Yup, same issue here. Took ownership of a 2024 Ioniq 5 Limited about two weeks ago, and the Bluelink has never worked. On the control panel in the car, it shows that the service expires on the day that it was activated, exactly the same behavior as in the video. On the Hyundai owner's page, everything is listed correctly. In the app and on the web page it shows the car with 22 miles, 100% battery charge, and geolocated at the dealership - so it must have connected once, and that was it.
I called the support number, and they had me reset the panel, etc., none of which of course worked. They said they were going to submit a ticket and someone would get back to me in a few days. It's been over a week and I haven't heard anything.
I'm really glad you posted this; I've been assuming it was an issue with the dealer, who's been very nice (I bought a 2023, but a 2024 is what arrived, so they ate the $750 price increase) but they clearly were struggling with this newfangled horseless carriage and the witchcraft it entails. So this is actually great to know that it's not on them, because I was skeptical they had the skills to fix this in anything resembling a timely manner.
As an aside, I'm baffled why they don't allow a direct wifi connection - our Hondas would connect to our home wifi, and it made OTA updates way faster and easier. Both the Oct and Nov nav updates downloaded and patched smoothly on their own, but man, it's an inefficient use of bandwidth.

Thank you for updating us on this issue! I have a new 2024 Ioniq 5 and am having the same issue. The Bluelink+ app worked for a few days after picking up the vehicle on 10/25/23 but then when I received the OTA map/software update on 11/2 it wiped out all my car settings and disconnected the Bluelink+. I tried several times to reconfigure it in the car within the Bluelink settings but nothing worked. I called Bluelink support and was given a ticket number on 11/2/23. They asked for my modem information and said I should hear back in 7-10 days. I called back around day 8 and was told that my ticket went over to the IT department on 11/8/23 and that it would be 7-10 days from when IT gets the ticket. I haven’t heard from anyone on a resolution yet. I’m still waiting. My Bluelink expiration date is showing the date I picked up the car 10/25/23, my activation state is ENROLLED. Hope to hear back soon. I’m new to EVs and this is frustrating. Thanks for your content as I’m learning a lot from your channel.

I had this problem on a 2023 ioniq 6. For 3 weeks could not get it to work ore the free EA charging. The dealer in Mcdounough ga was awesome about it and they took the car back with 1200 miles on it and gave me a new one. That one worked instantly.

I'm glad to hear that it's not just my car. I probably won't use bluelink after it's fixed so at this point it's not critical. I spoke with my dealer today and he said hyundai is aware of the problem.

So I had this problem after updating to the most recent navigation software. When I would pull up the side screen that should show the current status of charging stations nearby, it would say I needed to activate bluelink to see the status. When I went to the bluelink screen, it showed enrolled but with an expiration date of the date I purchased the vehicle. Activating it from the bluelink screen did not resolve the problem. I ended up contacting bluelink and submitting a trouble ticket.. Ultimately they were able to correct the issue without my intervention after providing them my bluelink modem information. It took about three weeks before it was resolved.

Not only a Hyundai problem. My 2023 Electrified GV70 had this same problem back in May 2023. The expiration date listed was the purchased date. Had to get Genesis concierge service involved who opened a service ticket and they reprogrammed the new date to May 2026 with an over the air update to fix the problem.

I almost feel like if car makers are going to be making these [less than impressive] software implementations, and then plan to charge monthly for it after you've paid so much money for the car they should be mandated to include it in the 5 year ownership cost on the window sticker. Additionally if they are going to be charging monthly 2 or 3 years down the road I sure hope Hyundai intends to aggressively keep older cars updated! I have a rental Toyota Corolla at the moment while traveling and it has wireless carplay/android auto that works flawlessly, which is more than I can say for my 2022 Ioniq 5 which barely works wired. One of the biggest reasons to seek AA/Carplay is to always have the most updated mapping and music apps, and my 2022 is floundering already....

