    I had an fa5 like 3 years ago and man, that’s a car I really shouldn’t have gotten rid of. K20z3, lsd, four doors and a killer interior. Fa5 is unmatched for the money imo.

    That k20 is absolutely bullet proof. I'm glad you guys went with a super charger instead of a turbo. You'll lose a little on the top, but what you gain on the bottom is totally worth it. Plus, they sound so good on a k series.

    • @jalisurr
      @jalisurr ปีที่แล้ว +11

      It’s a centrifugal charger, so I would expect it’ll actually be down a fair bit on midrange torque compared to a turbo or traditional supercharger. Should be a screaming top end though

    • @lcq4blackstar
      @lcq4blackstar ปีที่แล้ว +7

      LoL it's a Rotrex 😅 it makes linear boost and yes it IS perfect and perfectly suited to NA Honda engines characteristics.

    • @Itspossiblekj
      @Itspossiblekj ปีที่แล้ว

      centrifugal sc won’t make the tq or top end of a modern turbocharger on this same engine.

    For drivers having SIs at/after 09, about the FD2 gauge stuff, I have a tiny suggestion since i had installed it for my customers before, If u don't wanna an downgrade abs pump from 08 si, here are two solutions for u.
    First solution is to get a kill switch for the fuse from the engine hood(not the one under the steering wheel cuz its associated with power steering which means it will also turn off the power steering system) . This is a super easy solution which most of my customer pick this one BUT the fuse under the hood will also turn of the ABS system(cuz its a bi-fuse). Some of my customers wanna abs turned off on track but obviously most of my customer wanna keep it on, so here is another solution:
    The second solution is the combination of FD2 upper gauge cluster and SI lower gauge cluster. FIRST IT DID WORKS 100% FOR SURE. One of my customer pointed out this solution for us BUT u need a sort of rewireing stuff. The FD2 and FA5 has different wireing. BUT since u have si lower gauge cluster, U LOSE THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE. What the customer did was to got an extra aftermarket gauge (like coolant&oil temperature combined gauge).
    This way u keep the type R VTEC engage indicator and also keep the VSA OFF button works.
    Guess what, BOOM, now u have FD2 clusters(or no 's' LOL) together with VSA function.
    Also don't forget to replace the gauge face on the si one to FD2 one.
    Oh BTW if ur having a coupe SI even it's a 08 version u still need to change two pins for both plugs to make the upper gauge work(it's something about the difference between coupe and sedan).
    I hope those who's planning to get fd2 cluster could read my comment by any chance and I hope it helps.🎉

    It's hard not to be jealous of this build. You guys have done more to your 8th in a month(ish) than I've been able to do in my 14 years of ownership 🙃 Great work though fellas. And Dave, you better beat that BMW!!!

  • @kc550
    @kc550 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I love the way it turned out, I just really do not like seeing a stretched tire on a wheel. I know Dave said it was for aesthetics, but you're adding an unnecessarily heavy/wide wheel for the sake of a flush look. Personally, I think when tires are the same width or slightly wider than the wheel, is a much tougher look while also being functional. Nonetheless, hats off as usual to you guys - quality build!

    • @najuad
      @najuad ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like it should be delivering tacos with those wheels on

    • @kc550
      @kc550 ปีที่แล้ว

      @najuad haha yeah not ideal. The OEM ones looked much better, though that offset was ridiculous... as if they had 30+mm spacers up front and that wheel was still so tucked in. Sucks, because those wheels looked right at home.

    • @ftovr2957
      @ftovr2957 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it needs maybe 10mm more tyre, or half an inch less wheel in the back. Interestingly, Tire Rack has been doing a few tests on the affect of how the same size tyre behaves on different wheel widths. Has been a known thing among Autocross guys for years, but a modest amount of stretch is generally better for subjective feel, and can also be as fast or faster than more tyre on less width. Worth checking out!

    • @kc550
      @kc550 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ftovr2957 yeah it's a similar principle to utilizing negative camber for cornering, but your contact patch is pretty important as well.

    i highly recommend moving the hood prop or removing it or it may fall out of its clip onto the battery terminals, happened to mine caused a fire but i caught it quickly but couldve been bad, melted my battery and end of hood prop, basically became a welding arc, also why not use hood risers? spacers basically for where the hood is bolted
