    Have two Newkies to put on in the next week.and i have a Wheat beer to set away. All i do when i have bottled is with a magic marker number the tops of the bottle cap. saves labels,mark your records with a number.

    Nice one again. Agree with you about the capper, first class bit of kit. How's the cider going? Have a look at Turbo Cider, 5 galls for like pennies. Keep 'em coming big fella :-)

      Great capper that one is. The cider is all bottled up and will open one up when it hits a month old I think. Cheers Paul :)

    It doesn’t matter if it is only just over 3%. We know that it tastes really nice. Was the initial try that you had anything like Brown Ale? I suppose you can’t really tell until it’s properly ready because it might get sweeter with the sugar or you might get secondary fermentation. I seem to get that even if I use Camden tablets which should stop it. I don’t really care as long as it is a good brew. The coopers mexican cerveza is good very near to corona and a very nice one on a summer evening in the garden. That was rather first kit I tried. I have made some other brews not from kits (only a few) and had about 50% success. You can do ginger beer in two or three days in two litre bottles. I followed the river cottage TH-cam video but didn’t use enough ginger. Refreshing but the flavour was threre but not there if you know what I mean so spoiled it. I think I’ll mic pc it with some good ginger pop.

      The volume wasn't the best but the tayste is there, not too strong but should get more pronounced over time, fingers crossed...I have seen the ginger beer kits but never tried one myself, I think I will do at some point as I like the drink and a bit of poke to it won't go a miss, good luck with your future brews mate, sounds like you have done some good ones so far :)

    Hi DDT mate really enjoy your videos I. On my third wilko Newkie brown batch was just wondering if you ever use beer finings to help clear it what’s the pros and cons , I u did use on my first two batches but was thinking of maybe not on my latest , also have you done a two can newkie brown as that’s what I’m doing at the moment

      Hi ya Steve, glad you like the video. Never done a two can as I have never thought the beer needed it but would like to see how it turned out thats for sure. I do use finings but not on darker beers just the lighter ones like cider where you need that crisp clear drink. I do double and have tripple filtered the darker beers in the past but not used finings often, The finings are good and do a good job but I leave them for around a week to get the best result and then filter it. Cheers mate :)

    I have done de labelling and it is the worst job in the world! If you do it in the winter in a cold garage it is even worse! Actually I am still doing it but I just like bottled beer and I don't keg my beer. However if you want a top class beer you have to put the effort in.

      True enought, the good beers are well worth the errort that's for sure. Evert time I look at the massive ammount of bottles that need sorting I cringe as I know whats in store...lol

    hi, I've been having capping 'issues' - which one do you recommend?

    • @ddoubletap3815
      @ddoubletap3815  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is like the one I use, but mine is a UK make, the wilko ones are real bad so have a look for one like this..
