  • Welcome to part 7 in my How To Guide Series. In this video we cover the sensitivity settings for controllers such as yokes, flight sticks and rudder pedals in Microsoft Flight Simulator. We delve into each configuration option to understand what they do and how they can help make our flight sim experience more realistic.

      Also too with your info I've played with it a bit for controller settings for Xbox and the rudder is good with a bit of dead zone plus less reactivity smoother sort of pedal feel I guess

      I have thousands of hours on A320/321 and in the sim,the roll and pitch rates should be much higher but I can't find any settings that make it close.
      If the roll rate was like the sim there's no way we could handle accurately in gusty crosswinds.
      Do you know of any settings that can considerably increase roll and pitch rates?

    Mark,
    I like to thank you for your time and effort bringing up these informative vids.
    As an older flight-simmer I appreciate the videos and they are still helpful.
    As I guess with this MSFS a new generation of virtual pilots will find your channel and value the content.
    All the best and I keep watching!

    First thing, your channel is amazing. Second thing, thank you once again for your help. I am relatively new to the alpha/bravo controls and this really helped with all my planes. The Seneca, Kodiak, CRJ's, Arrows, Zenith and the DC-6. I will probably tweak with these more but you left a good foundation to go off of. Thanks again.

    Well done,and thank you.

    Excellent advice - as usual. Thankyou and it was good to see the Cessna yoke mentioned. That one seems to have been lost across TH-cam but there are probably hundreds of people still using it, including me because of its full range of movement and very much smoother action than the standard Logitech/Saitek yoke.

      PS: If you haven't already, repeating the lesson with HoneyComb Alpha Flight Control and Thrustmaster TPR Pedals would be helpful. As you said, the resolution of the HoneyComb yoke is high. Ditto the Thrustmaster TPR rudder pedals.

    This tutorial was extremely helpful for my An225 on my Logitech F710 gamepad. I really learned how each setting works and now I'll be able to really make my planes flying like I'm expecting. The AN225 was flying like a paper plane, now it looks heavy and slow. I love it much. Thanks a lot for the tutorial.

    I’ve been meaning to fix the sensitivity and was also having trouble snaking down the runway (the rudder pedals have become a particular annoyance). Good to know that can be fixed. I tried to show my father this sim before I got all the sensitivity worked out, and he managed to do a few acrobatics (loops de loops) in the Cessna 172 because he was massively overcompensating for everything.

    (Google Translator)
    I have been the owner of Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo for a few days. I have been flying in flight simulators with joysticks for 15 years. Saitek, Thrustmaster and Titanwolf. Now everything has changed. I now control aileron and elevator with my left hand and thrust with my right. I knew all the buttons on the joystick by heart and found them blindly. With the Bravo and Alpha, however, I have to look and I am no longer 100% on the ball. Because of the new control units, I have to relearn how to fly even after many years of experience. Precise flying and safe landings are currently out of the question for me. I have already tried a few settings, but I still have a hard time with it. I will now test the changes shown in your video and hope that they will help me. Very good video and thumbs up. Happy Landings!

  • @AH-cn5li
    @AH-cn5li 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Brilliant video, thank you :) Your detailed explanation was extremely helpful :) I've been a MS Flight SImmer since FS4 and in later variants would always adjust the sensitivity settings. I've been simming in FSX for quite a while now with masses of addon scenery and all manner of mods and utilities, I've been a bit reluctant to jump over to FS2020.
    Within the last month I finally decided to install FS2020, given there's been a bit of time for bugs to be sorted and input from third party vendors and the community to make the whole experience more enjoyable. It's quite a whole new ball of wax though, and a bit of a learning curve familiarising oneself with it all.
    Thanks to your video I now understand where and how to adjust all these different sensitivity settings. I thought flying some planes was a bit way too touchy, thankfully now I've been able to make some adjustments and make the flying more enjoyable and realistic, as possible at least :P
    I still have a gripe over the trim in this sim though, despite spending quite some time adjusting the sensitivity settings on an axis controller on my Saitek X52, the trim is just way too sensitive and completely unrealistic. It seems it's something, going back through previous versions of flight sim, that MS has never been able to get a handle on and sort it out effectively, for some reason or another :P

  • @mancave-simpilot
    @mancave-simpilot ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well I have to say, revisiting this tutorial inspired me to get even more creative with my Saitek X52 in order to master that damn MILVIZ 310 and I absolutely NAILED it. Who would have thought to dial back the extremity as well as the sensitivity to achieve the result. Even my trim setting needed serious dialing back. End result = no more twitching and ballooning!! Smooth take offs and landings are now consistantly common.
    I ended up saving the new profile as GA AIRCRAFT because I am now nailing every landing with an assortment of C152, C310 and C414.
    You sir, have breathed new life into my flying yet again and I cannot thank you enough.

    Another great contribution to MSFS "Self Service", thx! Even if there are many different controllers out there, the provided presets with the linear sensitivities are a real bummer for every newbies to the sim. No wonder that many getting into it complaining about the bad flying physics, when they never got their inputs right. Asobo provided everything that's needed to adjust the controllers, that doesn't mean that they are userfriendly and i don't want to know the percentage of gamers disliking the simulator because of wrong input settings...

    Thanks for the video! Only main thing I can think of specifically is some vendors like VKB, Virpil, MFG and Thrustmaster like to use a separate calibration software instead of the Windows configurator (plus they give all of the firmware updates, special settings, etc.) But, yes more negative sensitivity for GA/heavy aircraft but more linear for stunt/military - really affects the precision/nulls input delays. Try a Spitfire or Extra on linear, they're much sharper (snap rolls and other aerobatics) and easier to control.
