For question 3, I was able to solve the percentage mentally by taking 50% of 400 = 200 and then taking 5% of 400 = 20; Adding the two answers together mentally gives you a sum of 220. After that, simply take 220 and subtract it from 400, resulting in 180.
When taking timed tests like this, try to find the most simplest ways to solve the problems because time is of the essence-- especially for tests where calculators are not allowed!
I think this is simpler.
100% - 55% = 45%
45% of 400 = 180
If u have a calculator, just do 400 x 0.45 right, much easier
A better solution would be :
Take 50 % of 400 = 200
Divide that by 10 to get 5% = 20
Required 100% - 55% = 45%, so 50% - 5% = 200 - 20 = 180
So, answer = 180 tickets

it says between 50 and 80 which means 50 and 80 are excluded ......the focus should be on the numbers in between 50 and 80

Hey Richard I have a video contest coming up for a full ride scholarship in Pilot school in which I have to state why I would love to become a pilot. How did you find the answer for number 12
Question about Q7 where you say you count the 55 as two, as i belive. But in another vid you made ''7 Numerical Reasoning Test Tips, Tricks & Questions!'' you have the same question about how many 4's from 1-100 and several people you comment that they corrently answered C that was 19. but with the extra 44 there is 20 4's from 1-100.

Question 1 Richard McMun i got it correct. the answer is 19 1s is the one that come across 1 and 100.
You explanation for Q3 is long and confusing;
If we multiply 4x45% the answer will 1.8 not 180 (as 45% is basically 45/100 = .45)
Why don’t you simply multiply 400x45% = 180

Q7 is actually 12 not 13. The '5' at 50 should be counted
The question said "between" which is why "50" is not counted unless it states "from".

Numerical reasoning isn’t hard at all compared to Verbal reasoning. Maths comes natural to me.
It's hard when u have to solve a 3 to 5 minute question in 30s. It's a race against time. Even if you're good math this requires a different type of preparation.
Question 2 is D. Did that in my head and surprised myself so much for getting the right answer with mental math haha

Pedantically, Answer 8 is NOT 21. The questions asks for digit 1's BETWEEN 1 and 100, not including 1 & 100. So Range should not include 1 or 100.

For question 7 it said between 50 and 80 (51-79) but you counted 50 as well. so the answer should be 12 instead of 13.

Q3 : why 180 the answer divide 400/100 is 4 and the second is 4 x 55 = 220 where the get 45% there question is 55% ?
He made a mistake there i believe
The question is "how many are left" so if it's 100% then the 55% of the tickets are sell. the 45% of the tickets are still left. That's why he multiply 4 and 45.
