@Easyjetsimpilot Hey JFYI, the Losless Scaling has been updated today to LSFG 2.2 ! Can you please do an update video about the significant changes? The smoothness with the new verison is incredible now, especially the cursor is now rendered to the targeted FPS! Also the FRAMEGEN arftifacts are heavily reduced!!! Thank you
Great one! Really finding good fps on flytampa amsterdam schiphol with fstl max traffic. On VATSIM easy going, was a quiet evening tonight at Amsterdam.
First time I tried this with msfs my pc crashed. So I tried again, freaked some of the settings and now my msfs is getting double the frames. Your right! It now does feel like it’s running on a better performance pc. For under £6 this is a game changer for me. Many thanks for the review and bringing it to my attention 😊
First I tried to set my pc with all the settings as shown on the video but my pc crashed the first time I tried them. So then I changed one setting at a time, clicked on it to run the setting, then while I all ready has msfs running you press ( shift + tab, or was it ctrl + tab) can’t remember so select the MSFS within the 5 second window. Then I checked frames plus lag, then I then tried other settings one by one to see what impact it had on my system. If I didn’t like it I quickly changed it back and tried something else. I have a gaming pc which is quite powerful but loading the Fenix into my paid Manchester airport with everything running would normally give me 18/25 fps. Now I’m getting around 32/48 fps, sometimes more. My pc could not cope with the x3 setting so I’m using x2 but it’s very smooth. So just make sure your frame counter is on so you can see the difference on your system and change and check what happens to your system with each change you make. Then hopefully you will get the desired results your after.
@@tigpotso oddly enough. After restarting the pc. No more lag. You can see maybe a little bit of textures following a plane that’s landing, but that’s really about it. Now I just have a really good frame rate so far. Went to Heathrow and it looks a little choppy, but it adjusted pretty quick
Had the same issue. Fraction choppy now and again but I think that’s our pc just trying to load everything in then the frames stabilise. Think you have to admit there’s far more expensive addons for msfs and for the price on the whole where getting a smoother ride. Of course if money was no object we would just have top of the range pc. But this program does seem to be giving us a better experience. I think for under £6. People would be silly not to at least give it a go. That’s not too expensive a loss if it doesn’t work out for anyone 😊
@@tigpot I’m thinking about getting a 4K monitor. Which ones HD and it has 4K rendering with DSR or something like that, but I don’t think it’s the same.
Can confirm it doesn't work with VR if using a streaming solution such as meta quest link, virtual desktop or Steam VR. Likely for the same reason you can't output the full frame generation in your streams at a guess... VR that purely uses a HDMI passthrough may be different but I can't get it to work... Edit: Lossless scaling is not supported with VR unless you can select your VR headset as your actual monitor. I used Quest 2 and Quest 3 and it doesn't work with any of those headsets via Oculus/Meta Link, SteamVR or VDXR. Also tried via link cable and this doesn't work.
@@CherokeeFlyer67 I must say it is a beautiful tool when not using VR though and for any other game outside of MSFS. Tools like this are a dream 😉 it's still worth every penny I would say!
Don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, but BATC seems to cause some stuttering when LLS is activated. I’ve reduced the scaling options and even switched on performance option, but the altimeter readout gets very jerky while BATCis either generating speech or actually speaking. Overall FPS is at least double even with lower settings deployed.
@Easyjetsimpilot You mention the importance of framerate and avoiding stutters in VR (0:50) which is all correct. But does this application work in VR? When I read on forums and steam page it looks like VR is not supported? Have you tested it in VR?
Tried this. It didn't work on my system (Nvidia 1660ti gfx). Brought frame rates down to 0 or 10/13 on the Draw Scale. Will be getting a refund from Steam.
I usually have my sim locked to 30fps (half refresh rate) which is smooth. This app gave me a steady output of 60fps and I can see no impact on the quality or anything else, so it's a win for me, as panning is SO much smoother. I am confused though as to whether or not I should leave my FPS unlimited in the Nvidia CP and also in MSFS. I currently have FPS unlimited in the Nvidia CP and the Vsync option turned off in MSFS. I have turned vsync on in the App and set to maximum refresh rate. This seems to work well.
Good morning. One question I have, did you download the Riva utility? I watched another video and it was recommended to assist with controlling your FPS on the upper end. For some reason I was able to download it, however, it wouldn't display the interface. Thank you!
