like most of the master Jedii we've seen when they grow up. imo.
Well if u want that bubbly ahsoka, just watch the clone wars. U cant expect Ahsoka to be the same after years of war, order 66 and rebels facing Anakin/darth vader and going into exile herself

I agree we want and like, SW's Clone Wars Ahsoka tano personality, which i think is an innate, and regardless of what's she's been thru & being mature, her innate bubbly personality can remain. Ahsoka character now, is so one dimensional.

lol the level of gigantismic expectations you have about the masked guy reminds me how often you end up disappointed with reveals in tv shows. At least you keep the hype alive and are always ready for a new try :)
Not too much happened, but a lot was revealed.
For one, we saw Jacen, we now know what that Stargate is.
We saw the Purgles, and there was a lot of good force lore in there.
The conversation that Hera had with the new republic was interesting also. I feel one or more of those senators is actually a plant for the Empire.
Pretty sure the Forest fight will happen next episode.
But I really like about this so far, is that they are staying on task, there isn’t a bunch of filler crap like we’ve seen in other series.
I really like Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera . She’s so good, and she looks fine as hell.
That Asian senator next to Chancellor Mothma was Himoto Xiono, father of Kazuda Xiono from Star Wars: Resistance.
Ahsoka has matured so I would hope people stop expecting to see the younger version of her. Anthony you need patience because this series is like a book and I completely disagree with you a lot of things happened in this episode.

The first 2 episodes did a solid job reestablishing characters and introducing new ones but THIS felt and captured the essence of rebels. Best so far 🤌
Guys, guys...."nothing much happened"? How about the coolest training scene ever and the coolest dogfight (Ahsoka's spacewalking/leaping/running moves, weaving through the tentacles of space whales, etc.) since the prequels?! This episode had me whooping, laughing and cheering--almost as if I were sitting in a packed movie theater in the 1980s. Yes there was no big reveal, but with the constant theorizing, second-guessing and predicting based on canon I feel you're missing what's right in front of you. It's fun to analyze plot points and implications--it's what fans do--but I still find the most fun happens when you let the movie (or show) tell the story at its own pace. Maybe I'm showing my age. I'm a Star Wars fan since May 1977 (when I was a high-schooler) but with the caveat that I never delved much into the non-cinematic media where most of the canon lives: games, novels, comics, etc. It seems to me that younger, more-canon obsessed fans are hyper-critical to the point of shooting themselves in the foot. The best time most fans ever had was watching the original trilogy with no expectations. No back stories, no canon. All fresh and with a sense of wonder dialed to 11.
It wasn't stupid. It made sense. Hati knew her masters views on jedi, she wasn't told to kill sabine, and had no intention of killing her. She toyed and challenged sabine, but gave her a serious wound when Ahsoka arrived to keep them from following. At most sabine might lose a kidney.
plus sabine got stabbed on her left side not like quigon did, his was a mortal kill unlike hers.
@@braddollahite even he lived for several minutes after the stab. He was still alive after obi wan killed maul to give obi wan some last words. Sabine was brought aboard Ahsoka's ship immediately where theres presumably a med bay of some sort.
We did see Sabine's bunk in Ahsoka's ship in the first episode and there was a melody of nostalgia playing with it. So they obviously spent some amount of time together before hand
starkiller died in game after Beating Darth Vader he gets killed by the emperor when they both force lightning each other, the emperor barely made it , it couldnt be.. but Could be a clone of him That's what the second force unleashed game was about he was cloned And he got residual memories from the original star killer we were all hoping he would be Reys parents, Star killer and Juno eclipse.. She wasn't stabbed in the chest Stabbed in The areas she was stabbed in you would only hit the kidney or liver.. You can lose over half of your liver and it would regenerate in real life... It's a very interesting and crazy Organ.. But yeah this episode I give a solid 9 out of 10
This felt like clone wars and I loved it
We don't have to justify Qui Gon dying from his injuries but others living from those same injuries, since in real life some people die from a single gunshot wound and others live after being shot multiple times. It happens in real life. So it makes perfect sense in fictional storytelling.
Darth Maul was cut in half!!! Yet people are making a bigger stink of Sabine being stabbed in the side and living?! 🤪
Sabine was stabbed in the lower side of her abdomen. Gui gonn was stabbed dead center of torso through the spine.

