- Releasing 20 April 2022 as part of the Aerosoft Mega-Airports series for Microsoft Flight Simulator is Brussels Airport (EBBR). A truly amazing amount of detail and accuracy plus a fully functional Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS). A first in this sim. This airport scenery sets the bar for add-on airports for the future.

Would you use the VDGS? For airline pilots it is a huge plus I think. Can be used with Vatsim etc.

I use VDGS at the payware Heathrow. Its the only reason I purchased that airport. Heathrow is huge in square area, and so is an fps hog. Apparently this airport Brussels is much more fps friendly.
Great review Mark, definitely a purchase come pay day. This really is another level in detail, immersion and the simulation of the airport enviroment itself. In VR this is going to be one to beat and as you say raises the bar which can only be a good thing for simmers as the other scenery publishers respond.

Saw a review earlier on this and was blown away by the massive step forward in realism. I am definitely going to buy but with the hope the same treatment might be eventually applied to Schipol/Amsterdam and Zurich.
great and best airport for msfs to get a realistic feel... With that vds system , they also could trigger passengers hopping on your plane thru the gate.....

A great video showcasing a brilliant job at creating Brussels Airport. Many thanks for that Mark. It always has amazed me the length of time the developers must 'waste' creating the interior of an airport. For me it's just time wasted because how many flight simmers are interested in the internal views? It's all about the external views, which are amazing!
I understand your point of view. For me looking from inside the cockpit and see the detailed interior through the glass with walking passengers adds to the realism.

Fabulous looking airport. It'd be even more immersive if you used AIG traffic.

I don't fly the techie airliners , just the old timers ( DC-6 etc ) and GA stuff so not sure i would or know how to use the VDGS ..lol
But this addon looks great i must admit..

Hi Mark, thanks for this extended overview of the Airport. I bought this addon yesterday (from Justsim) and like you showed it looks amazing. The only thing I can't figure out is how to get the App to show. You said shift+V would turn it on but unfortunately it doesn't show on my system. I already checked if the combination shift+V was bound elsewhere but it seems available. Any tips?

In this video you mention that you use another addon called "Simple traffic" ..has there been any updates to that program since your review? Specifically in regards to GA traffic and having to turn to 0 the amount of traffic?

Hey Centurion, nice to see you here. That's a good question, I'd also like to know if GA traffic has been added yet (or is planned at some stage).
Hi, there have been a number of updates, but you still need GA traffic set to 0…this app over-rides the setting with its own.

Beautiful new airport! But the emersion is less with Simple Traffic because they only add livery graphics to the existing Asobo default models. Those pointed nose cones are ridiculous. I use AIG Manager for all world liveries/models and routes.
Yes AIG is a great add on! Just seems to hit my fps a bit.
When I go to the airport my game seems like freezing and after a few minutes it came back
I haven’t experienced this. Check if now okay…if not clear your rolling cache.
I'm wondering how's the performance?
It does hit fps, but the impact for me was nominal. No major concerns.
It hits fps because of the fanc stuff inside the terminals etc. Sad that there is no configurator to disable stuff.
when u come closer to the terminals its hitting your fps. they runways are good..
Why is the VDGS on a separate app? If I recall, Flightbeam included a docking system back in FSX/P3d. I'm puzzled why Aerosoft don't include it in the airport? Can't see the link to the app in your notes?
Hi, it comes with the airport purchase. Not sure if Aerosoft will make it available separately?

This ok on Xbox
I have £20 in my Steam Funds yet, when I go to the MarketPlace and click on 'Buy & Download', my computer just says 'Pending' and hangs. Thus, I cannot download EBBR !
Log out by clicking on your tag top right, then log back in …sim will restart….this should sort it. I’ve had similar issues previously.