No frame generation programs or mods work in VR. Also, VRR might stand for Variable Refresh Rate. Some monitors and TVs are VESA VRR compliant, which Freesysnc is.
I usually capture my game with GAME CAPTURE in OBS. Doesn't capture the boost. I tried Display Capture and it actually seems to negatively affect the framerate, just like using any overlays like SLC or FSHud ATC. Not sure why it is doing this, but when I do display capture, the native FPS ends up well above my monitor refresh rate and leads to poor performance (though the native rate for MSFS itself isn't any higher, so not sure what Lossless is grabbing at that point). I'm sure someone more brilliant than us will find solutions to these issues. I'm excited for smooth offline flying, but it would be nice to share it in video (I guess I can still at least have a smooth flight on my end and while it might be a little choppier for the viewers at least I'll be able to land, hah)
Not sure why the program doesnt see my RTX3060 card (only 'Auto" offered in the preferred GPU section) because in the Display fropdown it indicates the GPU as attached to the monitor (ie "1920x1080 (NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX3060) "-seems to work, anyway
Thanks for the video, it looks interesting, but I have a question for you. The low frame rates you are getting at JFK, is that with DLSS 2 turned on or off?
I've downloaded and tested the application. Yes, it does indeed increase FPS significantly, but a serious problem occurs with the screens-they freeze. I've tested it quite a bit with the FENIX A320, and it's impossible. The FCU or the MCDU freeze. When you switch the camera to an external view and then return to the internal view, it works. In other words, if you want to set a heading of 230, you'll move the switch, but the digits won't update until you switch the camera and return; then the digit will have updated. The same thing happens with altitude, speed, or any information. Any solution? Also, the EFB freezes or has display issues. Help!!
So it wasn't just me. Had this happen in the pmdg 737. Everything became unresponsive on short final. I could hear knobs turning but nothing on screen was moving. Displays were frozen as well. Had to ditch it.
@@GUnit2214Could you explain more about Auto FPS, please?Have no idea about proper settings and setup. With AutoFPS there’s no freeze? And a little bit less of expected performance?
@@dmz3035 You basically just need to set it to a achievable frame rate and the app will do the rest. Set it about 30/40 fps. 30 should be the best bet. The app will then gradually scale down or up your LOD setting in game (meaning object details and distance) in order to help you achieve that fps. For me it does indeed help a lot on approaches where i need that frame rate to be constant. Albeit you might notice a loss in quality but you'll barely be able to see it since you are already under 2000 ft and that's where the app kicks in and lowers distance detail to minimum. Check TH-cam for more details and settings, there are a lot of vids about it.
So VRR is something you apparently need to turn on if you have G-Sync or Freesync. I use Freesync and turned VRR on & off and didn't notice any difference...
Yes it doubles my frames as well. But it seems to have problems with text and sometimes i get flickering and lags as well. My system is a Lenovo i7-12700F, 32 GB RAM, 2 TB SSD, RTX3070. I play on a Asus 1440p 27 inch Gaming TUF Monitor at 144 Hz. I play at 2K Resolution at High to Ultra settings. I turned off VSYNC in MSFS, just set it at the NVIDIA Control panel to ON and max frame rate to half of the Monitor refresh rate so in my case 72 FPS. I do get problems when installing the new NVIDIA Drivers, that after installation MSFS won’t start giving me a Crash Message, when I reinstall the NVIDIA Driver from May 2024 it worked again, does someone have similar problems or does your MSFS work and starts with no issues with the latest drivers?
Tested again after reboot. Most definitively not ready at all! Had every 2 - 3 minutes complete freezes - alt-tabbing to other apps such as BATC also won't work / freeze. This is a waste of money - sorry to say!!
@@MerlinCH65 I agree, just purchased this and tried all settings but constantly freezes when either moving to another view or if left alone .. Seems like its system dependent?
Brought this program when it was on sale for £4.71. I thought at that price it’s worth a go. I fly from a Laptop (i7-12700h, RTX 3070ti) and it’s been a complete game changer for me. Here’s an example: Today I flew with IslandCreations Tenerife Scenery, Sim-Wings Tenerife South Airport, PMDG 737, FS Traffic models with FSFTL injector, Freeware Gatwick scenery, GSX and I was able to get 70FPS on the ground at Tenerife and 90FPS in the air and then high 50s at Gatwick. If you also pair this with AutoFPS, it’s even better.
