Ahsoka began as Anakin's padawan when she was 14. She was a commander in the old Republic during the clone wars and an operative for rebellion against the Empire. She's probably in her 40's now, so yes, her experiences would make more stoic in the current time-line.
Did you guys notice the way Ahsoka smiled when she saw the purgill? You can see the rest she lights up our was like she was back in the clone wars. And the fun snarkyness at Sabine when she was floating out in space
Yeah that’s very true, we haven’t seen her deal with the aftermath of finding out anakin became Vader. I really need an in-depth healing conversation between Ashoka and force ghost anakin. If that happens I will flip out lol.
The acting is great. Sabine’s actress is awesome and OBVIOUSLY Rosario Dawson is amazing as Ahsoka. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is also a flawless choice for Hera. I love this show so much
Yeh I hear the arguments about the acting as well but imo Sabine and Ahsoka are intentionally stiff w each other bc there is conflict there that they are not dealing with. Friends who had a big fight years ago and now you have to be around them and its awkward. People are taking it as wooden in a bad acting way, but it feels right to me that they would be stiff with each other. I think it's a choice on purpose. I guess we'll find out at the end of the series lol
The way I see it, midichlorians are attracted to force beings and a high count means a being is strong with the force, but they aren't conduits of the force. They're just symbiotes. They don't help you use the force, they just reflect your sensitivity. If Sabine doesn't have much force ability (remember the line from the trailer where Shin says "you have no power" (which they apparently cut from the show)) ... it would make sense that she also has a low M count. But it doesn't mean she can't learn to use the force which is everywhere and surrounds everything. Also, the question remains, does the amount of Midichlorians increase (you attract more) as your force ability/sensitivity increases?
In the EU, there is Corran Horn, who is force sensitive but cannot move things around or do what we knew of jedi at the time. His skills ended up giving him amazing reflexes (which helped him be a great pilot), and more mind control stuff. Its possible that sabine has different powers that we have already seen but haven't been honed. Things that Hyuong and Ahsoka arent trained to recognise.
The midichlorian count that you were referring to is to be recruited by the Jedi. That's when you can show natural talent with the force like the way baby Ashoka was able to connect to the tiger that tried to eat her. But trust she says about training and focus being what ultimately determines your success with the five comes straight from George Lucas. In the 80s he gave an interview and he talked about the five being like yoga or karate. Skyline take take a class and some people are naturally gifted at it but if train hard at it then you can learn to do it.
A lot of plot. Whales are here for sure and that is important. Senate is weak. Training has started. With the information about the gate the senate can be turned to support the fight.
This show should be called Phoenix or something. Sabine is obviously the protagonist, and Ahsoka is just a really boring side character. The whole plot to find Ezra is a phoenix thing Ahsoka is just along for the ride. And unfortunately I think the decision to turn Ahsoka into a completely stoic expressionless character was the actors choice. Kinda like how everyone plays batman different. It's really weird when the robot is less robotic than the main character.
So not true, Dave has full control over his character, ahsoka is awesome and the clear star. Second she's much older and been through a lot, she's definitely not gonna be the same from clonewars or rebels
Rosario is being very subtle. She's smiling and smirking constantly (often with sarcasm) and it's a very toned down take on the exuberance of Ashley's younger portrayal. It's all very deliberate and very Samurai film. I just wish her voice was more of a match.
There are a couple moments in Rebels where Sabine displays true Force sensitivity, but it's glanced over on purpose I think. Sabine feeling the Dark Saber getting lighter as she starts to get in tune with it. Plus her saying "he is coming" referring to Ezra running to the portal in the World Between Worlds despite not being able to actually see him, she just sensed it. Not to mention her ridiculous agility in combat, plus her crazy pilot skills. It's like if she isn't "over thinking it" she can do it.