The ring is a hyperspace ring just like the ones the Jedi used in the prequels only for larger ships. Like the Chimeara.

If it is Starkiller, I'd guess they'd have to sort of nerf him. Otherwise he could have easily took out Ahsoka, as he had pulled down a Star Detroyer b4 using only the force.
The technology to save qui-gon was invented a couple days after he was stabbed.
He was also lying on the floor for several minutes, while Sabine got medical attention immediately. Qui-Gon took the blade right in the gut, while Sabine's injury was off-centre and missed her vital organs. Technology has definitely advanced since then as well; just compare Anakin's robot hand to Luke's.
People survive truly staggering injuries. The stewardess sucked out of a plane at 28,000 feet, the window washer whose scaffold fell 50 stories, getting shot 6 or 10 times, etc. And yes, she and Qui-Gon were stabbed in different locations.
Also, when was ashoka ever bubbly, she always had a mean expression imo, especially when fighting very reserved

It almost looks like it’s some kinda harness that would fit around a smaller Purgel space whale. Also, I think because we saw the whales appear in atmosphere above that planet. It’s like this version of the empire has been heavily studying the whales.

0:47 Starkiller is like REALLY powerful in the games, like if Luke turned to the dark side. For example: Starkiller pulled a star destroyer from the sky once. He was Vader's secret apprentice (in legends). I think in the show he would be quite different and the guy who plays him is a huge star wars fan and also voiced Maul in the animated shows, like you said.

3. It was great seeing development with Sabine as a potential Force user, the sequence involving Hera and the Senate being tense (nice seeing Jacen Syndulla for the first time) and that space battle looked quite cool.
4. Obviously, I wish there was more runtime, but, alas, beggars can't be choosers.

The ending was not changed in the first episode. Do not always believe what your eyes tell you
nope. They say in the first episode the mural was only recently created FOR the celebration. "This monument, which we dedicate here today, stands in recognition..." Meaning it can't have existed when Sabine started training with Ahsoka the first time. Likewise Ahsoka's actress has explicitly said it is the same scene in a interview and said they changed it cause they want to show how Ahsoka becomes "Ahsoka the white"

I'm completely sure that the Marrock (sp?) dude (Star Wars Snake Eyes) is an absolute nobody. He's just some random-ass inquisitor that doesn't matter. Filoni is just having fun teasing all the fans that think they're smarter than they actually are. It's the most blatant of red herrings.... it's like a... pink herring? Like, you only see more into it because you're so used to watching really bad prime time tv.

The whole Marrok / Star Killer thing...Remember that the actual OG starkiller (Galen Marek) is dead, there are potentially lots of other Star Killers though. The Starkiller it could be is either the Dark Apprentice (who I think would be too op) or one of the many 'failed' clones that go nuts when they remember they are Galen Marek. It's not that far fetched that Morgan could control one of the Star Killer clones to keep it sane. It would be a good set up to then have the good 'Subject 1138' Star killer show up to help out Ahsoka against the Dark Apprentice / bad Star Killer clone.
Or it's one of the Jedi kids we get introduced to in Clone Wars. Petro is maybe a good candidate..
People who think Marrok is Starkiller, or an Anakin/Luke clone, are deluded. It makes absolutely zero sense with regards to Rebels. The only character that would fit (if it’s even a mic drop surprise at all) is Ezra. If it’s Ezra you get more questions than answers and in the scheme of Rebels and Ahsoka it would have an impact. Anyone else doesn’t work thematically and narratively