I seem to randomly suffer from my mouse cursor/pointer going invisible if I access the menus at times. Using default settings for frame generation and scaling switched off. Any ideas as to why?
Hmm, doesn't work on my i7-8700, GTX1080, 16GB with one 4K monitor (with sim) and 2 full HD monitors... standard framerate is cut in half (from 18 to 9 at big airport+FenixA320) and the program doesn't quite double it back up - and it's lagging a lot and many visual artifacts... feel like I have tried all the different settings... Using version 2.11 - which instead has LSFG 2.3 and some other options have changed a bit...
DXGI = DirectX Graphics Interphase, I think. Intended for DirectX games, such as MSFS. WGI I believe is for other graphics APIs, hence why it doesn't work with MSFS.
I'm using AutoFPS, no issues there as AutoFPS is simply adjusting the detail settings. Basically what this program is doing is doubling (x2 option) or tripling (x3 option) the frames MSFS is putting out. So if you are getting 20 fps in MSFS, you'll get 40 or 60. Key thing I saw on another video is to limit your frames to half (this guy believes the 2x option is best) of your monitor's refresh rate minus one. So my frames are limited to 37, since my monitor refreshes at 75. Then when Lossless Scaling is running (I don't use the scaling, just the frame generation), if MSFS is maxing out the frames at 37, I'm getting 74. If you go over your monitor refresh rate, you get stuttering and issues. So AutoFPS is just affecting that native FPS MSFS is pumping out. It will help you at big airports stay in the 20+ FPS range hopefully which with the 2x will then keep your in a VERY comfortable 40+ FPS headed into a busy airport...which is INSANE for not having a beast CPU and GPU.
OK for just under £6, evaluating it at the moment but I've had a few screen freezes. Don't know if that is down to Lossless or not. Great video as always and thanks for the info.
@daveyoung2056 Confused me for half an hour too when I started using it. If not in view, the game will have an icon in the task bar if it is running. Just click on it within 5 secs of launching to bring it into view. Click draw to show original/new fps.
@@TheMicj38yes but he also mentiones VR in the beginning (0:50), which is a bit misleading since from what I understand this does nothing for VR as it only works in pancake mode.
When i activated the program, the screens/instruments for the Fenix A320 are very unstable, for example the Alt, speed are not being displayed correctly, any fix?
Hi, I have been using your videos for ages and it has helped me with MCDU in the NX. With the new upgrade I can’t get anything into the PERV I get TO SPEEDS TO LOW but I can’t find out any more as the FBY doc seams to be out of date. Help.
Eh hoped for the best but for me, it causes massive screen tearing and shimmering. Tried all the various V sync options including off, doesn't help remove them.
Great content but unfortunately this really doesn't work if you have to go to window mode and use other programs like AIG Traffic and SLC. It's pretty much impossible to minimize the MSFS window with Lossless running (even when window mode is selected) other than calling the task manager! The program has significant potential but it's not there yet, at least the way it worked for me!
When I use it with my screen recorder it turns into a slide show, the min:sec counter on the screen recorder dashboard skips 4 secs at a time, and upon playback, the video lags way behind the audio. Not ready for screen recording videos to put on TH-cam.
Seems to add a brownish tint to the image. At least the version on your right hand screen is definitely browner. Personally I don’t like it, but it did appear smoother.
Didnt work for me @KJFK payware... 5900X, RTX 3060ti, 32GB at 2580x1440p ultrawide. Sad. FS was giving 6 FPS and it brought to 16.. sometimes 22... but too laggy full sreen
Not sure if anyone else is getting this or if it’s something to do with my NVIDIA game filter settings but when I start the program it really messes up the exposure and contrast settings to the point where external views are unusable and the cockpit is completely in shadow. I think I’ve seen this kind of video capture issue happen when trying to screen capture for discord too, not sure if it’s related.

I have 50+ fps now.
My sim graphics settings:
Global rendering quality: Medium
Frame limit: 33% monitor refresh rate. This is the reason I've been getting a steady 20 fps before i got this tool, but now with this tool, i get 50+ fps
Graphics card: GTX 1650 4GB VRam.
Doesn't work with VR unfortunately, tested it today.
thx for letting know. I spare some frustration here ;)
And you messed with the mysterious 'VRR Mode' checkbox?
@@imacmillI’m going to and see if it doesn’t break gsync
@@imAgentR Shortly after my VRR question, I discovered it stands for Variable Refresh Rate, which would have nothing to do with VR.
