  • in this weeks fundraising video i take a look at the would-be conquerors of Krios. The klingon Fleet of the 22nd century. During the span of the Enterprise tv show we see a wide range of very distinct klingon ships, giving us an image of a rather eclectic Klingon fleet in this period. but is this seemingly irregular force capable of something more than petty raiding?
    We shall see...

The Klingons here are indeed making a quite the effort in the 22nd century to pronounced themselves as one of the new major powers of the Beta Quadrant. It does show how they are catching up with the older powers, slower than the Humans are, but with more of a head start to do so. It has been interesting to watch all of these videos between the Kriosians and Klingons.

The klingons came out swinging it seems, the strategy of aggressive militarisation could have very easily backfired with the older races going for them to stop the emerging power. But it seems that the dice landed exactly the way they needed them to land and jumped the klingons up the scale of galactic power. Their development of photon torpedo's and disruptors permanently changed the battlespace in their favour, and it would take until the Earth-Romulan war before the galaxy started to follow this doctrine.

@@177SCmaro The Klingons are aggressive I will give them that but if you show great power to the the Klingons with your own aggressiveness of large and powerful ships that sucker punch them from time to time like the Romulons do to let them know who is daddy with their over sized war birds the Klingons seem to stay on their own side of the border and respect you. The problem with Starfleet is with Klingons is they show weakness by playing nice with them. The UFP needs to take a page from the Romulons handbook with their galaxy class starships and give them a nose bleed when needed. Klingons are like unruly kids that get out of hand and run over you if you don't spank them and put them in their place.

There was meant to be a D4 in Star Trek Enterprise. The team made up a new CGI model to be used as Vorok's battle cruiser, in the fifth episode of season one called "Unexpected". The producers didn't use it due to "the windows not being prominent enough" and due to time constraints a redesign couldn't be done so they went on to use a K't'inga, a ship that wouldn't be made in Canon until the 2270s.
