Don't be scared to power wash the carpet while it's out of the cab. I spray with my favorite chemical, then go over it with a drill brush if it's bad and then a power washer. Any bad spots get the vet vac. I even do door cards while they are still on the car with the power washer, works awesome and really is minimal effort - just do them and the sills while doing the initial wash.
Merry Christmas Travis…you did an excellent job brining that old Dodge back to life. I hope it finds a new home quickly and sells for your asking price. Always enjoy your videos…looking forward to the next one.
Keep the cummins content coming! Enjoying it a lot and learning a lot as well. Don't let people pull you away from your passion. if its cummins diesels then stick with it. Lots of fans out there. Merry Christmas!
The floor in that truck cracked because that truck originally had a bench seat in it and didn't have the additional braces for the buckets seats bucket seat trucks have different floor braces to accommodate that you will have to make your own braces underneath other whys it will sit crooked and keep breaking. I know this from personal experience lol cool truck though man. and you should paint the surface rust on the floor now before it gets worse and then you have to do floors down the road carpet holds the moisture as you already said.
Go with what you know, keep on doing what you've been doing man. I thoroughly enjoy watching you and your father, if others don't too bad. There's only so much you can do to accommodate folks. Hope you and your family have a great holiday season.👍🏻
I would keep it. That would be a good work truck. Flat bed with the tool boxes it awesome. I like it way better than your other dodge you drive definitely
I knew someone who fell asleep driving and crashed into one of those giant saguaro cacti, absolutely totaled the car (those things are HEAVY and big). But your dad is right he got a $10k fine and had to do some kind of restitution thing for the state of AZ, they're heavily protected because they're in danger of going extinct
I lived in Tucson I remember seeing that truck on the south side of town all the time. IT was not taken care of good. I'm glad you got it and fixed it and made a working truck out of it again. I'll trade you to running small running trucks and some cash for it. No lying. And as always thank you kindly for your video. Happy holidays.
Those seats look like captains and the sleeper bench from a conversion van. Which in all honesty would be a wise way to make this "sleeper"cab seem right.
Great channel, you definitely live a different way of life in your part of the US 🇺🇸, I’m from the uk 🇬🇧 which is going through a bad time at the moment, anyway congrats on expecting your first child, , we named our daughter Chloe All the best Phil
after a cooling system repair/maintenance, with t-stat out & lower hose on, FILL the block & then install t-stat & upper hose then finish filling. Frm CHICAGO (I hit the 👍)
Hey remember when I asked about sourcing parts for older stuff...well that transfer case i asked about for my 99 GMC 2500 Suburban is gonna set me back 3k installed....sighhhhh! Merry Christmas to your family.
In my first gen I kept 3 regulator in there 2 on the fire wall and another in the glove box. They went bad all the time. It has to do the signal wire from the key. Making the headlights strobe at night. The strobe is the regulator turning off and on ( charging to not charging) fast enough to cause it to strobe. Eventually burning the regulator out. The way around it is to the the signal directly off the battery instead of the thin wire from the key switch.
I can show you the trick to get the sending units to work and read correct fuel level on them 1st and 2nd gens if ya want. Its genius and will add 2 grand to any truck value cause fuel gauges never works yep pain in the ass. Im always in Tucson picking up furniture.
The early 91s were non IC with the later grill. I know because mine is that half year. That early non IC cummins are better than the later ones, They have better pistons that had a 155 degree spray injectors , the injection pump is better making more power and turbo is better. Those engines are manufactured at a different factory for industrial use if you look at the data plate on the side of the timing cover it will tell you the code CPL 804 and than when cummins and Mopar were teamed together the later IC engines were made at a cummins plant that was strictly for Ram which was CPL 1579
Clean interior with strong soap and distilled water! Then coat it down in baby oil! Think about what vinyl is made from, oil! The stuff soakes in and makes it soft and shiny again. Try it, it works and it's cheap!!
I think both rims looks good on them trucks , it’s just personal preference and neither is right or wrong. Also I think it depends on the style of the truck as well on which way you go on rim look.
Merry Christmas to you and the family brother! My two sons already opened up all of their gifts and now we're getting ready to go over to my mother in law's house. We lost my father in law back in April, so this Christmas is really hard for my mother in law. God bless brother!