Bummer. This would have been a great tool for getting more fps in VR.
Thank you
Total game changer for me. Thank you for making this video!!
Didn’t really work for me starts out ok then tanks to below my standard FPS tinkered with the various settings after with no real change.
Many thanks for the review and bringing it to my attention 😊
what did you do because fps looks ok. but lag is an issue
Thanks that was my first question - you saved me $10 :)
@Easyjetsimpilot
You mention the importance of framerate and avoiding stutters in VR (0:50) which is all correct. But does this application work in VR? When I read on forums and steam page it looks like VR is not supported? Have you tested it in VR?
We need an answer to this question I was just about to download until VR was questioned
VRR is for Variable Refresh rate. G-Sync in that case. With the new update you can put the generation to X4
i exspect you came up with some thing and how you use it on VR. I cant get this working at all on VR. please make a tutorial how its works
Tried this. It didn't work on my system (Nvidia 1660ti gfx). Brought frame rates down to 0 or 10/13 on the Draw Scale. Will be getting a refund from Steam.
On pc it glitches so much when i land it wont stop stuttering
I usually have my sim locked to 30fps (half refresh rate) which is smooth. This app gave me a steady output of 60fps and I can see no impact on the quality or anything else, so it's a win for me, as panning is SO much smoother.
I am confused though as to whether or not I should leave my FPS unlimited in the Nvidia CP and also in MSFS. I currently have FPS unlimited in the Nvidia CP and the Vsync option turned off in MSFS. I have turned vsync on in the App and set to maximum refresh rate. This seems to work well.
So why doesn't msfs, xplane /NVidia, AMD etc buy LSI and incorporate it into the simulators or GPU board????
I think VRR means Variable Refresh Rate. So things like G-Sync or Freesync.
Good morning. One question I have, did you download the Riva utility? I watched another video and it was recommended to assist with controlling your FPS on the upper end. For some reason I was able to download it, however, it wouldn't display the interface. Thank you!
@@garywiley7886 I personally didn't.
Thanks for this video. I purchased this program. It improved the fps significantly. I have replicated.your settings
and how you record the video? seems only OBS works
Hey Gav. are you still capping your sim when using lossless scale?
This software is incredible! I cannot believe it’s only £6! It’s a must. Thanks for sharing 👍
You were robbed! I paid £4.71 last week.😅
Any solution for using Lossless with SLC or PACX?
Not sure why the program doesnt see my RTX3060 card (only 'Auto" offered in the preferred GPU section) because in the Display fropdown it indicates the GPU as attached to the monitor (ie "1920x1080 (NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX3060) "-seems to work, anyway
The mouse over text actually says... VRR option no longer works and is deprecated.
I used the same settings as you. I zoomed around with the drone at the new KSFO with FSTL injection running and it felt very smooth.
Is it possible to play with this in a windowed mode?
@@GUnit2214 That’s right. And makes sense. Such a tragedy 🎭
@@dmz3035 Oh well. At least Auto FPS gives me the comfort i crave to land a plane in more complex sceneries 😁
VRR - I assumed its related to Variable Refresh Rate on TV’s with HDMI 2.1 and nothing to do with virtual reality?
This work wonders on my system. Double my frame rate from 30 fps to 60. I use the x2 setting. The only problem I'm having is my cursor is very laggy.
Careful!!!! It completely froze my PC - black screen - had to hard reset!! Will try again but that doesn't look good at all!!
Seems like its system dependent?
thank you so much!!! real game changer. it feels like i got 3000 euro pc upgrade for 6 euro. amazing
You can always use AFMF in RX 6000+ GPU's in order to enable frame generation.
Brought this program when it was on sale for £4.71. I thought at that price it’s worth a go.
I fly from a Laptop (i7-12700h, RTX 3070ti) and it’s been a complete game changer for me. Here’s an example:
Today I flew with IslandCreations Tenerife Scenery, Sim-Wings Tenerife South Airport, PMDG 737, FS Traffic models with FSFTL injector, Freeware Gatwick scenery, GSX and I was able to get 70FPS on the ground at Tenerife and 90FPS in the air and then high 50s at Gatwick. If you also pair this with AutoFPS, it’s even better.
Would this work for VR through Virtual Desktop? i could definitely use another 10 or 20 to make recorded video's a bit smoother.
