I still can't believe this game has over an hour long soundtrack yet the only time you hear music is in the main menu, taunts and occasionally when you win.
I mean most of them are in the promotional vids
I wish there was situational music depending what is happening in the game and what class you play
But surely in the story mode....

The fact I have never played TF2 in my life and yet still recognize all the song, just tells you how good the ost is
i mean, the soundtracks are only in the main menu of the base game, excluding community servers, so it really isnt that suprising

Tf2 music is the one thing you never forget
well, i wouldn't say that the reason we all remember them all is because the OST is *just that good* (although, yeah, it is), but rather due to how prolific those songs became in the internet culture as a whole, mostly thanks to the meet the team videos. to have never played the game is one thing, but to have never seen, say for example, meet the medic or even any of the mvm trailers...one can hardly imagine an internet user older than 10 who had never seen those.

I love how red triumphs has more of a rustic, traditional military type, while blue has a modern (for the time) electric guitar riff. It really compliments both teams styles.
Just look at the different materials used in each TwoFort base.

all this theming is also bc of the businesses themselves. red is a company that specializes in demolition, hence the bomb on their logo. blu specializes in construction, hence the wrench in their logo. blu creates, red destroys.

TF2 soundtrack is not just random music. It's music that represents the game in a thematic and sentimental way. No many games can do this.

I love how perfectly the Mann Vs. Machine OST represents the struggle against the robots. How each track in progression throughout emphasises the overwhelming dread the mercenaries face as the robots impose their doom, the struggle against such threat and the recovery as the mercenaries take control and succeed in the fight.

The TF2 OST has absolutely no reason to go as hard as it does
No other shooter has ever matched the artistry on display here. The writing is extremely clever, even down to the descriptions and names for items. The voice acting is world class; entirely in a league of its own. And then the soundtrack is relentlessly punchy and exciting.
The whole game had no business going this hard. Multimedia masterpiece. 😂

"More awesome music" is the word that really gives me the creeps. What if the songs added aren't as recognizable, or they are downright bad? I'd stick to the songs Valve made. And, having an update that doesn't include community cosmetics is impossible.
