I think in this version he is angry at the other half of a dysfunctional relationship, whereas in the live version he seems to have accepted more of his role in the dysfunction. Thats my take on the differences anyway.
I think i have watched your few videos about 8 times each except for this one it seems i am the First. I enjoy watching people living in the Tool moment.
Pushit is one of my favorite TOOL songs! It's just amazing. Beautiful melodies throughout with the instrumentation and the vocals. Also I love how soothing Maynard's singing voice is. Honestly I love both the studio version and live version the same, but I enjoy the beginning part of the live version more. Much more emotional. Great reaction once again! You understand the band very well I think! You're really into it and it's awesome to see! I would love to see you react to The Grudge, The Patient, Schism, and Lateralus next! :)
There’s no loser between the two version.....As far as which songs?......I mean every fan such as the “man behind the camera” and myself as a 45 year old life long fan would suggest every single song...Of course everyone would watch....you’re both intelligent and have a great epistemology diagnosing the bands art
Crazy to think this has been my favorite song for 25 years now. Looking back on it as a kid and the perceived "devastating" effects of a break up of a 17 year old are laughable. But the emotion and the artistry are still the same. Glad to find others who love it as well.
Fuck, I wish I could bottle Justin's bass tone and used it on my bass without having to drop like 5 grand on a Wal bass, all his effects pedals, and amp lol. I can tell I'm listening to a Tool song just by hearing a single note played on the bass guitar. It's so crisp. I can listen to the breakdown in the middle of this song, in particular, on repeat. It sets such an interesting atmosphere and the bass is hypnotic. It's a weird combination of soothing, exotic, and mysterious.
I bought a Les Paul guitar and ended up building a mini home studio just so I could learn to play Pushit and Lateralus with something somewhat close to Adam's tone. True story, and no regrets.
Thoroughly enjoying your journey of Tool... i have two suggestions. First, instead of jumping ahead to future albums or songs like some in the comments suggest perhaps go backwards a bit to Undertow, specifically Bottom, Sober or Crawl Away. I would love to hear your thoughts on "older" Tool. Second suggestion (in case you disregard my first) stick with songs from Aenima album, I think there's a subtle importance to have album continuity when listened to Tool. Looking forward to the next selection!!
Both songs are 10/10 for me...again I love the tone and mood the studio starts off with and somedays I want this version and other days I want the live version...
You 2 are in the perfect position to experience tool as they were meant to be experienced imo. Reacting to the earlier stuff first, undertow/aenima you are tapping into their portrayal of raw emotion. Opiate is anger, resentment & taking the piss out of people. I will not ruin the other 3 album's for you but I will say you will notice & experience the growth within each member of the band. Awesome reaction, keep it coming...Tool since 93'✌
Salival version is just god-tier. I mean, it's better to listen studio version first, because after live version it seems just... Well, just okay-song you know. Edit: can't wait to see reaction to Parabol/Parabola, Wings for Marie pt2 or Pneuma
I heard Undertow first, then Aenima, Opiate, Lateralus, Salival, 10,000 days and finally Fear Innoculum (sp?). Tool's like a collection of David Lynch or Tim Burton movies one can't get enough of. Very abstract and you hear something and feel something new each time. I've been a fan since the 90's and still am fascinated! I wouldntind doing a reaction video, and I agree. It would be great to see Parabol/Parabola reacted too. Or The Patient. That one reminds me of Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned. Maynard James Keenan and his most-talented army of fellow musicians has shaped my entire self. Keep it up! I think this an excellent way for people to be introduced to musicians they have down played because a friend dislikes it or doesn't even know who Tool (AND THE BEATLES-I passed Sophomore English by STUDYING the lyrics of The Beatles). If anyone has any bands they would like to share that I may not know of, please do. I can appreciate most music. Even country though that and Jazz are tough. ;-) Btw, it almost looks like people are in ecxtasy as they hear these tracks. Lovin it.
How many times did you listen to salival version? You seem to really know the song already, I’m guessing you’ve been listening a lot....welcome to the Tool army.... spiral out sista......🌀
I've love both equally...for different reasons...I absolutely love the beginning of this one I love it's more to the point and aggressive style but I love the softer more instrumental aspect of the live one...
Take your time with this album before moving on. Plus go back and watch the live version of Sober... a stunning performance, especially by Maynard (while he was still coming forward on stage). Another great reaction!
Pushit "The Fan" version on You Tube is the best version imo, it's not great audio quality, but you can still tell that the singer is belting it to the full extent while also sitting on a person that jumped onto the stage trying to hug him. Truly epic. (Video is a must, you see the guy get on the stage, and then the singer takes him to the ground, get's on top of him, and continues to sing this song, and the lyrics take on yet another meaning)
Another great live song is Jerk it by Tool. Specifically the live version from 10.10.1999. Its a very different vibe from Pushit and its poor quality compared but its one of their early songs from their demo tape and its super raw. And it happens to have the best Maynard live scream of all time, so there is that. Love what you do! I subbed and put the bell on because there is no way I'm going to miss a new video from you!
I was actually thinking of starting a painting on it, depicting my Tool journey - like it would grow and develop in the background with every new Tool video reaction :) She.
You should here Tattoo Rings and New Age Blues by Cam Cole. He plays guitar, sings, and drums with his feet all at the same time. He also sings Myself & Losers.
I think this is about his relationship with his father when he had to move their after his moms condition...I'm sure his father being a wrestling coach was possibly a hard disciplinarian and they may have had a rough relationship....
The genius of Maynard is vast. You should try reacting to some other stuff. A Perfect Circle or Puscifer are his other outlets. Weak and Powerless (Tilling my own grave mix) is awesome.
Lateralus. Definitely the most inspirational song. Don’t forget to watch this video about some math in Lateralus - th-cam.com/video/uOHkeH2VaE0/w-d-xo.html
Never appreciated the album version until i heard it live. Also hard to stand out when sandwiched between Jimmy and Aenima. At this point you guys should finish off the whole Aenima album you are practically half way there.
Both versions are good, but I agree the Live version is better. I do really like these lines "Rest my finger on your trigger, bang my head upon the fault line". Essentially the partner sets up the scenario to cause them harm and then punishes you for not finding the way to avoid harming them. It's brilliant.
I love this song, but I dont enjoy it. The feeling is too real. Puts words to unspoken emotion. Something that is terrible to relate to. I love this song.
I think in this version he is angry at the other half of a dysfunctional relationship, whereas in the live version he seems to have accepted more of his role in the dysfunction. Thats my take on the differences anyway.
The lyrics are the same either way Meaning of the song is the same Love U Guys!
@@mikesale100 There is difference in the inflection in his voice though. Giles thats a good interpretation, I like that.

