- The key fob doesn't work. In this video I show you how I replaced the dead battery (CR2032) and how I programmed the key fob so that it will lock and unlock the vehicle again!
How to Program GM Keyless Remotes. I was able to sync the key fob by following a few steps to get the GM vehicle into program mode. The key fob is able to sync and calibrate with the GM vehicle when in program mode. Now the key fob works perfectly!
This method should work on pre-2007 GM vehicles.

My tailgate stop working. When it did my remote stop working as well and wount allow me to program any remote. Is a 02 envoy. Do you know what can it be?
I had the same problem and I couldn’t open the doors because my is not the same for the doors, so I tried the step where he pressed the lock and unlocked botton of the key remote at the same time and it worked.
Tried to program a new key fob, but the locks still don't work. Any suggestions?
Oh my goodness, thank you for having this online. I'm an old broad trying to figure out all this stuff on my own. The keyfob to my 2003 Silverado quit working and still wouldn't work after putting in a new battery. The one in your video looks EXACTLY like mine. Took me a couple of tries, but it works. I can't thank you enough.
It worked! Replaced the batteries but wouldn't work, but both fobs work now...thanks for sharing!!!

Thank you! I needed this! Thought my fob broke so bought a replacement and couldnt get it to work. Couldnt find how to reprogram. Thanks to this video I googled one last time how to reprogram for my vehicle and was able to find the instructions.
I tried this also, still doesn't work.
Just to let you know you don't have to remove the ring holding your key fob on in order to open up the key fob to replace the battery. Just open it up normally and the two pieces will stay on the ring together. Also you only turn your key on and off two times not three times.

I can say that for Blazer 2002 Latin America you need 3 times
great clip but while fob is open take apart and wipe down contact points with alcohol wipes it helps alot also.

I just bought a 2001 GMC Sierra that had no active fobs, but the prior owner had purchased a few that weren't yet paired to the truck and that he included with it.

So, I did this and successfully got the vehicle into program mode and paired my new key fob the car received the signal and locked/unlocked to doors (recived key fob signal) but if i try to use the fob after programming, nothing happens
Sameee. After I get it in program mode, if I keep the door closed it keeps cycling but as soon as I open the door it stops working. It’s pissing me off

There must be a parasitic draw on the battery somewhere in the electronics.
I would suggest dry cleaning inside the fob electronic spray. I got a fob with signs of water beer or soda driedup inside the fob.
Truck responded to reprogramming but the buttons won't do anything still

Thought mine was broke also. It would lock but not unlock. Pull fob apart to remove rubber buttons from circuit board. With cleaner or pencil eraser clean contacts. My batt. checked good at 3 V. Works perfect now at good distance. Also programmed fob from another '04, Z71, Burb as shown and now I have 2 fobs working. Excellent video Thanks.

I replaced my battery and when I try locking or unlocking my truck, the lights outside flash like it did but it doesn’t. And when I sit inside to try it all I hear is small clicking sounds. But does not lock nor unlock.

Hello. I am trying to program a brand new replacement key fob for my 2001 Chevy Tahoe. As mentioned the key fob is brand new, with brand new working batteries. I have followed/repeated the entire insert key, hold down unlock button, turn ignition off/on twice, wait for the lock to cycle, press and hold lock/unlock on fob simultaneously. But the lock never cycles therefore the Tahoe never enters programming mode. As a side note, I know that the locks are capable of cycling. Because when I pull and hold the bright light lever while cycling the key twice to program my desired door lock/unlock sequence the locks will actually cycle, the same way that they should when programming the key fobs. Can you please share some troubleshooting steps that might help me diagnose why my Tahoe won't enter programming mode so that I can program my new key fobs? Thank you.
I've got the exact same issue. Makes a sound like it's doing something when I release the unlock button, but the locks never actually cycle

@@Allwaystravel22 negative. I'm worrying that the key fobs I ordered aren't actually broadcasting a signal. They have power(I used my multimeter on the button battery) but the vehicle is still unresponsive. I've been trying to find a key fob tester kiosk at autozone but the last 2 locations I went to didn't have one there anymore. Usually there for the key fob battery display.

I really need your help! I have the fobs that you have and i do exectly as you do in your video. I come in to the program mode, let go the unlock buttom and press bouth fob buttoms on my key. I can hold them down for minutes without anything happend. My fob did'nt work before either. Whats the problem?
Is the truck a 2007 or newer? This process works for the pre-2007 models. If not, be sure the battery is good in the fob. Otherwise, I can't think of anything other than possibly the circuitry in the fob is bad. Hope you're able to get it working soon.
@@TheDaninator my truck is a silverado 2006. I have changed the battery to brand new 2032s'. I have cleaned out the circuitry and it's look fine for me 🤔

Hey dan I have a 07 Classic basically an 06. I don’t have any tone when locking my truck with my fob. Will this fix that?
If you have the driver information center (dic) you can enable or disable that option.
So is it the remote of this doesn’t work and has a new battery?

What if it worked before but you got another vehicle with a key fob and you get confused with both .. and now the 1st vehicle key fob not working and I can’t get into vehicle because it was broken into and they messed up my key hole so now the only way to get in is by breaking a window but I don’t want to do that is there a way to reset fob with out breaking a window lol thanks
What if you sold the vehicle and made it someone else’s problem? 😂 sounds like you may need a locksmith to get you in the vehicle.

Is there a procedure to reprogram 2 key fibs? I have Fob 1 and Fob 2 for 2 different drivers.
After you press and hold unlock and lock on the first key fob you simply grab the next key fob and press and hold unlock and lock until it does its thing again

My locks pop up-and-down with the testing phase and horn beeps but it will not go further where it works? I wish I can get help I'm on disability and I can't afford to replace ithe replace it or get go to a shop??
My question is how to tell if the key fobs have been invalidated and need to be reprogrammed, if the battery hasn't been replaced or gone dead? The truck's battery had no problem two days ago.

OK so when I try this method it doesn't go into learn mode.. I even tried using the snap-on scanner, sit there and hold the buttons and it never registers. And ideas that could help?

Daninator cheers mate, I have repeatedly tried using the method described for the Mazda car key fob reprogramming and have always failed to reprogram my key fob since replacing the battery.
In just one look at your video I really quickly got my key fob to work as it should. 😀

@@TheDaninator nah battery is fresh, turns out that as I removed the key from ignition the little button you press to remove key was staying pressed, and when the key is ignition fob is disabled. I lubed the lock mechanism and now all is working well, the little button pops open everytime I remove key now.

@@missoli100 , it is what it is. It cost me over $400 to replace the fobs and install new Python system. The fobs I had were obsolete and they didn't service it. I really like the remote start feature. I like to car camp and it's nice to be able to take the chill off without leaving my comfy bed in back.