Which APP? Do you have a link for me?
thanks
DXGI = DirectX Graphics Interphase, I think. Intended for DirectX games, such as MSFS. WGI I believe is for other graphics APIs, hence why it doesn't work with MSFS.
Only it gets smooth when I turn off HDR in Lossless Scaling but then, I get bright Colours and his Contrast in game....
Thanks for discovering this and breaking it down in simple terms. By the way, did you run it on top of AutoFPS?
Hello, when I use lossless scalling, the geforce experience does not work for me to take photos or record.
OK for just under £6, evaluating it at the moment but I've had a few screen freezes. Don't know if that is down to Lossless or not. Great video as always and thanks for the info.
do you press scale to turn it on
I’m getting this message after clicking scale, select game window, any ideas please also can’t see the Frame counter
you have to have to click in the game and be in the game while the 5secs countdown is going down
When you say click in the game, can you explain more please 🙏
@daveyoung2056 Confused me for half an hour too when I started using it. If not in view, the game will have an icon in the task bar if it is running. Just click on it within 5 secs of launching to bring it into view. Click draw to show original/new fps.
My bro, VRR stands for Variable RefreshRates, some monitors (or some settings) has it. Majority of ppl can leave it on OFF.
There is a summer steam sale in a few days so this program will be discounted even further for those who want to spend even less 👍
Thank you. You have mencioned VR. Does this app work on VR?
Doubt it Vr has AWS etc its the same sort of tech as far as i no thats where they had it from VR has had it from day one
The VRR he was mentioning is Variable Refresh Rate and not VR
@@TheMicj38yes but he also mentiones VR in the beginning (0:50), which is a bit misleading since from what I understand this does nothing for VR as it only works in pancake mode.
Unfortunately It stutters a lot with SLC addon self loading cargo.
In GPU, it only appears "automatic" and not my graphic card
When i activated the program, the screens/instruments for the Fenix A320 are very unstable, for example the Alt, speed are not being displayed correctly, any fix?
VRR stands for variable refresh rate, its to support monitors with VRR
How does this work with 4K resolution compared with 1920x1080 as shown here?
Hi, I have been using your videos for ages and it has helped me with MCDU in the NX. With the new upgrade I can’t get anything into the PERV I get TO SPEEDS TO LOW but I can’t find out any more as the FBY doc seams to be out of date. Help.
Eh hoped for the best but for me, it causes massive screen tearing and shimmering. Tried all the various V sync options including off, doesn't help remove them.
same, it’s really annoying, i thought i was getting something good here
Great content but unfortunately this really doesn't work if you have to go to window mode and use other programs like AIG Traffic and SLC. It's pretty much impossible to minimize the MSFS window with Lossless running (even when window mode is selected) other than calling the task manager! The program has significant potential but it's not there yet, at least the way it worked for me!
This is why I couldn't get Streamlabs to record it due to the way it displays on screen.
Aha, so this will be an issue for Beyond ATC then, I guess.
@@PeterESSA yes!
Can you enable vr while using this
Does it clash with the NVIDIA frame gen engine?
it stacks with it
When I use it with my screen recorder it turns into a slide show, the min:sec counter on the screen recorder dashboard skips 4 secs at a time, and upon playback, the video lags way behind the audio.
Not ready for screen recording videos to put on TH-cam.
What’s it like at Heathrow mate, I have an RTX 4080 and it still struggles at this Airport ✈️

Seems to add a brownish tint to the image. At least the version on your right hand screen is definitely browner. Personally I don’t like it, but it did appear smoother.

Sad.

Why so manny lag when I’m running mfs2020 with the lossless scaling
The colour radically changed when I switched it on. And cannot make it work on 3 screen setup 😢
Does lossless scaling provide the image of the simulator, for example, if we use reshade, will lossless scaling also show us the reshade? :)
So can you improve your graphic settings with this as essentially your going to get better FPS?
Not sure if anyone else is getting this or if it’s something to do with my NVIDIA game filter settings but when I start the program it really messes up the exposure and contrast settings to the point where external views are unusable and the cockpit is completely in shadow. I think I’ve seen this kind of video capture issue happen when trying to screen capture for discord too, not sure if it’s related.
Does it work for VR?
No from what is said on steam, I suspect the FG doesn't work for the same reason Nividia's FG doesn't work VR.
Do u have any idea why my graphics twitch everytime I press ''scale'' and it does work but then the graphics start twitching in msfs, any idea why this may be caused?
