As a young couple in their seventies a better choice might have been the Flagstaff Micro lite 25ks. Large bathroom, Murphy bed/couch, very spacious, two exits and weighing in at 4850 pounds. We pulled this rig many times into the mountains with a 2017 Ford F150 2.7 eco boost from Florida to all the tourist hot spots out west. With trips to the “UP” then west across the top of the country. Average mileage was 9-11 miles per gallon.

In my 35 plus years of camping ⛺️ I have just about had all types of campers from popups to a 32’ Fifth-wheel. And I can say they all have their pros and cons! I think you’re right with the size and being the perfect couples camper! I now have a 25’ Micro Lite Travel Trailer and wished I got the 20’! Cause as you get older it’s easier to take care of and tow!! Just my opinion guys safe travels from a very early fan!! And God Bless America 🇺🇸

There are so many great campers, but we wanted to start smaller on a travel trailer to make sure we don’t limit our site options!

Can you show us how you take care of your water system? How to dump both grey & black, and any secrets you've learned? Never have traveled in or own one. Very interested in learning. So appreciate the tidbits, so far, like height of ground clearance.

I'm pleased to hear that you have such a favorable opinion of the trailer now that you have been in it for a while. I hope the doubt is gone. I don't think that you mentioned it, but the dinette also makes into a bed, which is where the curtain becomes usefull to create a little privacy if you have a guest. Seeing your trailer makes me miss my 2015 1708FB. I wish I could send you photos of how different my interior decor and outside logos looked.

Why were against a tip out?
Can you flip the shackles to raise the body from the axles?
Does the fridge have a fan inside to move the air?
If not, try a battery fan. It will help keep the temps even through the fridge and helps keep freezing problems down.

Great camper guys love it. My wife and I live in Alberta Canada and purchased an autumn ridge 235fb 2012 travel trailer in 2021 and absolutely love it. We try camping every chance we get and enjoy it very much. I have learned everything about this trailer and know it front to back. 2 years ago, we drove across Canada for a family visit for a little over 3 weeks. 2 of them were on the road boondocking. We put in about 8000km in 3 weeks total. When I fully retire, we intend to travel a lot more. Keep living your dreams guys and enjoy life the most you can.
    Cheers 😊

We kept downsizing! Salesmen always talked my dad into stuff too big--starting with a 17' Fireball trailer, too hard for him to attach and detach alone as he got older. All we wanted was a teardrop like our cousins all had--they were camping constantly! We kids finally bought a big canvas tent with green stamps we collected from neighbors, even bought all the amenities--maybe the neighbors like having us gone? We used that thru college.
My father bought a truck & camper that we enjoyed the most, traveling and just taking it to the beach so we didn't have to go home at night(for a week or more...). Used it forever, even for my honeymoon in Yosemite's high country.
My sister and I bought a pop-up tent that was perfect for 2 girls. That way, I could go camping several times throughout summer months even tho I worked long hours.
I married a guy who said he loved to camp, but when I dragged him to look at trailers, I learned that bear paw prints in our Yosemite campsite (we were safely up in the bunk, sound asleep tho I wish I'd been awake to see!) after he cooked and ate a steak, scared him so badly, I never got to camp again until I divorced him. Bought another pop-up tent because I had no clue such tiny trailers existed as I see here. Now, I'm old, poor, and stay home.😂🤣😂🤣😂

We started to watch your channel when an earlier one, shortly after you got your Mini-Winnie popped up. We have a 2018 version we bought new in 2018. It is basically identical just a difference in some components like a standard water heater and different control panel and radio. The fridge is 6 cubic feet not 10. You'd need to get a 12 volt fridge to get 10 cubic foot, we did that conversion in our 34 foot 5th wheel. We take our Micro Minnie often because, as you've found out, you go pretty much anyplace you want with the small size. We take our 5th wheel when we're going to stay someplace for a longer time, more room can be nice! We also have 200 watts of solar, 200 amp hours of batteries and a 2000 watt inverter in ours. In such a small space 2000 watts is a whole house system. We primarily dry camp or boondock in our travels, and it's really nice being "plugged in" wherever we go. Big solar system in our 5th wheel also. When that stock a/c unit dies, as ours already did due to a coolant leak, we would highly recommend the Houghton 13,500 btu unit as it is so quiet compared to the stock unit, which was so loud you couldn't have a conversation if you had the a/c running on a hot day. Even on high you can talk or listen to music without everything blasting! As you probably know the outside speakers are things to cover holes in the wall, they're the worst speakers ever. To me the shower is the worst thing in the very tiny bathroom, but we made it more easily usable by taking out the stock curtain and track, getting a new bendable track and making a better, slightly larger shower stall with a couple of standard shower curtains. Still, no where as nice as our 5th wheel, but it makes it work! We also carry a macerator pump to help in tank dumping since with the dump so low on the trailer it can often be too low, and since the stuff doesn't run uphill very easily, we just pump it out with the pump on those occasions.
Anyway, it has been a solid small trailer that you can't really over load and I would never have a single axel travel trailer for just safety reasons. But we really like ours and have been very happy with our choice. It's just me, my wife, and our two mini-doxies in our travels. We'll keep watching your travels!

