For music with bass it does provide the true sounds of how the song suppose to be and with clarity. Unfortunately I never experience the xm3. Oh and not to mentioned bose does have muti-pairing features that works perfectly while I'm listening music on laptop and answer the phone when it rings. After 2 months of searching I decide to give jabra a try due to features similar to bose and then some. Got them for cheap can't wait for it to arrived!!!
I had tested Sony WH-1000XM3 and BOSE QC35 II. Obviously, Sony is not what I expected while listening to audiophile music. BOSE is the best. I bought BOSE QC35 II in Qatar. I am very happy with it.. Thank you..
Bro what are you talking about. The Sony distortion at Max Volume??? What music are you listen to? I use a LG V20 to stream Spotify Premium via LDAC technology and the SONY sound marvelous. Before purchasing I went to listen to both headphones in Japan and the Bose sounded like a Toy. Completely Equalized in A shape. So muffled exactly like the Beats. People saying how good the Bose sound are people that have already bought it and don't want to trash it or that never listened to a good set of headphones via a good DAC/AMP. Sony made the best sounding bluetooth headphone out there hands down and Bose needs to step up their game in sound quality if they want to compete.
I actually have both of them, I bought the Bose first then bought the Sony's after seeing a couple of reviews. Here's what I think is better on each headphone. Sony: Sound (adjustable EQ and Soundstage is absolutely amazing), Noise cancelling, Build Quality, Battery, Touch Controls, Value Bose: Comfort (these are more spacious and are much more comfortable), Multi-device connection, better call microphones Overall, Sony has a better sound quality and top of the line noise cancellation. Also, the touch controls are spectacular. But if you are gonna wear over-ear ANC headphones on the street or for longer periods, go with Bose, as it's much more comfortable to wear. For travel, both are good but Sony's have better noise cancelling. So I would say go for the Sony over the Bose if you had to choose one, as it has much more advanced controls and quality.
To have to take off the headphones to just speak on the phone (As with the sonys) I'm afraid is a deal breaker for me, especially when combined with only 1 pairing. The higher sound quality and ANC in sony's I'm afraid does not outweigh those huge negatives (pretty much no mic for call talk, and only 1 item pairing), as it's not that higher to outweigh it.
I know Sony and Bose have newer models out, but Sam's Club has the Bose QC35 II on sale for $170. Bought them yesterday, and my use is travel and calls. The Bose are much better for calls when compared to Sony....in my opinion.
You took the headphones, partialized them and cooked all the details to the user, more than excellent delivery of information, only one video is enough for decision which one to buy, thank you!
Thank you! I watched many of these but your details, the Bose is best for me. I need to be able to sleep on occasion and the cold messing up the So y touch is a game changer. Thank you!
I like both a lot - like the physical buttons and ability to quick switch between laptop and phone but USB-C charging and 3.5mm headphone jack lead me to Sony just so as an Android user I can carry 1 charger and 1 connector cable when flying. Solid reviews including your Why Not To Buy Bose is and Why Not To Buy Sony vids
I think Bose qc35II is better because it is.p much harder to scratch, it looks better. I looked on my phone camera and I looked like an absolute ALIEN with Sony’s but with Bose I looked really good.Qc35II is better for sound because Bose is known for sound. I tried both at the store before getting qc35 and I didn’t really see the difference in ANC.
I guess at the end of the day, my prime concern is which will last longer? All of the comparisons I have seen say Bose are better built than Sony. So although sound is super important to me, paticularly in this price range, I am more concerned with durability and longevity.
Hey young Mike. This is a very serious question. I have been trying to find headphones for about 6 years now that block out my wife's snoring, she had an operation and has since turned into a rhino or something when she sleeps. It's really bad to the point we have to sleep in separate rooms just so I can get some sleep. We even tried sperate beds across the same room but it was still too loud and by the way, I take sleeping tablets too.lolol, oh my poor life. Lol. Good job I love her. Aaneey waay! Sound quality and comfort are not the point here, I can deal with lack of comfort and I only listen to podcasts or audible books. My big question is purely ANC. Which set of cans has the best active noise cancellation when turned on? I know they will not completely hide her racket but which will do the best job? Consider yourself as a marriage saver for this English couple. Lol. Thanks in advance. By the way, for a young chap your videos have great style but be careful not to over do that style. I think you have it just right (I have watched quite a few of your videos now whilst trying to research). Also, you do manage to actually get a lot of good info into your videos which a lot of TH-camrs think they are doing when being loud but all they are doing is being loud. You actually do your research and own experience and get it to stylish videos. So, well done young fella and thank you.