I’m tired of TH-camrs complaining about qui gon dying ….Sabine was stabbed in a non vital area master Jin was stabbed center of chest around his lungs and heart and spine everyone else was stabbed in kidneys and non vitals
What if Marrok is Mara Jade? We do not know the gender of that character and the fight with Ahsoka on Correllia was odd to me. I studied the sword for many years and to me, Marrok did NOT move like a man would in a sword fight, even a Jedi or Inquisitor. I have watched the fight 4 times now. The way I see it either it is man who is working VERY hard to keep people guessing or it is a woman.
Mara Jade was the Emperor's Hand (one of them anyway no matter what she thought at first). She was not an Inquisitor, but she knew them, worked with them occasionally 'and' killed them occasionally at the Emperor's orders according to some sources. The whole POINT of the Emperor's Hand (or Hands) is they were INCREDIBLY secretive, hence when I saw the mask and herd the modulated voice, I went 'Mara?'. Hands worked in the shadows even more than the Inquisitors and they were INCREDIBLY effective. And wait a minute.... Impersonating people to sneak in places was one of their specialties. (For all kinds of reasons, most bad!) We know for a fact that she impersonated men to sneak into places during her work for the Emperor. Can't remember the book it was spoken of in, but she did say that.
Add to that? Mara Jade was 'introduced' as a character in Timothy Zahn's 'Heir to the Empire'. After the season 2 finale of the Mandalorian, I would not put it past Dave Filoni or any of the others to have ANY kind of sneaky trick in store. Sneaky tricks were/are the Emperor's Hands' stock in trade.
Is this feasible or am I grasping at straws? Maybe I am just grasping, but I would cry tears of joy if Mara Jade showed up even if she IS one of the bad guys right now.
(Edit: Sabine was NOT stabbed in the torso. Not through the chest like Qui-Gon was. The wound COULD have killed her, sure. Stomach, liver, kidneys, whatever. Any of those can kill if enough damage is sustained. That said? In real life, let alone Star Wars with its wild and crazy medical tech, abdomen penetration traumas are not always fatal even if the blade did not cauterize like a lightsaber would! I am speaking as a former EMT and sword wielder. I have 'seen' people shot and stabbed in the abdomen survive. Chest, not so much. Sabine was stabbed in the abdomen. A bad wound, yes. It could have killed her, yes. Ahsoka got her to medical care in time and 'maybe' cheated a bit with the Force, but even that wound would not be instantly fatal 'if' it missed the liver. Liver is pretty much a 'You are screwed' card when you lose it in real life. Star Wars, I don't know. Maybe. And as far as I could see? The wound was too low and in the wrong quadrant. It got the intestines for sure, maybe a kidney, but probably not the liver. 'Load and go' no matter what with such a wound, but she likely WOULD make it to the hospital IF the liver is undamaged.)

Thank god I'm not the only one to hate the getting stabbed in the torso and then surviving with just a little love and care remedy thing. It is a lazy way to try to create tension and it's not working because nobody is falling for it anymore lol. Otherwise the show is good. If starkiller is the guy and they have the nerves to portray him as the games then this series viewership will explode!

You mention that you wonder if this wasn't Ahsoka's and Sabine's first attempt to find Ezra. That would totally make sense, just by what we know about the characters. they likely wouldn't just blow it off. But, because of this episode specifically, it might imply that. That could be why the senators acted uninterested, especially after Ezra's name came up. Perhaps they had been through this before.

Apparently you didn't watch the episode. Shes not training sabine to be a jedi as shes loss faith in the jedi ways, Grogu on the otherhand is different, wayyyy more force sensitive and previous actual jedi training, so any screw up training him could have crazy consequences vs someone like Sabine

I have a question, why didn't Ashoka just Mary Poppins herself back to the space ship like Leia did in the last Jedi when she jumped off the ship to destroy that fighter? I mean why would she even need Sabine's help to get back on the ship like because Leia needed no help she used the force right!
Ahsoka isn't as powerful as Leia. The Skywalker bloodline is much stronger. Besides, i'm sure Ahsoka could have done that if she had to, but she didn't. She knew Sabine had her back.
Ahsoka Season 2 has just been cancelled. Terrible acting cut and paste from prior starwars films. Filoni should stick to cartoons. Season 1 of mando shows Favreau can do good work, if left to his own devices. Kennedy and Filoni are creative poison.Ahsoka is a fine example.

Lilely a face reveal will have him be a youngling, Padawan or young jedi we knew from some background actor or a Clone Wars episode.

No spoilers, as in, I'm not saying who... But, Marrak is 💯 a dude. My cousin worked on the post production of Ahsoka. Signed an NDA and all the other things. I still don't know. All I've been told is that he's a dude. The latter half of this series is gonna be savage!
