I UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING!!! TAKE THAT MATH CLASS!!!. that being said. I have a few questions 1. Why do you dilute the product? Isnt it better to just use it without dilution? I mean, isnt it supposed to be better that way? 2. When do I need to dilute the product? 3. Which products should I dilute? 4. how much ratio would be good or is 10 to 1 always the best?
Hi, those are all good questions. Many of our products come concentrated in order to give you ultimate control over the product and offer you the best value. "Better" is all relative to the situation: sure, a stronger dilution would be better for a tougher job, but for a light cleaning, a less strong dilution would be more effective. You should dilute whichever products say to do so on the label. The specific dilution ratio will change depending on the product, which you can find on the product itself or on the product's web page on our website. Thanks for watching and make sure to check back tomorrow for a new video upload!
Up until 3 weeks ago I only used Meguires, but I thought I’d give chemical guys a go. Let me tell you right now, between their products a tutorial videos. I won’t be using anything else other than chemical guys. Because there’s not a lot of valeting shops near me Where I live in Essex(U.K) I use a company called Original Gloss. Fully stocked and quick delivery. I’ve learned a lot through this channel and hope to be starting a mobile valeting biz soon.
Hey your youtube about dilution is excellant. I am lucky I found it. Maybe you can help me. I am using Kleenrite soap injectors which combine soap product with water. The soap I am using has a label on it that says " pre-diluted 50/50.Draw mixture from bucket & further dilution will be done by the unit injector" So my question is when I use other products with lets say 32: 1 should I just make that products dilution and let the unit draw it at that strenght or cut it more? I have no control over the injectors. I hope you can help.
Greetings inquisitive viewer, you would need to use either distilled water, de-ionized water, or filtered water because you'll get water spots if you don't. Water spots are most frequently created when hard water is left on a surface - paint or glass - to dry (technically, evaporate). In a best case scenario, the minerals and dirt in the water are simply left on the surface after the water has evaporated off. Getting water spots is problematic since it's tough to remove them, and they get etched into the paint which could cause cratering. If left unchecked, water spots could embed themselves in the paint necessitating the need for polishing.
Some of you liquids like bug and tar suggest a 6:1 ratio, and others suggest a 10:1 ratio. the bottle should have those on thier since they are on your product bottles?
Hi, we recommend using RO (reverse osmosis), DI (di-ionized), or any clean, filtered water with EcoSmart. Thanks for watching and make sure to check back later today for a new video upload!
You're welcome Justin, we try to be as thorough as possible. Dilution ratios is a topic that many people get easily confused by, that's why Chemical Guys assembled this nifty dilution chart to help you get the proper mixture of deionized water and cleaning product. Hey Chemical guys, i just recently went into personal detailing, would you say that 90ml of ph neutral shampoo diluted to 1liter of water for snow foam is acceptable ratio?
Hey JC! Make dilutions quick and easy with a Secondary Container. www.chemicalguys.com/secondary-container-dilution-bottle/1-pack-bottles.html?gtmListValue=Internal%20Search
What about if the product says to dilute 1:500 or 1:800 what does that mean? Every 1oz water you put 500oz of product? I’m so confused by this dilution ratio plz help. (Side note working with a 32oz bottle)
Hello, here at Chemical Guys, we produce detailing chemicals, tools, and equipment to care for your car and get it looking its best. We are glad to answer all of your detailing questions regarding our products, however, for inquiries relating to products that are not ours, please contact the manufacturer of the good. Thanks for stopping by and good luck!
Is it okay to use water from my hose to dilute the products I am using or do I have use specifically filtered water such as chemical guys water. Please help me Greg.
For best results, we recommend using de-ionized, filtered, or distilled water. The lower the mineral content (i.e. calcium and other alkalines) the better.
Im still not sure which products should be diluted or not. Do the Silk Shine or All Clean? I kust purchased them and they came with a sprayer...are these already diluted?
Hey James! You should dilute cleaners and degreasers, like Nonsense, Orange Degreaser, and every car soap. Dressings and quick detail sprays are ready to use!
Link to chart in description is dead. Error I think the new site is the reason. During the migration to the new site it was either missed or moved to a different location. Tried to search the new site too. Nothing
Hi! We will be implementing something similar soon on our new website. If you have any questions about specific products please ask us here and we will answer them for you. Happy detailing!
That’s all great but how the hell do I get the sprayer top off the god dam bottle so I can dilute it? Looks like a disposable spray pac that the top doesn’t come off.
Hey there, you use a set of Channel Lock Pliers to remove the top so you can pour the chemical into a secondary dilution bottle. The reason why the bottle is locked like that is so that the bottle doesn't leak during transportation.
All Clean is an all purpose cleaner, I would recommend using that for cleaning tires, engine bays, undercarriages, and wheel wells. As far as painted surfaces go, it's definitely recommended to dilute. Diablo Wheel Gel should be the perfect choice to clean wheels, it's pH-balanced to clean virtually any type of wheel. When dealing with any type of surface that's sensitive or delicate, it's best to dilute up to 20:1.
Hi Jesus check the link down below. Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family! www.chemicalguys.com/How_To_Dilute_Car_Wash_Chemicals_s/373.htm
I was so happy when their products started becoming available here on Amazon, even Prime shipping (like Same-Day if i wanted it badly) as they stock them in the Amazon warehouses. But I've seen some products become out of stock, or some stuff not even available, so it's not like they are keeping us Canadians fully stocked of their products.
Hi Reggie, here's a link to our dilution chart from our website. www.chemicalguys.com/v/vspfiles/assets/images/ChemicalGuys_HowToDiluteCarWashChemicals_Web.jpg
You guys have a bad habit that when you guys put a description to click on a state in India website sorry try again or it's you can there's no description of what you just said click on it for the ratio chart that you're talking about a it says it doesn't give us nothing
Litre's, metric, its all irrelevant. Regardless of the system you're using, 100:1 is 100:1. 100 parts water to 1 part solution in litres is still 100 parts water to 1 part solution in US. The ratio is the same...x part water to x part solution.
Funny how I just called u guys about this exact topic about a week ago and now there's a video to help others out! Good work
You planted the seed.

