You’re going to be the new Auto Detailing Guru. Man, this is the kind of video that the average Joe Shmoe needs. I-as I’m sure many others-have found themselves in that Walmart aisle overthinking and wasting precious time trying to buy the basics. This stuff ain’t cheap, and buyer’s regret is real. I saved all your recommended products and will be going back!
I have a lot of respect for this young man having a successful business that he started when he was 18 years old and he makes six figures at just 21! We need a lot more young folks as energetic and spirited as this young man. I wish him huge successes and great things in the future.
Josh, you're a great source of info and motivational speaker. I have followed you for a few years and have my equipment and products based on your excellent objective reviews. I'm a DIY auto detail enthusiast in order to keep our cars looking their best. I'm a few years away from retirement and looking at a mobile auto detail business to keep busy. Thanks again for being thorough and objective and such a great source of info and motivation. Good luck on new location and will be looking forward to attending classes as you develop them.
For my wheels, I use the Meguiars hot rims wheel cleaner, which has been my favorite for many many years. For the tire shine, I use Meguiars hot shine tire coating. Love the wet look it gives. For my interior cleaner, I use my chemical guys non scented total interior cleaner/protectant. I personally like it because it's non scented.
Highly impressed with your channel. Your knowledge is outstanding, and the style of your videos and the delivery is excellent. Respect from the UK. Errol.
I think this is one of the better information videos that anyone has made recently. Great information good presentation, keep up the good work. Stay humble.
As a soon-to-be ex-Detail Garage owner, you were spot on for why it’s locked up. 😂 Shits trash. 4 years ago I would’ve recommended it to anyone, hence why I owned the store. Since they sold out to an equity firm in 2021, everything is different.
Great video. I’m a mechanic but love detailing my own cars. I hate Walmart stopped selling all the Jay Lenos products and replaced them with Adam’s. I had great luck with the Jay Lenos Garage stuff. Personally I like the Turtle Wax wheel cleaner the best and their wash as well but good wash soap isn’t hard to find. But I grab Sprayway glass cleaner over anything else but that’s just my opinion.
I stay stocked with Stoner's Glass Cleaner, its one of the best out there and been using them for over 20yrs. Diablo is weak, i use it to wash my rags with 😅😅😅😅😅 but that VRP will get you right as it has mutliple uses.
For drying, what I usually do is I have a leaf blower, I blow off all the excess water and come back with a microfiber drying towel to get what's left.
Best tire shine in my opinion is cover-all you can get it over at autozone has an amazing shine that actually lasts, even after some rain. And it doesn't sling on the body as much
What do you use to remove water spots? Do you ever use any kind of compound, wax or polish? I understand that you mention the spray on detailers, do you use any rub on applied wax, polish, coumpound, clay bars? Great video thank you for the advice.
You have a lot of "no-go" items but you don't say why they are not recommended. I think we need to know why you don't like products like Chemical Guys Diablo. What does it do or not do that you don't like? I use the Absorber drier after using a leaf blower to dry my car. What do you think is wrong with The Absorber?
Haven't watched yet, but when I was younger, we used bleche wite on tires, and the dirt just ran off of it....We used armoral on all the plastic....Now i would say, bleche wite for tires, Tire shine for protectant. The spray called "tire shine". Awesome for cleaning surfaces and removing scuffs, armoral for protectant n shine. maybe a spray bottle of alcohol for windows. I don't understand why people buy expensive products. We use to make cars look fresh when we were young. Now I'll go watch the video n see your pick.
Just finished watching your video and the recommendations are good. But I do agree with you on Armor All. All their products are garbage. I use to use them but didn't know any better and saw how the results weren't as great as McGuire's or Chemical Guys. Thank you for the information.
That’s what’s up James. 👊🏾Appreciate this Walmart shopping list that you recommended. Just getting started myself. And like you said we got to start somewhere. I Discovered you throw Hunter’s Detailing video when he came into the shop. I love how you brake things down. Keep up the awesome work. And my god continue to bless you and yours 🤙🏾👊🏾👍🏾 🙏🏾
I honestly can’t complain with the meguires ceramic sprays……. (Blue and green bottles by his shoulder at 4:32) use the blue bottle as your initial wax coating and touch up with the green bottle ceramic detailer. Both have fantastic results if you spray on a clean wet car and power wash from the bottom up then top down to rinse.
Lmao placed my comment before you said the same thing…….. one thing I would add, in my experience I get the best results if you let the blue bottle cure for 3 hours or so before stacking the ceramic detailer. Love from Canada 🇨🇦
Meguiars hyper dressing is great for interior dressing and wheels. The chemical guys had water spot remover works pretty good. Supremes dark fury is great for bug and tar remover and wheel cleaner.
Thanks for the tips….just bought a new 2024 Lexus and I need to know what to use to keep my car new. I know there are pros and cons at the car wash, I want my car safe as possible. This video, I thank you.
I can’t believe you forgot about SuperClean! It’s the handy way! I use it fully concentrated by spraying it all over the car and letting it bake in the sun for ultimate shine 👍🏾
Purple Power Concentrate will strip everything, so no need for a bug cleaner and brake buster. I use the Chemical Guy's citrus gloss and shine, then Meguiar's Hybrid ceramic wax. It seems to be a kitchen sink method, but it works. The only downside for me is i did all this with hard water. So, a hard water removal is needed for me.
McGuires wax quick spray is amazing .. purple power for the win also the mcguires wheel cleaner works great for decently abused wheels … Wally world is the the shiet 1 stop shop for me 🤣🤣
Great advice an information. Will you be doing any other videos on business like your advice on mobile detailers doing business with other type of business like small car shops , other small company that have company van. Stuff like that ?? Or have you came across or have done cars for other small businesses?? Thanks bro.
I only had a $75 dollar budget for detailing and, I am sorry but I had to use Armorall. As I make more money, I will use something like Chemical guys, Adams polishes, suds labs and Meguiars.
The wheel cleaner I agree with, suds lab does make some quality products. I really like their ceramic spray sealant. The maguires spray on rinse off stuff, ill pass on that, used it and left my truck streaky. The turtle wax bug and tar remover, ill pass on that too. The maguires is far better imo,I used the turtle wax last week ,left it sit for about 5 minutes and still smeared all over the hood. Don't sleep on the turtle wax minute wax streak free mist bottle, wet or dry you may be surprised in the gloss and slickness.

Only problem with ceramic products is that once you wipe them off with your drying towel~your towel will never be the same again. The ceramic chemicals want to bond to the fibers of towel just as much as the surface of the car. Then you end up with what I call a SMEARY TOWEL : )

Chemical guys tire kicker is a lot better than vrp you can dilute it for the fender wells and engine bays, great for trim and tires
Tire Kicker is junk. Try Jay Leno's tire goo. Otherwise, send away for Zaino Z-16 .
Gotta try anything from XPEL & GYEON products!
VRP is the truth. Tires wont have that “wet” look but more of a gloss factor plus it has UV protection which a lot of dressings dont.
