It made me big sad when they mentioned the SC on the old FRS. By far the best series you guys have done to date. Came for the FRS, stayed for the hopes of a GR86 lol
I know people love intake noise but I think it can be overpowering on K series. The supercharger definitely mutes the intake noise and that exhaust sounds really really good. Honestly one of the best sounding K series Honda's I've ever heard.
What started off as a dog, has been transformed into something so much better... I can't even find the words to describe what you have created, it's just excellent! Well done guys for the work you put into it and the choices you made.
As an FA5 owner I'm very jealous of this build. Even without the Type R cosmetics it would be well out of my price range, but it is cool to see it being done.
This Civic looks fire! I never much cared for the looks of this gen Civic, even in the coupe, but man, this has nailed it - and a powerful, streetable drivetrain and suspension to boot. Well done guys.
Just did my front bearings and rear bushings on the em2. Refreshed the brakes while I was it. Much cheaper if you take the parts off and reinstall yourselves. I had a shop press the bearings and bushings. Saved a grand. A new car is over 30k. I could spend 5k more and make a sweet ride. All in for 10k. Just waiting for EVs to hit better prices in 2025. No more belts and hoses and spark plugs and filters and oil. I’ve had my fill of fixen.
I own a JDM fd2 with a Jackson racing supercharger. It's running just over 330 bhp, totally set up for track. I run several parts you've fitted like the exedy clutch. I think I've gone too track focused to be honest, it's a lot of fun on track but very rough on the road. It's been fun watching your videos on this build, makes me think about what a k24 bottom end would do for my set up. I definitely need to look into a 3 inch system too but I want to go titanium. I'd put my money on the civic, M3 is a quick car on track but I've had fun against them on track days here in the UK.
@@DahakaCL wow I knew sparks could happen in a situation where the pad is low didn't know normally functioning brakes do that. Learned something today.... I have some drilled and slotted discs with ebc yellows on my 2000 JDM integra sedan I've never even gotten them to fade based on my usage
Great build and inspiration. My wife likes it too, but she is sticking with the Type R wing in white on her Civic... she has to make everything match = form over function. Still, gotta love a woman that encourages a guy to mod her ride.
You guys really did a number on that car. It is so proper and I am so jealous! I hope this Honda takes it just for the fact that you put so much work into it! Built over bought all day
Tanabe (now known as Revel) used to make the best sounding exhausts for K and D series with the Concept G and Medallion series back in the day. I wish more people knew about them so they could fire up the inventory again.
It's crazy how easy it is to make these cars look good. The 8th gen platform never disappoints. On my 3rd 8th gen already. Golden era civic. Much love from Ontario
This is just an amazing car. I’m so happy for you guys to have this car. I had a 8th gen civic si with a supercharger for a little bit and it changed the car. It gave so much more torque down low.
This civic looks amazing. Love this content! I love seeing well modified and purpose driven builds. Happy that the spirit of Modified mag has moved to video format
I was becoming a teenager during the tuner revolution and this was my dream type of build. I got tuner and Honda power mags etc... I'm not giving up on a tuner for me one day.
Old Skool dude here! I've been transformed by the Lord but still need my somewhat daily fix of Honda Civics putting down the power every now and again!
The reason the boost was low is because you were feeding boost into the 2.4L VS a 2.0L. More displacement with a fixed speed supercharger will decrease boost levels. Love the content! Car turned out great.
Idle vibrations are most likely resonance. When I my Z3 had the stock oil pump it would idle smoothest at 950 rpm; at the usual 850 it would vibrate more. After switching to the RRC oil pump, it was vibrating quite a bit at 950. I lowered the idle to 850RPM and it’s so much smoother.
Those are some beautiful dyno charts - especially how you can see clearly the relationship between rpm's, pulley size and power figures. Anyone else prefer superchargers to turbos? I just love how the torque and power curve is basically the same as NA
Yeah, I don't like turbos, especially the modern ones that just simulate a larger NA engine. If it has to be turbo, I prefer the old-school ones with lots of lag followed by a dramatic surge of boost as at least they were exciting!
I hope you guys take these cars to the track more than one time. Its fun watching the builds but we want to see a build progress and get better not just sold off
been watching for years and sometimes i’ll be at work and see episodes of whatever cable tv there is, you guys are so much better than them. keep it up.
I know we all love the Flexus, but, come on, I hope this one is a keeper. Four doors, good road manners, LHD, and peak modern Honda cool points. I hope this one sticks around for a while!
I "lived" the GTA between 2011-2016 while posted in Borden, nice roads South of Hwy 89 are indeed very rare... it's so much nicer up here around Ottawa.
Oh i just love this build, amazing job u guys😍 dont get me wrong but please install an oem type r wing. That thing is bit too much a boy racer haha… & on the interior some red seat belts would be a nice addition🙌
Hmm, I’d think the larger pulley is for the increased dampening needed on the longer stroke. If supercharger speed needs adjustment why not change supercharger pulley? Awesome series btw!
I loved my 8th gen and would love to get another just not as a daily anymore. The whole reason I got rid of it was the NVH after bolt ons and suspension was too much to daily.
Had an 07 si w/ a kraftwerks kit…hated that thing so much. Great power (relatively); tuned by Matt Shue in Richmond, but wow was it a bitch with that pulley. Not to mention the tensioner bolt and super tight fitment overall. Edit: the belt was shredding due to contact with the hood support rod…sadly
So perfect, i was undergoing the same build couple years ago but give up, got all the ingredients, but found out the same problem about the k24 is higher with the hood issue you guys have. The kit really design for k20 and ppl saying that it make more power with k20 due to the better internal and cams. Really wanna build one again after seeing your video. Good luck. Would love to know if you guys wanna sell it after😅
You guys deserve so much more views!!! Such a slept on channel 😢
This is the mantra of the channel.
They have more than a half 1 million followers I think they’re doing fine
@@Toyota4Life followers is one thing, completely different from the views they're getting on their videos.
man what a transformation. that cars actually so clean now 🥶
Absolutely. A really beautiful build. Love it.
The factory blower speed on the Rotrex is extremely conservative. Trust that you can spin that motor up to 8200 with no issues
Appreciate the longer street driving section after the dyno 🤙
driving clips and in-depth review of how the car feels on the road is really nice!
It made me big sad when they mentioned the SC on the old FRS. By far the best series you guys have done to date. Came for the FRS, stayed for the hopes of a GR86 lol
cutting the cage out the frs was my first speed academy video!
@@blu73 The Ontario 1500 was outrageously entertaining
The way the supercharger just peaks out a bit but is still flush with the hood line is so freaking sick! What a gem you guys have built!
I'm not a Honda guy, but in my opinion this is the best looking/performing car since the Flexus. Top marks! 👏
"It really is a dream Honda build for so money of us" - DP with the Freudian slip there at the end, lol.
13:41 did you guys see the sparks shooting out of the left front wheel?
Just came to comment on this!
That's pretty normal for aggressive pads. If you watch some autocross videos from this angle you can see a lot of it.
@@WTFNoNamesLeft2 Ah. I was not fully aware. I kinda thought it was the pads, but I didn't think it was considered normal. Thanks for the feedback!