    Hey Corbin.
I have a '23 I5, std BlueLink and recently contacted BlueLink as well and got a ticket in bc:
    A) after the Nav update it did not show any details of nearby charging stations. Instead, it said to activate BlueLink to see it (even though all BL services are active). This feature is now working as of Mon
    B) when listening to HD radio there is a button/icon in top right of screen and when touched it states to contact BL CS to activate BL (not sure what it does though)
    C) contrary to your video in my BL settings the expiration date is the purchase date of the car but in the MyHyundai website it states the correct expiration date.
So, BL issues are not confined to '24 or I6.
    Keep up the good work.
    Thanks.

Ioniq 5 Limited 2024 owner (purchased 10/21). Bluelink worked great until an OTA update on 11/3. Afterwards, I lost profile settings and can't connect to sever anymore. I put in a ticket but have yet to get an update.

Edit: they finally connected my bluelink after 3 weeks. Maybe others are fixed too.
Yep this happened to us about 2 weeks ago. We put in a ticket and waited 10 business day for them to call back and ask us to do the exact same thing as the first time we called with no success. Then they said it ll be another 10 business days before someone will reach out again. This is my introduction to Hyuandai. What a disappointment. Next week Friday, i bet they ll call me back for exact same thing to extrend 2 more weeks. Im glad we leased this. And we definitely wont come back to Hyundai again.
Ps dont waste your time calling them before 2 weeks are up, they will not be able to do anything. No escalation path until at least 2 months is what they told me.

Corbin, I owe you an update. My 2023 Ioniq5 Limited was doomed to encounter the ICCU issue which resulted in the car being at the dearlership’s service dept for 148 days. At around 120 days, I instituted conversations with Hyundai to buy back the car, which I had purchased. It wasn’t a difficult process, but it did take almost 2 months to complete. They reimbursed every payment, the deposit, and the registration, then used a CA formula to deduct the 12000 miles I put on the car. 2 days after the buyback was completed, I leased a 2024 Ioniq5 Limited. My wife (who’s never cared about cars before) and I loved the car so much, that even with all my research on alternative EVs, I went ahead and leased another one. Going from a purchase to a lease cut my payments by 45%! FYI, I’m also having issues with Bluelink and they told me that I’d be contacted by someone in a few weeks. Still haven’t heard from them, but it’s not impacting the drivability, which is magical.

Thanks for raising awareness, I have one of the affected 2024 Ioniq 5’s and in a couple more days I’ll have had more days without BlueLink than with. Another oddity is that I have full use of my WiFi hotspot currently in a 3 mo trial, so the hardware/modem is obviously working to at least that extent, making me believe this is entirely a software issue, or as you mentioned an issue on the server/Hyundai’s end.

Way better app? Walkaway locks that hyundais dont have? Im just baffled. People will go for an inferior car against logic and reason. Hi5 is cool
Car but the issues are just too much already hyundai as a brand has a ways to go to be on par w tesla. I wouldn’t doubt a major battery scandal for hyundai EVs in coming years. The design of the batteries is why.

Same issue. The dealership updated the Bluelink Plus as we were taking delivery last week. Bluelink Plus was bricked when we took delivery. We spoke to Bluelink support last evening and they have no idea when the issue will be resolved. They indicated that they have our ticket in the system, but no action has taken place. I suspect that Hyundai pushed a firmware update that was not fully evaluated. Hopefully, they can correct the problem over the air and not require a trip to the dealership. Although you would think a rollback to the previous version would serve as a temporary fix.

Simply starting BlueLink for our 2024 Ionia 5 failed with an “Oops - something went wrong “ error. Our sales rep opened the call with support. After 2+ weeks, it just started working. The main benefit is a reduction in insurance premiums for the “find my car and disable my car” features. Also, the “call 911” following a crash sounds OK. Hope I never need to use any of them.

Online and at the dealer, my Bluelink looks fine. In the car it says it's expired. No response yet from: 1. Online MyHyundai, where I left a message: No answer. 2. Call to Hyundai yields: I should get a response within 1 week. Not a good response from Hyundai.

That means a software glitch is going to be with you for at least 7 business days. I called them on day 9, and they said there is absolutely nothing they can do until day 10. Day 10 they called back and asked me to perform the exact diagnosis as day 0, Then they said it'll be another 10 business days before they can say anything. So don't make the same mistake I did.