Or you can add the chart to the back of the product that need dilution
Or maybe just click the link in the description and print it out. Jeeeezzzz
Lol I already printed it im just giving them some ideas for the people that don't follow them on TH-cam
I totally understand. You could print it on the label that's on the bottle though.

This is a CLASSIC vid that stands the test of time!
😃😃
Thanks for breaking this down. Suggestion, you guys should put measurement lines on the sides of the bottles for easy reference on how much you pour.
Great suggestion!!
Thank you chemical guys for your efforts on making this chart.I finally understand what does the dilution ratio mean
WOW!!! Thanks, guys! You really did the Masses a SOLID!

another great educational video for the ladies and gents at CG, thanks for all that you show us, greatly appreciated.
Thanks Chemical Guys. I've had 4 different people try to explain this and nobody made sense till I saw this video.

Thanks this is simple and great now I can make bleach solution 10:1 ratio hospital grade😉 ready to Sanitizer 🤗😘
Would have been pretty cool to have metric system measurements as well.
I felt like a dumbass for not knowing how to dilute thanks for making a video
Thanks for watching!
Thank you guys👍👍👍
So mixing a dilution for a certain stain or dirty surface is basically a trial and error to see what dilution works best for that particular job?
Thank you. Super simple to understand. Haven’t done tons of math in 30+ years lol
😃 Glad you enjoyed the video!
Thanks for also having this video. Now i can dilute properly when i'm using stuff like VRP. :P
Thanks for watching and thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family!
Could you guys do a video on the best pressure washers out on the market or the pressure washers you use at chemical guys.
Thanks for the chart. I'm new to diluting and this is super easy
What is the capacity of the cap of your 16oz bottles?
Nicely done Greg.
Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you
You are so welcome!
Do you have one for brandX??
Can you dilute innerclean? Gallon size doesn't say so but was wondering if it would work also? Sprayable leather also please..
Do you have a conversion chart in metric? If not please would you be kind enough to make one for your European fans?
Many thanks
Paul
Great CG guys! Thanks a lot!
The lower the ratio is the stronger it is ?
What if you do it correctly but it starts messing up the interior ?
How about
1:20 dalution shampoo in to ML ?
Great video good information thanks for sharing this 👍. I do floor care strip and waxing ect
Thanks so much for watching!!
How do you know which ratio to use? Does it say on the bottle?

GREAT STUFF
Are Hybrid V07 + Silk Shine Dressing Ready to use, or can they be diluted?
Ready to use. This information is located on the bottle and website pages.
So..... if something is 16:1 does that mean I take the volume of the spray bottle, divide it by 16 and that gives the 1 amount to put in?
troykm No, you take the volume of the bottle and divide it by 17, remember he first said add the ratio so if its 16:1 you add 16+1
It's (1/17) * total ounce of the bottle. That's how much you add of the concentrate. Then fill the rest up with water.
How do I know if my products are full strength or pre diluted??
Hey!
It will say on the bottle what the proper dilution ratio is, follow that.
do u need to dilute ths with distilled water or does normal water work too?

Absolutely, that dilution should achieve great foaming action.
Also when mixing its water to chemical not chemical to water.

You explained this so complicated, you should do 1 oz 3 oz water or ratio 1 bottle 3 bottles water its that easy homeboy
cool story homeboy have fun oxidizing your concentrate over time
Yeah have fun trying to dilute something 128:1 into an odd sized container some time.

omg... why the hell are you making it so complicated? 3:1 means 1 part chemical and 3 parts water, it can be 5oz chemical and 15oz water :/
Some people think the 3 would be the total parts and one of those parts is concentrate. Years ago I thought this