It's funny how Dodge back in the day used to put like Chrysler LeBaron / Dodge diplomat hubcaps on their full size Dodge trucks? I always thought it was funny and then if it was a four-wheel drive it would have a little cut out for the switch to go from 2 to 4 wheel drive on the hubs.
Helping you in the family had a wonderful Christmas, I was coming back from spending Christmas Eve with my grandkids and ex-wife and I had to drop a table off at my daughter's so they can have Christmas Day dinner and lo and behold I had a flat tire as I was parked in her driveway. Well you know the economy has been tough on everybody but even tougher on us folks that live on disability it wasn't always that way I've worked very hard my whole life, but now it comes down to whether I pay my rent or have foodie or buy tires for my truck. You think those tires are old on that truck I have tires that are on my daily driver that are probably from the 90s. Thanks for sharing as always Travis and again I hope you and your family are well and doing great Happy New Year
Heck man, that engine and trans is worth the $3000 alone! You can scrap the shell and make some of your money back if need be. If that thing was cleaned up with some new bulbs in places, a new set of tires, some regular maintenance, and you've got yourself a nice reliable car hauler with a sleeper.
That would be a nice sleeper truck with a bundle of money and a little imagination . Those jars are 12.00 for a whole case here in Tennessee. It's the blue jars with the big prices
That ole gal gets outta jail or rehab wherever and see that truck in town walks up and says my ole truck but interior throwing her off a trippin her out LoL..
I’m jealous because I live here in Australia 🇦🇺 but I’m happy that these early Dodge’s that you have in the states are becoming popular because I have always thought that they are a good truck with potential
Hey Travis you're back.. I hope you're feeling better.. you know personally.. I would have high pressure sprayed that interior out before I even got in it... I bought used car one time and had to vacuum it out it was so bad.. my wife at the time made me wear a mask.. man Travis that truck turned out nice.. the motor sounds really good in it.. you did a good job on that one and this video to
I like your channel better you work almost on everything but the most interesting part of your videos you and your dad drive old trucks keep doing the good videos.
not sure if you know or not but if thats a NV4500 you have to use special oil in trans. causes major damage if not used i looked forever for my 1994 finally got it from Amsoil make sure you research it to make sure
Put it in gear and not go anywhere.. of course, Cummins only makes the engine. And you are absolutely correct on the baby name. Wait until you meet her.
I have a early 91 same way that truck was a fairly common conversion when they were new especially with horse people . My dad had a horse trailer sales I was a young man remember seeing several of em
Dodge was known for selling bulk trucks to RV places and other for customization projects, and sometimes they would send them out to be customized. When this happened, it wasn't uncommon to find many non-factory additives like van style seats, bench bed combos and so on. Many times, these could be repurposed old stock that got upgraded, like a 1993 that is actually a 1991 with a replacement grill slapped on. They could get away with this because RV's and other customization companies didn't have to meet the same requirements as they did, including emissions. I did read somewhere that the crew cab of this body style was cancelled after 1985, but when it comes to government, who knows. You can find all kinds of crazy variations that were sold to the government. All the trucks sold to customization companies would likely have been base models, and if an intercooler was charged to the customer as an add on, then that would explain why this one doesn't have one. Kind of like the base option being a standard transmission, yet no standard transmission vehicles were made that year kind of logic...lol. Being these seats look like the seats you might find in a van, I would say they are likely the original in the sense that the original bench seat never got to see the road...lol. As far as the alternator goes, back in the old days, it wasn't uncommon for one to take out the other being the voltage regulator, commonly when you saw this though it was typically the voltage regulator that took out the alternator. Great video, thank you for sharing.
Merry Christmas to you and your dad Travis. Boxing day here in New Zealand and its a good day to chill and watch vids. Thanks for the upload. That truck is nasty alright but it has potential.
Don't be scared to power wash the carpet while it's out of the cab. I spray with my favorite chemical, then go over it with a drill brush if it's bad and then a power washer. Seems he's selling it as, besides rust in Tucson is hardly a concern