At least you have the opportunity to activate it, and it is a problem with your programming and you can work that with service.
Here in Puerto Rico, neither Hyundai or Genesis or Kia will activate the Bluelink on any of the cars sold here in Puerto Rico. They have been telling us a lot of excuses, but the truth is that the distributor don't want to pay for the service. And the price of the cars include the service.

Just posting more information on my case. I bought my 2024 Ioniq 5 Limited on 1/19/2024… and still having this problem. I've talked to a rep at the "Bluelink Help" line, and she guided me through all the usual steps to try and get it working, including resetting the system with a paper clip twice -to NO avail. Oddly, when I sign onto my Hyundai account on the web, it says I so have Bluelink, yet the odometer reading for my car says "6" miles -so it obviously hasn't been updated after I left the dealership. The rep has submitted a "ticket" for me, and said that it takes 7 to 10 days for the "engineers" to look at the problem and fix it. NO word from them so far. It certainly looks like this is a serious problem on Hyundai's end which they need to fix! NOW!

Unfortunately many state's laws specify the issue must significantly impair the use, value, or safety of the vehicle. I doubt a subscription to a premium add-on service would qualify, at least in Texas where I live. Your mileage may vary....

I have good news and bad news. The good news: it's not $12.99/month.
The bad news? There are three packages in Bluelink, each of which offer different non-overlapping features. Connected Care, Remote and Guidance. Each package costs $9.90, so you are looking at a cost of up to $29.70 per month. It's insane that they think people will actually pay for this service.

Bluelink and also digital key is garbage. It was great when I bought the I6 back in August. Now it's garbage. When I called Bluelink they told me to call the dealer and have them call to request them to release the RDR so it can be activated. Hyundai also lost my contract so my dealer had to overnight the paperwork so they could create my lease so I could pay my 2nd month.

I own a MY23 limited. The expire date of BL has always stated May-11-2023 the day I purchased it however all BL functions correctly. However with the new update it is telling me to activate BL to see more details about chartering stations etc. I have a ticket into Hyundai that they have been working on for weeks related to the new update. I suspect now that may be my issue with the new update but I'm able to; remote start/climate, lock/unlock, see car status and I get most of the features of BL in the car. I don't think I have ever had the calendar sync but my understanding is that feature is "down for maintenance" and has been for months. My digital key also works just fine. I'm wondering what will happen when my 3-years are up? Will it just keep going? As it is now I don't think I am missing much except for some of the new update features most of which are just fine. Chargers in my area have no status but when I search outside my state they do show status so who knows...

    • @DirkBraeuer
      @DirkBraeuer 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Same as yours. My '23 I5 also shows purchase date as exp. date. Nearby or favorite Charger status works as of yesterday.
The only thing that doesn't work and tells me to call BL CS to activate BL is the little orange icon next to the HD Radio icon when listening to HD radio stations (not sure what it would do though).
I put a BL ticket in a few weeks ago, no call back yet.

Saturday I received an E-mail from Hyundai stating the my 3-month Verizon hot spot trial had started. It gave me a blank SSID and password to use. Interestingly there is a hot spot feature and trial added to my on-line BL account. Except that the I5 has no hot spot capability? I checked out the car an my BL expire date is now set to May of '26 and the new charger functions in the map work correctly. However Hyundai Pay tells me to contact BL support to activate where before it was working (or at least was letting me on-board if I so desired). I can only assume they are slowly getting to all of us that have had odd BL issues lately. I will wait for them to E-mail/call me back about my case and ask them about the hotspot. Would be nice to know if they are adding that as I had heard rumors. However I don't/didn't want to activate it just yet. Maybe wait for a road trip where I could take advantage of it. I assume that this is what fixed my error saying to activate BL to see charging station details.

In reality - this is one of the weakest things in Hyundai and Kia (and one would also assume Genesis) - the app.
Friend bought an EV6 and after 1 year the software expired and became a monthly subscription.
So he can no longer remotely lock his vehicle and he lives in a highrise - so it is not like he can just walk outside to check if the vehicle is locked.
Tesla really has all the other manufacturers beaten with their app and software performance.