We love this build! Amazing how a few mods can utterly transform these cars.

looking good and it sure made enough power
Satisfying finish to this build. Very nice, great power, WELL DONE!
My eyes may be deceiving me but I think I seen sparks during the driving scene
I just wonder if it would drive better with the extra RPM, but slightly less horsepower.

Gotta admit, these civics never caught my eye before, but this one looks good! I think the exterior choices are perfect. Love the front end 🙌

20k USD is prob too light huh?
really good channel that shows real world stuff and busts myths in the tuner community with know how and pioneering some things.

Great build guys as always. I used to own an Fd2 type r. Great cars. Please 🙏🏽 put the factory Fd2 boot spoiler on it.
This is my favourite build that you’ve done
The end result looks clean and awesome. I’m not typically a fan of white paint but dang that looks sweet!
How could you not be? Such a clean look!
Love how the car turned out. FD2 is such a clean car. I miss my 2009 Si. I often regret selling it 😢
13:45 The sparks coming off the brakes. 😄
Well done you guys! That thing is sick ❤
Love the custom plate holder out the back. Just swinging away.
What a absolute Jem it has became! Great job as always guys. Can't wait to see the battle!
This thing is beautiful! Such an amazing result!
300+ horsepower I think is a Lotta horsepower in that little car and it’s probably a lot of fun big ups
Makes me want to throw a supercharger on my fa5 , taking it to the dyno Tuesday hopefully I’ll make 265 with my k24 setup it’s on my channel as well
Not a big honda fan but man that transformation! Car looks good! Nice tasteful mods all around! keep up the good work
This Civic looks pretty daggone slick guys! Not too wild, but just enough edge and exposure to look like it means some business.
Awesome build man, can’t wait to build my 8th gen coupe 🔥 love the Honda content
If there was ever a FF car I wanted to keep for life... THIS would be the car. Absolute perfection. GGs PT, this car wins no matter what.
Love this build and can't wait for the battle. Thx guys
Love the civic. The car looks amazing, and those wheels are just right. Great choice!
Awesome build these superchargers are a beast with the combo you guys have done
Imo the civic look kinda weird with the black gt-wing. Maybe paint or wrap the side flap to body colour would make it look better.
Hmm, I’d think the larger pulley is for the increased dampening needed on the longer stroke. If supercharger speed needs adjustment why not change supercharger pulley?

Love this build, I'd drive that daily sans the wing. How about those brake sparks at 13:42!
Yea, but why though?? 🧐
Pad rotor combo?
Pretty awesome! Look into s1 built awd system and awd it!!!
God that build is EXACTLY what I would do to mine, performance wise. Probably keep the k20 for higher revs unless it blows
In my teens, you wouldn't catch me watching honda civic videos or even paying attention to them at all......NOW, in my mid-30's, I want a civic lol
those sparking brakes pads at 13:42 😍 mmmm track pads
