    A quick dilution chart:
    32oz @ 10:1 = 2.9oz of solution / 29.1oz of water
    128oz @ 10:1 = 11.6oz of solution / 116.4oz of water
    32oz @ 4:1 = 6.4oz of solution / 25.6oz of water
    128oz @ 4:1 = 25.6oz of solution / 102.4oz of water
    32oz @ 1:1 = 12oz of solution / 16oz of water
    128oz @ 1:1 = 64oz of solution / 64oz of water

      Hi Oscar regarding the McGuire all purpose cleaner, I have the same McGuire brand 10:1 diluted bottle with the markings on the side. Do i fill the remainder of the bottle to the very top with the all purpose cleaner after I filling the bottle up to the 10:1 marked line with water? Or does the math need to be applied manually to where you add a small amount that does not reach the top. I did not see any markings on the bottle to let me know where to stop adding the concentrate. I did not want to over do it.

    A fast way to dilute without using a chart add the dilution ratio you want and divide it by oz of the bottle you have. For example if you want to dilute 8:1 in a 32 oz bottle. 8+1=9. Then divide 32/9 is 3.5oz of chemical 28.5 of water. After I found this out it saved me a lot of time compared to using the calculator

  • @JonathanIsrael708
    @JonathanIsrael708 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I know we have calculators for everything today, but I don't think you explained the actual math, even though it should make sense if someone is following along.
    You're dividing the bottle into how many total parts you need. So if your making a 4:1 [4 parts water to 1 part cleaner is 5 parts total] ratio for a 16oz bottle, 16oz/(4+1)=3.2 . You will pour (1) 3.2oz of cleaner into your bottle and (4) 3.2oz of water.

    • @obliviondio
      @obliviondio 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ratio 2:1 is the only exception to this rule. A 2:1 only has 2 equal parts present but with your calculation it would turn into 3 parts divided by the medium used which would be inaccurate.
      Therefore it can only be looked at as total medium used divided in half gets you the proper amount for both water and chemical.

    • @JonathanIsrael708
      @JonathanIsrael708 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@obliviondio huh? 2:1 ratio for an 8oz mixture would be 2.6oz cleaner and 5.4oz water. That's still three parts.. 2.6+(2.6*2)

    I hardly mess with the bottle lines. 10-1 for 32 onz, 10+1=11. 32/11=2.9. 32-2.9=29.1 oz of water and your 2.9 of product. To make it more accurate I try to work with better numbers. 33 onz of solution is 3 onz and 30 onz of water for 10-1. For 4-1 dilution I make 30onz, 4-1=5. 30/5=6 . 30 minus 6=24oz of water and 6 of product. 2-1=3 for 30onz of diluted final product , 30/3= 10oz of product 30-10=20 oz of water. With this math you can add product before you fully ran out. Say 20 oz diluted if you have like 10onz left or less in your bottle and you need 4-1 dilution. 20/5=4. 20-4=16 that's 16 water 4 product. Boom. Whatever round number works you never need to be committed to a full bottle of product 😎 just add 1 to the part ratio, divide the full amount you want, subtract the ratio number from the full amount, the big amount is water the less is product, Boom.
