And everytime I could have backstabbed someone, the game decided to deny me that 3 times in a row before the f2p Heavy turned around and mowed me down into gibs.

I do love that Soldier, Heavy, and Spy are the only ones to actually pull their neck back rather than have their body elastically swing to the side to go along with their necks. It shows the toughness of their characters well.
Somehow, I feel like the Spy's is actually to emphasize his relative fragility compared to everyone else. Most of the mercs, being red-blooded head-to-head combat-loving freaks who can take a slug or two and keep on swinging, are like rubber. Soldier and Heavy, the brick walls, solidly crack to show their sturdiness. Spy's the backstabbing coward who dies as soon as he has someone's attention. He cracks to show he's made of glass, and also because we like to see painful things happening to someone who won't flog us to death in a frying pan duel like a Mann.

I like the idea of adding a little more mystery to Pyro by his neck not actually "snapping" but him making like an owl and just being able to turn his head completely, like it's something whatever's under the suit can do but just doesn't for some reason until soldier forcefully does it to it.
Pyro's head doesn't 360 degree turn, his entire body turns with the snap like everyone else (except Soldier, Heavy, and Spy, whose heads actually do snap before they fix it)

They all made me laugh so hard! The sound design is amazing, voice lines are spot-on, and the animation is great. It's so hard to pick a favorite. Although, I absolutely love the detail of Medic taking his glasses off before getting his neck snapped, then drops them when his neck is snapped, then picks them up and puts them back on when it's all done. Then his line "I think I have a concussion." made me lose it.
