Good cheap mods: 1) Headlight/Fog light/High Beam mod. Usually referred to as the "6-high mod". A couple cheap diodes gets the fogs to turn on automatically with the headlights, and has all 6 lights on when you switch to brights. 2) LED strip lights in the front seat footwells, and rear floor area. Wired with the dome light such that they come on when a door is opened. Wires & lights are completely hidden, but eliminates any shadows on the floor areas. 3) DeeZee easy down strut for the tailgate. Just pop the tailgate open and let go; the strut slowly lowers the tailgate. 4) Not sure if this can be sourced anymore, but an Escalade cowl piece where the stock truck antenna sticks up. The gmt800 Escalades didn't have an antenna sticking up there, so the cowl piece is smooth. Just run a stock length antenna horizontal under the hood on the lip of the passenger fender. I've had all these for over a decade. Best "bang for your buck" cheap mods.
LGND also did door handles that have LED strips slim and bright in them. Look outstanding. You should do them and your tailgate handle with a brake light strip in it. Would be crazy

ever considered vinyl wrapping between the side windows? I did it on mine and absolutely am in love with it. I drew a straight edge with masking tape off the top of my drip guards and made it level with plastic strip under the window. it was extremely cheap and it didn't take a ton of time. well worth it in my opinion. love the vids keep em comming. gives me ideas for my 07 crew long lbz.
on my old 2006 Sierra I fixed my fog light switch with a little spring from an old remote control (the little springs that hold the batteries in place) The original switch is a chintzy design where the spring action comes from a little rubber diaphragm that breaks and flattens out.
The cheapest budget mod that i do/like is color match the front tow hooks with a rattle can Something about the hint of color in the bumper is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The 5.7 vortec in my 98 obs had a similar resonator that I did the same exact rubber cap on. It sounded so much nicer in the truck and definitely made me drive a little more spiritedly lol as for actual gains probably not that much if any at all it just sounded cool.

Chevies I love but your always fixing something on them. Had to do the same thing to my S10. Had to change out my 3rd door latch too. I've got a second standard bed s10 that I need to fix the heater climate control problem. Cold works heat doesn't.
The headliner is a pain. I gave up on it and just took it to the upholstery shop. Took them 4 hours and 3-4 hundred. Money well spent. It's nerve wrecking thinking you're gonna snap the fiberglass headliner in 2 while trying to remove.

Those tires sticking out beyond the fenders are about the most ridiculous mods I see on trucks! If you must have that hideous look, do the job right and have the fenders built out to shield the wheels and tires! With the weight of the wheels and tires moved to the outside, you also shift the weight of the truck, wheels and tires away from the center of the wheel bearings, where the weight of the truck should be centered! The truck will NEVER handle properly again, unless you go no faster than 20 mph or so! And your tires WILL wear on the inside first! This mod puts excess forces on the outside of the wheel bearings away from the center of the wheel bearings where the weight should be supported! Not to mention since the tires are outside the truck's body, stones will fly off the tires from time to time hitting any surrounding vehicles! At the very least, mount mud guards behind each tire to cut down the flying objects thrown up from your tires! You're NOT the only one on the road!
@tcl0028 radio waves rely on "line of sight" transmission. Pole antennas have a greater line of sight. No ammount of "technology " in an antenna will increase its range.

I always keep my long antenna on now ever since I locked myself out and had to use one to get in. They can be handy 😂

I bought one of those bullet antennas from lgnd too. Radio signal is crap(I expected that) and within 9 months the black somehow turned into silver.
You may have to take the front seats out to get the headliner back in if the new windshield is installed already
