    The issue with many of the turbo rebuilds you get from say 27won or pure turbo, they are still using the stock housings. The td025 is only able to handle a maximum of 19 psi. I’ve pushed mine to 25 psi and you can hear the compressor surge during boost. This is why many of 27wons turbos were cracking on the turbine housing. People are pushing 29 psi on a turbo designed for 19. The td03 turbo is intended to boost 29 psi without issue. I’m getting mine this week. Hit my channel in a couple weeks.

      Umar still waiting on mhi. They’ve had the turbo for a week and are supposed to get back to full race about my money. I’ve pushed forward with my claim through PayPal. They seem to thin it’s a game to try and stall people out of there money but I don’t roll with bs.

      Update, the turbo was on the car for 8 days and then blew up. I’m lucky to still have a good engine. On day 7 I went to the dealership for an oil change, the next morning the turbo failed. Mhi wants owners to run an engine oil too heavy for the engine if you’re going to run the td03 turbo. My opinion and review of the turbo. It’s a negative for me. I’ll spending my money on the W2 turbo when it comes out

    Very interesting option! I like what I am hearing. Would love to see a dyno plot. The larger turbos (Ex: 27WON, PRL) lose a lot of lowend torque vs the stock turbo. Non-Si's can do with an Si turbo upgrade (It works well). If this is a better option than an SI, whereas it loses no lowend torque and still have gains on the topend, it would be a great alternative to the 27Won.

      If you don't think you're car is experiencing the dilution problem, then mod it! But if you think it's a problem on yours, it might not be a bad idea to get it fixed. I read that Honda's fix involves flashing the car with different cold start tuning so that the engine warms up faster. Idk how much that'll change the problem but if it's available to you to fix, I'd do it before modding. Then just keep an eye on it as time goes on.

    I want someone to port w/bigger propellers a stock K20 turbo for my 16 K24 AWD CRV. The performance model is a L15b7 turbo AWD. A turbo K24 would be a better choice for a performance model CRV. And the Turbo bolts directly to the head like a new Civic Type R. The head is reversed in this model K24. So piping a turbo kit would be a piece of cake. It's already 195hp so a upgraded K20 turbo might put it at 300hp.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I understand your question, like is it easier to tune because it's only a mild upgrade, not a big upgrade? You can absolutely tune with 91 on anything. You'll just be knock limited. But it would still be fine to use this with 91. We're in Denver and we only have 91 too. Although, our 91 is probably better than yours. I know Arizona, Nevada, and Cali all have a lower grade of 91 than everywhere else I believe.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Welcome to the turbo club!
      Step one: Get a tune. This allows you to turn up the power on your car before picking up a wrench and adds HP with the literal push of a button.
      From there, every time you add a piece of hardware, just tell your tuning device it's been installed and the device will tell your car's computer that it is safe to turn up the HP. We love the Cobb Accessport for its user friendly interface, and build path, but it's not available for the 2020 1.5t yet. Hondata and K-Tuner are other good options. @darkknight097 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like one other person stated 300-320 for 93. Any higher on 93 and you risk detonation.
      Max on an E30-40 blend is 340-360.
      These numbers are just what you can run SAFELY. You could definitely push more out but you risk reliability which is already decreased at these power levels.
      Once on ethanol, the real restriction is fuel flow. The upper 300s is definitely possible, but these little 1.5s just can't flow enough fuel. That's why people will use meth and or race fuel in combination with ethanol to get that high

    • @sugar_milk7522
      @sugar_milk7522 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Imo, the 27won turbo. It’s the cheapest, easiest to install, it already has a basemap in place, can be used with a stock clutch without issues and it’s good for up to 400 +/- horsepower. For what it’s worth, I’m fbo, 27won turbo running on 93 basemap (for now) and I had more clutch slippage on the TSP stage 1 map with the stock turbo. I also floor it multiple times a day... if you’re crazy enough to build the motor and push for big power, I’d say you’re probably best off with the PRL kit.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There really isn't a "best" turbo for the car. Think of it as the best turbo for you and what you want to do with the car. The only time I'd tell you a turbo isn't good is if it's some inexpensive, cheaply made, low quality turbo. But this turbo along with the PRL kit are very high quality and worth the extra money. Your goals really make your turbo choice for you.

      Yes you can add it ! No you don’t need a tune. In fact you can’t really tune for a bov.
      Just know putting a bov in your car will cause it to run rich, not rich all the time. Just. For that one second during shifts. Is it going ruin your car no, is it the most healthy thing no. But no mods are really healthy. If you want healthy and reliable stay stock. But in the end man do what makes you happy just no the risk !

    Is this turbo actually larger than the factory Si/CRV turbo as they are slightly larger than the non si 10th gen civics came with.

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, this is not a factory option turbo, it's slightly bigger again than the Si turbo and it's just a better constructed turbo too. It's not a massive upgrade in terms of power, but it's factory fit and quality so it's a great choice if you want a nice bump in power without going crazy.

      Edge Autosport oh that’s awesome! I am personally going for an OEM+ type build with my Si and have been considering the 27won drop in turbo. Do you have an opinion on which of these turbo upgrades might be the better option in terms of longevity and build quality?

      If you have the 1.5t thats a 10th gen it should work its the same motor

      No. The accord has a 2 port internal exhaust manifold that flows to a 2 port turbo which what looks to be or possibly a twin scroll design, I’m not sure

      This turbo does not come on a factory Honda. The CRV and Si share the same turbo so that's technically an upgrade to a Civic 1.5T non-Si. But this is an upgrade again. It's not a Honda OEM part.

      Hondata has just released an off-the-shelf map for this turbo. Although I'm sure it'll work fine, there are still reasons to custom tune your own car.

      @@EdgeAutosport i do have a question: did you also changed the oil viscosity in the engine for it? Some vendors advertise it with 10w40! which is out of Honda specs for the engine. www.full-race.com/store/honda-acura/10th-gen-civic-type-r-fk8/10th-gen-honda-civic-si-bolt-on-turbo-upgrade/
