Great van! It goes to show how durable these Mopar vans actually are when you take care of them. Every time I see the rust I’m thankful to live in CA. I have an 01 Town and Country Limited and a 95 Town and Country and neither have rust!
Nice! The seats look like they don't match, unless it's the lighting.. Also grab those rear 6x9 Infinity speakers, the 3rd gen's have a much better bass response than ANY 4th gen, and they bolt and plug right in. That is the first thing I changed on my 02 (4th GEN) Limited when I first got it. Thanks man and Happy New Year.
Ohhh , Animal needs an LXI ! You need those leather bucket seats ! You can pull heated seat warmers out of different vehicles and put them in whatever you like.. or order a kit.. I’m going to keep an eye open for a LXI now😂. I just found a 08 Town and Country touring ! Silver with grey leather and sunroof ! 240 kms. But asking price 6k Canadian Must keep looking.. I’m too cheap. 😂
Those are 99-2000 Limited seats. Most comfortable seats ive ever sat in. Someone decided to "upgrade". Those are LXI rims, as they were those painted gray rims over the chrome. Sad to see the strut towers gone, thats what killed my 98 LXI. Made 309k on that. Orginal drivetrain! Original owner. Was a great van, i should have bought 2
I honestly think my dream mopar van would be one of the turbo vans because they are so f'ing cool. My family has been mostly a gm family for years. Our past 4 have all been gms
@dannycohen8870 I'd love a turbo caravan as well! Never been around any of the gm minivans personally. Dad had a Ford Windstar at one point. What a pile of crap... but to its credit that roach is still crawling around. I saw it yesterday.
I remember when i was growing up in the late 1980's my family had a friend who did a lot of flea marketing. He bought a brand new 1989 or 1990(can't remember) Dodge Caravan with the turbo engine. It was burgandy exterior with tape stripes on the side of the front fender that said "Turbo". I had to take a second look because i didn't realize that even with Chrysler putting that 2.2 turbo 4 in EVERYTHING, i never knew you could get it in the minivans. That was the ONLY one i ever saw in my life.
@@MNMoparMinivan LOL That's funny but my family has never had a gm van my dad's family started the gm trend and my dad's car that he bought with his own money brand new was a 98 caviler 2 door that left my family when i was born because car seat issues. Our first gm suv was a 06 equinox which went 130k before getting smashed in the rear and now we have a traverse we went from the 3400 to the 3600
My family had a 1993 Pontiac Trans Sport SE. Yes we had a dustbuster. Good van until it fell apart prematurely. We replaced it with a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport. I loved both the vans. Both were good. Pontiac was a weird car. And I love weird cars. Sloped nose, opposed wipers, long tail lights, comfy seats and a good radio. And I absolutely loved how the pillars looked from the backseat point of view from D pillars to all the way to the a pillars. I don't only call these van as dustbusters, I also call them American Citroen Picasso's. Because the new ones remind me of the GM dustbusters a lot!!! But the dodge was way better!! More power and reliability. Comfortable captains chairs. Arm rests, Dual climates with about 11 vents, more storage space, airbags, opposed wipers, a banging stereo, cool dials, and we bought an option that a lot of caravans never had, we had like a foldable grocery tray thing that you can pull up from the floor to put more grocery bags in the back. But my favourite part of the car was the dashboard. I loved the style of it. And the center controls. My dad only bought minivans with opposed wipers and "sport" in the name
@@MNMoparMinivan I loved 3rd gens ALOT. And the 1993 T&C looks beautiful, and luxurious. Where I live, there are NO 1st and 2nd gens. They used the 1989 Dodge Caravans in the movie "Home Alone" 1990.
It appears that the rust did this baby in for sure! That strut tower was rusted to the point the whole strut assembly was going to go through the hood of the van. 😮 But otherwise how you can you complain when you get 350,000 miles out of a vehicle. Even for this generation, that's alot of miles. Especially if that was the original transmission.
Since this Van hasn't been in an obvious accident, I wonder if somebody just wanted to be unique, with the red front bumper hood tailgate and rear bumper.
nice LXI, thank you
Hello bud happy new year to Tom town and country lots of rust and fully loaded to and very high miles to nice seats no ropes thanks for video

The LXi's were nice. That one was taken cared of with over 340,000 miles. Good parts on that 2000. Happy New Year!

@GreyRockOne i noticed that in post as well... it explains why they were so nice for 330k is that the owner replaced them.

I can't believe that by 2000, Chrysler couldn't have found away to keep the strut towers from rusting so bad

To bad really nice interior 😔
If they were just careful not to hit any potholes with the right side, they probably could have gotten another 10 or 20k out of it. Gone too soon...