Thanks for following along! They’re sure great campers, we’ve been loving ours thus far! Good idea on the shower tracks, we’ll be looking into that for sure. And agreed on the pump being too low, I’m sure the pump works wonders!

To help your refrigerator be more efficient. Add a fan set up to your fins and one at the bottom to circulate the air. It’ll work a lot more efficiently. Happy and safe camping.

We did that and added a small computer fan inside. We powered it with a portable battery (on the outside) until hubs added USB ports that we can turn off and on with a switch. It definitely helps. We also put in Sensor Push temperature monitors so we can turn the internal fan on if the temp is creeping up.

My parent's RV is almost a flipped version of yours. Two major differences, they have a pantry right as you come in the door and next to that their fridge about where your closet is. Then instead of a dinette seating they have a couch with a folding table tucked behind it that becomes their dinning table. Their kitchen is where your dinette is, and your kitchen is where their couch is. Their model has less storage, but otherwise has been fantastic for the occasional weekend trips. I think you're going to love it. I'm going to have to share this with them, I think they'd get a kick out of it.

I love the layout of this camper! I'm always looking to see how creative manufacturers can be with small spaces that still have the minimums, which for me are a dry bath and decent sized black/grey/fresh tanks. If you're not full-timing smaller is much more flexible for locations. We've got a small class C for similar reasons. Very nice guys, thanks!

  • @jimhaxton1982

Glad you like your tow behind. Here's my take after being in a lance 1010 for 6 yrs full time. I'm 18 feet inside front to back. Never store anything in my wet bath. Cross ventilation is great, ac is 13500 easily ran by a built in propane generator at 60 decibals when both are running . Myself I use about half the available storage. I designed and built a little wood stove which heats for free too. I would not be able to get a trailer into the places that you could get that truck camper into either. Odd how that trailer is a foot shorter. My bed is a full queen . And I can tow my rail well. I have an old 96 3/4 ton pwr stroke to haul it. I really admire the camper you had. Nice set up. 1 step larger is all the adjustment you would have needed, just my opinion of course happy travels, I'll be watching.

very nice tour. Our trailer is a bit bigger, but I love travelling in a trailer that is not too big. We do a lot of state, National, and provincial parks and it is nice to fit in all of these. Dry bath is nice, fully agree that after having gotten used to that, it would be challenging to go back to a wet bath I think, although a lot of folks make that work just fine. We enjoy our oven too. Lots trailers never see the oven get lit, but honestly we probably use ours 2 days out of 3 that we are on the road. Actually lots of trailers are now offering convection microwaves in place of the oven, but we would miss our gas oven. You commented on the dual axle trailer. We actually spent 3 years towing a single axle trailer roughly the size of yours, and honestly it worked out just fine. Eventually got a bigger trailer so there was no choice but to have tandems, but I can honestly say it did not change the towing experience in any great way. Looking forward to follow your upcoming travels.. Stay safe..

A perfect couples camper is whatever is perfect to the couple that is buying it. I would respectfully disagree that this camper is a perfect couples camper, as having owned 11 travel trailers, I would have to say a perfect "couples" camper is something without a bed where you have to climb over your partner. I've owned both in the past. I would also never purchase a camper with a Dometic non-ducted A/C, they have a poor design flaw that restricts air to the front of the unit. If choosing non-ducted, choose a Coleman Mach A/C. For size and cost, I would suggest something like a Flagstaff 21FBRS. I purchased one of the first ever made and I've owned three so far. But what is perfect to some, is not to others. Cost, size, vehicle tow capacity, storage, build quality, parent company, etc. are just a few factors. Finally, don't get caught up in Thor's 2 year, 3 year structural warranty (had a Jayco), they will not honor 65+ percent of repairs. I have had way better customer service from Forest River with dealerships echoing my statement. Take care.

Have Conner and Amelia ever said what they are blessed to do for work, that allows them to RV full time?

@@johnchomos1342 I’m curious too on how some people do it. Some rv’rs work remotely.

Sorry, but a great couples RV definitely has more than an uncomfortable 1950’s diner booth dinette for seating on a cold rainy day or night, and a bathroom with a cheap $99 plastic toilet, a $5 shower curtain, and a Dollar Store 4” fart fan😢

@Not really, I just need a comfortable sofa or theater seating for cold rainy days, and a decent bathroom with a porcelain toilet, a shower door, and a Maxxair vent fan👍

The American come Up with a new concept of living RV lifestyle can not be viable. The RV park owners can turn shipping container into an RV for rent a few hundred dollar a month even better than RV .
People just drive their car with luggage come and live for a few weeks or a few months. Why do you need to drag a massive RV like a truck with you from state to state ? to show the world you have hundred thousand dollar asset not poor and homeless? 😂

Hello there, May I share the most important news with you? God the Father sent his Holy Son Jesus (Y'shua) to earth to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. After that they put Him in a tomb for 3 days, and on the 3rd day Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people. Then Christ ascended back to heaven. We all must genuinely believe in Christ and receive Him into our life as Savior to be saved. John 1:12 says: "But any as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you put genuine faith in Christ and receive Him into your life today?
