What unit/clan is this?
Honestly, these guys were all just gathered up by me on the day from like, 6 different places. However, we've since formed the most official unofficial unit - the Cadian XXth. Casual milsim, roleplay and all those weird ops that you never get to play in your normal milsim group. Find out more in the discord.
What is this mod?
It was a combination of Iron Front ArmA, Faces of War and SAB Planes.
Are you SovietWomble?
I bloody wish. Video definitely has inspiration from the likes of Soviet and Max0r, but I try to strike a nice line for telling a story, humorous edits and actual gameplay. For something like this, I don't feel the need to edit in every word said. Plus, I edited this in a day, so time constraints were another issue.

Idk what you are talking about it clearly had a yellow nose and was a bf-109, I saw no obvious d-day stripes I don't know what you are talking about.
@@Talcor It's definitely a P-51 if you look again at 1:25 you can see the white vertical stripes on the wings and you can even make out the US air-force insignia on the left wing tip. It also has flat wing tips and the profile is completely wrong for a 109. (Some of the early 109's did have flat wing tips as well but most of the later ones had rounded wingtips.)

@@TheAngrySaxon1 basically. Americans were used to big jugs of p-47, so when p-51s came along they confused them for 109s all the time. That's why they painted those giant ass black and white stripes everywhere, i guess it wasn't enough

@@tedarcher9120 basically like a medal of dday and to help identify which nation a plane is from as the Americans used the stripes the British had a softens colored stripes but I can't remember but in the end they were made as a medal/ allied identifier and not as thing to help bomber crews to identify the p47 and p51

If it helps, you can use X to activate airbrakes (works on all planes, looks real sick on the SBD with its divebrakes, since you're clearly using Sab's Secret Weapons) and if you set all your crews to already be riding the plane, you can reassign the bombing work to the nose gunner via EDEN's pylon settings (he gets a fixed bombing crosshair that auto-adjusts depending on flight speed and altitude). Additionally, did your paras use the static line paradrop available with IFA's C-47?

It looks like Scarum was blinded by the sun, which was very bright, and couldn't see you very well. Not that he couldn't have avoided you, but it would have been harder considering this same B-17 pulled two 30* climbs off the runway, dive bombed targets like a fighter, and the pilot switched seats like taking shots.

hey Rimmy I think you made a miss call on a plane at 1:26, you said "Germans 283-283" but the plane was not a BF-109 but it was actually a P-51D "Mustang" American fighter aircraft, you can tell by the invasion stripes, wing shape, and overall silhouette.

I know the feeling I was coming in with a Huey doing a hot exfiltration on a squad that survived like 7 waves of heavy contact. I was the last chopper airworthy. Command called in and said this is the only helicopter available if it crashes or blows up its mission failed. I was doing a textbook touch and go landing then I pressed ALT to look around while pressing Z to descend it minimized my game. When I got back I was sideways and hit a grain silo blowing up and the mission failed. I was so close to getting that victory for us but shadow play fucked me. The lesson is to rebind your shadow play and or controls.

Question: How is Rimmy not being affected by ACE's G-Forces?
We can see Scarmu got knocked out by them at one point and near the end of the video Rimmy did a similar maneuver but had no G-Force effects.
I'm actually really curious because I can't fly for shit in ACE due to said G-Forces.

Use the highest speed when trying to get off a runway.
Back in 'OFP1' I learnt I needed 300km/h at minimum to take off, and an afterburner had too much force, simply crashing me into whatever was after the runway.
But whether those apply to 'Arma 3' I dunno just yet cuz I never learnt how to land a plane, so I haven't tried in 'A3'. I've the theory down, but getting the thing to slow down at a correct timing is hard, I'll just get shot down or crash.
