How to install PRL Turbo inlet pipe on 1.5T 10th gen civic with W2 turbo

- Hey guys welcome back to another video! Today I installed the new PRL turbo inlet pipe on my civic sport hatchback FK7 and I LOVE it! looks amazing and sounds awesome! It was a bit tricky since I have the 27won W2 turbo but I managed to get it all worked out and installed!

Nice video man, simple and straight forward. Would've been good to watch the whole process with the camera mounted somewhere in the engine bay if no one else can be camera man.

Have you had the car dynoed since? Haven't seen any updates in that regards. Sick car bro, can't wait to big turbo my fk7.
Unfortunately no. Had transmission problems so had to get that fixed first and it was really expensive. Spent just over $2k to fix it so that's took the money I had saved for the dyno and now its holidays so spending money on gifts for the family lol. I can't catch a break. But hopefully ill get it dynoed by end of the year and if not then next month for sure.

im lookin into doing this for my 17 Si did you experience any problems with cooling after the install, also would this work with a injen CAI?
Nope no cooling problems but I do have a larger front grill that lets in more air to the engine bay and I also have a vented hood that lets the hot air out.
I have not tried to see if it works with the injen intake but PRL says it will only work with their cobra CAI.
27won has a TIP that supposedly works with all aftermarket intakes. They make pretty good parts, maybe just half a step behind PRL
Not all intakes but it does work with a few different ones. On their site they have a drop down that shows what intakes it works with.
Oye necesito tu ayuda, compre el RACE MAF intake PRL y donde maf el MAF esa parte es mas grande, pero mi tubo de TITANIO PRL lleva un Hule PRL y es mas chico donde compro esa pieza que deve ir ala medida?
Tendras que hablar con PRL y ver si ellos te pueden vender esa parte solamente. Normalmente solo viene con en inlet titanio.
Si ellos no te lo venden pues vas a tener que vender el titanio tuyo y comprar uno que es RACE para que sirva con tu nuevo RACE MAF intake.

Nice video bro, i want my prl inlet too, but i already Bought a mishimoto intake, so the question is, are compatible? I think that only one issue will be the induction hose
Idk to be honest. That would be a question for PRL or maybe someone in a Facebook group would know that has tried it already.
hey man quick question, you mentioned you have the W2 turbo upgrade, did you need to tune the car to adjust the PSI?
Hey, tune was required for the turbo. But not the inlet pipe.
If you had to pick one thing to make your car go as fast as you can possibly make it, what would that thing be? Cold air? Exhaust? Hondata/Ktune,etc?
The 1 mod that adds the most power is a ktuner/hondata.
Id say turbo but you can't add a bugger turbo without getting a tune.

How much of a performance boost did you notice with this? I’m always hearing it’s more of a noise booster than a performance booster is that true??
Its true only if you have a stock turbo. Performance boost is like 3-5 HP. If you got big turbo like 27won W1 or W2 then u can triple or quadruple those numbers.
Cant find prl turbo kits now for my 2017 coupe si. Any idea where to buy a prl turbo kit?ty
They are discontinued so cant get them new Anymore. Have to look for a used kit. I did hear tho that u can call prl and they will sell u the parts to make a kit but Idk if that's true.
Hey I'm from California if I put that on my car do I have to take off when I go smog my car or can I leave it on..I never done it before
Should be able to leave it on since this part does not require any tuning and no sensors are are attached to it.
You could say its just for looks.
How much ho does short ram intake and inlet pipe add ?

Mas gasolina entra al motor que aire porque el blow off deja el aire escapar para crear el sonido y despues puedes tener el problema de tener gasolina adentro del aceite.

It looks really nice but won’t that metal tube get hot and then suck in hot air?
It gets hot but Its made of titanium so it does not get as hot as the oem plastic one that comes on the car. So it does look and perform better then the factory one.
Its also really easy to wrap with heat resistant wraps for even better performance.
Hello not sure if you’ll get this or not, but for installing this intlet pipe will it fit on the stock turbo or do you need a bigger one? Also if I’m not mistaken this would work the a prl cobra cold air intake right!

Lol yes that is correct. They both need to be the same. Either both street or both race.

I just got my PRL TIP.. having some issues with the bottom bolts.. any tricks or advice on getting those back in? I still have the stock turbo (for now).. ac line is unbolted and still having issues.. Thanks..
Tape the edge of the bolt to the socket to hold it. I used black electrical tape. Screw it in and just pull the socket off.

Why did u go with PRL and not stay with 27won inlet?
Because I saw someone that had the 27won inlet pipe with the prl intake like the one I have and I though it looked like crap. Basically I got prl because to me it looks better then 27won lol.

Where did you put the cold air intake or no need?

Hey bro quick Question the small hoses the u struggled with
Are those from prl?