😂😂😂 I’m sure a mouse was moving the seat foam to the glovebox
Ain’t nothing like watching a forgotten Cummins start up and drive when your 7.3 powerstroke is sitting outside and won’t start 😅
I would keep it. That would be a good work truck. Flat bed with the tool boxes it awesome. I like it way better than your other dodge you drive definitely

But your dad is right he got a $10k fine and had to do some kind of restitution thing for the state of AZ, they're heavily protected because they're in danger of going extinct
Yep they are no joke
Typical of a state government to pile on when you've already had a major ACCIDENT, and make it even worse!
Enjoying the video! The makeup, bottle caps and all the change makes me think that sleeper cab was business area for her lol. If the truck can talk 😂
Those 91's had a bad-ass grill/face. It looks like it really conveys business. That Cummins growl adds to the appeal, both visually and aurally.
Those seats look like captains and the sleeper bench from a conversion van. Which in all honesty would be a wise way to make this "sleeper"cab seem right.
Yeah I think the back seat pulls out into a bed it looks like the couch in my RV? It is very similar.
I agree seats look just like two front seats and rear folding seat from a 96 Dodge conversion van I used to own
Love the early westy rabbit pickup your dads got white and blue is an awesome spec
I would have kept the old carpet in, vaccumed it and put the nicer carpet on top of it. Free extra sound insulation.
Great channel, you definitely live a different way of life in your part of the US 🇺🇸, I’m from the uk 🇬🇧 which is going through a bad time at the moment, anyway congrats on expecting your first child, , we named our daughter

You have such a great channel Travis. I’ve learned so much from you and your dad. I look forward to all your videos. Congrats on your baby.
That’s awesome I’m glad to hear that
That back seat reminds me of the back seat of the old Dodge vans of the 80s
Thanks for this educating and entertaining video Travis. 👍🏿
Merry Christmas Travis and Rick and to All Your Loved Ones!!! I’m ready for another adventure on this Christmas Day!!
Thanks for the content Travis!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!!
Livin' in a van down near the river...
Merry Christmas, I love the 1st gens and Cummins in general as an owner of a 92 12 valve. Great job Travis I've been making sure not to miss a video.
Strong work Travis, Looking good Rick!

What a cool truck. Best of luck with it. Merry Christmas. A great service truck
Merry Christmas Travis and family 🙏

On that carpet, if you have a pressure washer and some pavement you could get it pretty clean.
Merry Christmas to you and the family brother! My two sons already opened up all of their gifts and now we're getting ready to go over to my mother in law's house. We lost my father in law back in April, so this Christmas is really hard for my mother in law. God bless brother!

Merry Christmas, thanks for the video.
Hope That Nasty Goes Away, But I Love That Sleeper Cab Though. Merry Christmas Travis.
“Tomorrow Travis”. Hilarious
Your father's right. I agree with him that second-generation rims look better
Harbor freight has a rust converter that I use alot. It seems to be a good product to stop future rusting issues. Iron Armor Rust Reformer.

Merry Christmas Travis and Dad. Thanks for all the cool videos in 2024.
That would be a nice sleeper truck with a bundle of money and a little imagination . Those jars are 12.00 for a whole case here in Tennessee. It's the blue jars with the big prices
Back seat should fold down. And use compressed air to hit the carpet befor powerwashing.
That ole gal gets outta jail or rehab wherever and see that truck in town walks up and says my ole truck but interior throwing her off a trippin her out LoL..
Great video keep up the hard work and merry Christmas
Enjoyed this episode ty
Merry Christmas Everybody. Great watching another Cummins video.

Love that factory tachometer on the dash. They are hard to come by.
that 7.3 was a 200 dollar junk-e you run from and don't look back it will bite.
Thankyou for the content, another great video. Happy Christmas to you and our whole family.
Lol I love the dad he's awesome
Mery christmas travis.. Great video as always.. I'm glad you didn't get stung on the ford..
NOCO booster packs kick a$$!! Love mine!!
It’s nasty, but it’s really cool
But I bet it’s gonna be your daily shop and tow rig
Gen 1 Dodge w/a Cummins. Nice! You don't see many of these left on the roads.
The seats you took out, and the back seat look like they came out of a conversion van. I could be wrong. The Cacti there are beautiful!
not sure if you know or not but if thats a NV4500 you have to use special oil in trans. causes major damage if not used i looked forever for my 1994 finally got it from Amsoil make sure you research it to make sure
Like the three door Suburbans in the early 70's. The opening door was on the side away from traffic.
Put it in gear and not go anywhere.. of course, Cummins only makes the engine. And you are absolutely correct on the baby name. Wait until you meet her.
Feliz navidad!!!y gran video!!!
Merry Christmas

20V drill with a brush will scrub your carpet and look close to new. While it’s out you could pressure the carpet.
