Locksmith tried charging me 140 fir fon and programming. I ordered 2 fobs on Amazon for 30 bucks and the help of this video done in minutes . Thank you
Thank you for this. I bought two fobs that came with a "go to link for instructions" that didn't exist. Your instructions were clear, concise and true. Thanks so much!!!
Concise instructions, very helpful. I had two remotes, I bought two additional remotes only took a few minutes to have them all programmed to the truck, thank you so much for the video.
My 2000 Chevy 1500 pickup is on it's 3 set of fobs, unfortunately remembering how to program the new fobs did not work and the instructions from the manual that came with the truck does not work. The DIY video worked - it was perfect. Thanks
I was able to program one of The key fobs but I’m having difficulties programming the second one. I’ve tried several times and it still won’t program. Any suggestions appreciated by the way great video simple and to the point. Thank 👍🏼
I had one of my original fobs that came with my truck when new that lost its programing on my GMC Sierra. The fob battery got so weak it would not lock or unlock the doors and the emergency (RED) button did not work. I replaced the battery with a new one but the fob still did not work so I got in the truck and ran through these steps and with the same new battery the fob started working again. Thanks !
I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS. When I press the unlock and lock on driver side door it doesn't unlock or lock the passenger side door. What do you think that might be?
@@justindeckard5296 That is a isse with Wiring, not a keyfob program issue. That being said. My first location to check would be the fuse related to the passanger side door. I believe in the silverado the fuse panel is located next to the drivers side door on the dash between the door jam. If that does not fix the issue, due to a bad fuse. Then go to your pass door, and check for contintinutiy between that wire and the fuse location. If cont exsist. then check for the same on the drivers door to that fuse. If that doesnt find the issue. your next location would be ground fault on the pasanger door, or computer issue with the cars computer. good luck tracking wires sucks.
My 1997 Chevy Tahoe key fob was bad. Dec 2021 bought a new GM key fob/programmed at Chevy dealer [$81.38 fob, $65.95 labor]. July 2022 ordered a key fob from Boost Auto parts website, click on key fobs, key fobs vary depending on make/model/year. 1-year old GM key fob not working good, so switched to the Boost key fob on Jan 2023 which has been working perfect.
@@kyriaswartz5331 Google > boost auto parts < without the arrows, click on 'key fobs' below the upper webpage photo , have different key fobs for different trucks
This was an old key fob that we already had. The button pads can wear out over time and some buttons may stop working - I would try replacing the button pad - replacements can be found online.
My 2005 Silverado goes into programming mode but in about 5 seconds, it ends the programming mode by itself not giving me enough time to program my key fobs . Is there a step I’m missing?….
My 2002 silverado is old enough to buy a beer now, and one of the key fobs gave up the ghost 10 years ago. Not an issue until I misplaced my only working fob/keychain. Ordered a new one on Amazon. Programmed it, no problem. 2 days later, I found my misplaced keychain, but my fob no longer worked. Seems like when I programmed the new fob, it deprogrammed my old one. I sat out in the truck today, and I reprogrammed the old one, but now the new one doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?
Do you have to have the old fob to do the first cycle like you did here? I had one working fob for my truck, and it quit working. I tried a new battery and it did not fix it. So as of now, I have no fob.
Thanks for the help! After reprogramming the remote the door locks work again but not the start function. All that happens when I push the start button is the exterior lights flash 5 times. Any idea on how to get the start function to work again?
@@PYR-Auto It is an aftermarket remote start unit (Polar Start). I have found that either I can program my fob via flashing the hood pin or by pushing unlock button, brake, ignition, ect.. Anyhow, I resolved the issue. I hadn't programmed the Tach, once this was done I could remote start. Now what I can't figure out is how to enable the Cold Weather Mode. I did find the manual and it says to press and hold the shift button, then press and hold the start/stop button for 3 secs. The parking lights will flash 3 times (FYI, the supplied remote is a 5 button). I've tried this several times either by pressing the buttons in succession or consecutively and nothing happens. I don't expect you to know this, but just throwing it out there,

it can still work but depending on the alarm system it may cause issues as well

I have an 02 Silverado and it’s not working for some reason?
Will this also work for a 2005 Chevy Express Van ? Thank you!
No - unfortunately there is no manual way to program fobs to a 2005 Express. You will need an automotive locksmith or dealership

You have to do both at the same time.

Yes as the other comment said they both need to be programmed during the same procedure - one right after the other

No - there is no manual way to program fobs for a 2007 solstice. You will need an automotive locksmith or dealership

no

Hey just curious how can I program a key fob if I have the work truck edition? There aren’t any buttons or anything like that on my doors
I'm not sure but you can try going to autozone and ask if they can do something to make it work I heard it can cost $150-$250

mine i do it but like right after i put it in the cycle it immediately cycles again after and it doesnt program the key

How can I do it without the push button lock ?
if you do not have power locks then the vehicle will not have the factory remote option installed