Recently bought one & is only missing one of the small hoses
All the hoses are from PRL. Only thing still OEM are the small clamps that hold the hoses in place.
If you look at the beginning of the video u will see what hoses came with the kit. Kit came with 4. 2 for the left of the pipe and 2 for the right side of the pipe

Same style but If i remember correctly the PRL ones are longer then the oem ones. OEM ones are too short and thats y prl gives u new ones.

so I’m running a mishimoto intake with a box , can I just buy a new filter or do I have to buy one of their intake because I already have the titanium turbo pipe? by prl
The titanium inlet pipe from PRL only works with the PRL intake.
Do you recommend the admission of skunk2? and the blox throttle body for honda civic 10 gen?
I have not used those so sorry I can't recommend them since i dont have any experience with them i don't know if they are good or not.
What caused the transmission failure?
Bad bearings.

Do you plan on putting a heat wrap? Ive seen some in the meets.
Im not sure yet. I definitely should for performance purposes, but it looks so good that I'd hate to cover it up lol.

will this PRL inlet pipe compatible with the mishimoto CAI?
When I bought this inlet pipe, it ONLY fit the PRL CAI. Idk about now tho, maybe they made an adapter that will make it work. You'd have to contact PRL to find out for sure.
Did you happen to get a plethora of codes thrown at you after you installed your inlet pipe?
Nope. No codes at all ever come from an inlet pipe since no sensors are connected to it.

@@MoisesEmpire Was unable to put in the bolt where that ac line is blocking even moving that ac line. Car is running fine with only 3 bolts on, but I’m not sure how to get it in. The belt didn’t block your ratchet extension?

They are necessary. Oem is believe were to short
@@MoisesEmpire I bought the inlet from someone, the only bolt missing is the long one it comes with. Do you think I can find it in Home Depot?
Yeah it's a regular bolt. Just gotta get the right size. Im sure if u call or email PRL they will tell u what size it is.

Lol yeah it takes some patients. Those bolts that attach it to the turbo are not that easy to get to.
Would it matter if I have a mishimoto cold air intake?
Check PRL website to be sure but i think this inlet pipe only works the PRL cobra intake. Idk anyone that has tried it on the mishimoto intake so im not 100% sure.

Why you didn't go with the PRL turbo?
PRL turbo is alot more expensive and I get same power from 27won W2 turbo.

I could have but I like the way the prl inlet looks better and the prl intake performs better then the 27won intake.
Im a firm believer that not 1 company makes every product perfect so I add to my car all the parts that each company makes the best in my opinion.
@@MoisesEmpire I agree with you as far as not 1 company makes the best of everything . The inlet from PRL does look better than the from 27WON, but for the intake I kind of like the design of the 27WON somewhat because of the ease of accessing the air filter better.
I think they are both just as easy. 27won u remove the 4 small screws on top of air box and prl u just remove 1 10mm bolt and 2 plastic push clips off the fender liner. Only thing that can make prl harder to get to is if the car is really low, cuz then you need to jack it up first lol.

Yeah some always spills when you move the hose. You can check the coolant level tho. Its that beige slightly see through plastic tank next to where u fill the oil on the passenger side of the car.
How much boost are you on?
Haven't tuned it for the big turbo yet but the tune I have now I think is set at 24.
What’s the numbers now?
Not sure yet. I blew my diff bearings so I haven't been able to go to the dyno.

Has the the color changed on the titanium?
Nope. Its still the same. I dont think I drive my car for a long enough distance or time for it to get hot enough to change color. My car is also pretty vented so hot air dont stay in the engine bay for to long.

Inlet pipe wont make a difference in the sound. Only the intake does that.
I barley hear the turbo
OEM turbos are small so they don't make much noise. You'll here the intake alot more then the turbo.
@@MoisesEmpire yes I figured my friend has a civic 1.5t and the turbo is not that loud. What's strange is the jetta 1.4 tsi turbo spool is loud compared to the civic. I have heard many people with the jetta 1.4 with the stock turbo and even under low acceleration the turbo is noticeable. Could it be the type of turbo vw uses cause vw turbos tend to be louder.
Its possible and also the way its tuned can affect the sound. The jetta probably spools faster.
I think the fact that the civic has a turbo inlet pipe is what makes the turbo so quiet. That plus the intake, air has to travel pretty far before it gets to the turbo.
Finally got my civic sport 1.5 t, funny enough my turbo spool is loud when the car is in park, I made a video but haven't uploaded it yet@@MoisesEmpire

The cold air intake makes plenty of noise already so no need to add an aftermarket blow off valve.

They are just for turbo sound. No other benefit comes from a blow off valve.
Some people say they are bad for the 10th gen civic but I have never seen any proof of that.