The grudge coming soon ;) thank you for good words!
@@initum1599 Very welcome! Can't wait to see! :D
As a continuation of Tool emotion jorney I would highly suggest their Led Zeppelin's cover on No Quarter. It is from Salival album as well
There’s no loser between the two version.....As far as which songs?......I mean every fan such as the “man behind the camera” and myself as a 45 year old life long fan would suggest every single song...Of course everyone would watch....you’re both intelligent and have a great epistemology diagnosing the bands art
I always get goosebumps at your "favourite part" Amazing song.
Keep up the great reactions.
My personal score is 10/10 for both versions of Pushit. The Salival version is one of the greatest live performances I ever heard :)

Tool is SO good live almost 30 yrs than I started with them they STILL do the songs SO great live they ARE the greatest band

That's amazing
If I may suggest, INVINCIBLE, love your tool reactions, I've subbed!
Invincible is epic!
Great reaction! If to stay in the live/studio theme... Pneuma- studio/Pnauma live Danny Carey drum cam! TooL =GOAT, Please and thank you!
If when I say I may fade like a sigh if I stay. Love this lyric.
Sober as well.

Maynerd never heard the music until the band has it done. Then, he adds the vocals. He writes the lyrics, after the band has written the music.
Both songs are 10/10 for me...again I love the tone and mood the studio starts off with and somedays I want this version and other days I want the live version...
This song can be summed up in one word. “Masterpiece”

I kind of agree. They're just different songs for me. The opening of the studio version is still mesmerizing.

Really loving these reactions.
Another great breakdown & reaction! 😎
Enjoy your Tool reactions. I like your discussions after the songs as well.

Lateralus is a must. Still my favorite song by Tool
This song to me is about an abused persons perspective.....they feel this person wont stop until someone is dead I've been there it SO fits

@@initum1599 That sounds great! Please do so.
His subconscious memory is eating at him. This whole album is amazing.
I think i'm in love ,XD
Do yourself a favor and listen from the first EP to the last Album. The way God and Maynard intended. Lol
Maynard IS GOD
I love how you LEARN to listen to Tool!
You should here Tattoo Rings and New Age Blues by Cam Cole. He plays guitar, sings, and drums with his feet all at the same time. He also sings Myself & Losers.
This song seems to have “an effect” on you.
Love your channel
They finish the music part of there songs then MJK puts the lyrics to the music. He listen to it till he finds the lyrics
The live version is on the album Salival....
I have a feeling you will love A Perfect Circle, Maynards other group. Check them out after Tool. 🙏
I think this is about his relationship with his father when he had to move their after his moms condition...I'm sure his father being a wrestling coach was possibly a hard disciplinarian and they may have had a rough relationship....
If you love Maynard then you need to listen to his other two bands. A perfect Circle and Puscifer. ✌
Absolutely
Wings for Marie 1&2 are very sad but is a must listen.
Subscribed for your tool reactions, all there songs are good but they sort of get better as they get newer
Given the current climate, you should listen to "The Pot".
Just do right in two you will be blown away