Hey bro I love your videos, but after Looking lots of videos to buy best pair of headphones, I’m getting more confuse, can you please help me to suggest a headphone as per my requirement and budget ($ 220). My requirements are (1) Great sound quality (2) Multiple devices connection (3) Best microphone call quality.
I was about to purchase the sonys but I had not tried them on, so I went to my local best buy and gave them a spin. I am no audio file but I now a good pair of heads to bad ones. I have had Bose products in the past (earbuds and wired over ear) both sounding good to me and I from reviews on the sonys i was thinking "hmm, these are so much better than the Bose." But when I got to best buy and went back and forth between Bose and Sony and came to a confusing conclusion that that I just enjoyed the Bose more than the Sonys, the sonys we clear and loud and the bass TO me was alright but the Bose were crisp and clean and the bass was soooooo good, I might sound crazy but I like the Bose more than the sonys even with all the nice feature from sony.
Excellent review! I have the Bose Q35 and I was looking into getting the Sony but after watching your video, I think the Bose will suit my needs more because of work and travel so I will stick to it!
Bose would literally just have to add a few small features and a better app to the QC35II's and they'd be the king of headphones easily. I mean 2019 and Sony can only pair to one device still... big let down, more so then anything Bose is missing out on. Seriously thinking about buying a pair of Bose despite the new 700s and the Sony's being reviewed better. I purely need something for comfort listening (TH-cam, Movies, Music either on my Laptop or Phone while at home) so NC isn't a must but it will help with some house noises like the washing machine or vacuum and all those tech features Sony has really doesn't make me want to buy them any more then what Bose offer, I have zero need for most of them. Also on a preference note, I prefer a neutral sound so I think Bose win on that.
I really like the call quality test, but it would be nice to hear the difference (even if minimal) in a baseline quieter environment. Just to know how the mics are normally.
Most reviews tend to agree which of these headphones are better at ANC but tend to wildly vary on which are better for music. I personally side with reviewers who Sony's stage narrower and the sound muddier. Although I own neither I have listened to both when doing research. I will probably go for the Bose ones, and will have to live with the weaker ANC capability.
Watching this with my Bose QC35ii. i would still choose the Bose over the Sonys, because I can connect them to two devices at once. I can work on my laptop and phone and change the audio between the two by just pausing the audio on one device. Plus, they sound great. Good video. Greetings from México :-)
Are the two headphones pretty similar? I prefer the look of the Bose and I’ll only use the headphones at home and in a couple of months I’m going on holiday and I don’t go pretty frequently. Which ones are comfortable to lie down and listen to music to and which ones do you suggest for me?
I personally like the bose for my use, which is mostly video editing. If you're enjoying music go for the sony! Bose sound quality is great with acoustic music, but sony is all round better
I'll be getting the sonys from out of state. But with my time with the sonys they are comfortable and the sound is amazing as well as the noise cancelling. The noise cancelling is crazy good I love them but the earcups did get a little bit sweaty but that is tiny bit
Sonys are great the sound quality noise cancelling. Idk if u have android but if u do all u have to do is put the back of ur phone on the left ear cup and boom they connect just like that. Super fast and the headphones automatically turn on if u do that. The ear cup feature is awesome where u put the palm over the ear cup is super useful
Tajveer Deol haha I was thinking about getting the Sony’s because of the greater sound quality and NC but also you can get them on amazon for 270 I think
Great comparison as Always man! Love your videos. Only drawback, way don't you mention micro-usb (bose) vs usb-c imput (sony)? For me in 2019 year that is really important.
Hi! Very Good video. But the Sony is 5 times the cost of Bose model , microphone cost value. It;s not an apple to apple comparison in my opinion. Thanks for the info.
This is the first time i hear someone saying some else headphones have better noise cancelling than bose. i dont know if sony is better or not since im not able to get my hand on them
The V-Moda M-100 headphone good for bass it makes beats look like cheap bass headphones. The beyerdynamic DT 770 headphones are way cheaper and provide more clarity with (lows and mids and high) with decent bass. All headphones should have amps(portable or non-portable.) To enhance your music experience to max potential. :)
SupersonicPug so what would you recommend for someone who likes bass but also like other types of music that aren’t bass heavy. I was gonna get the Sony m3
Get the beyerdynamic DT 770 headphones their 150 ish or more depending on which one you want. Then depending on the type you get, choose an amp to make them sound 1000 times better. The beyerdynamic DT 770 are not really flashy cool looking headphones portable because of the ugly wire but their professional recording studio headphones designed for good bass with clarity throughout the music. 80 to less ohm version don't require a strong amp, so any 150 or less dollar worth of an amp should be good. For the 250 ohm(the best for clarity) requires a more high end portable amp. I heard the 80 ohm is the best for bass.
If you want something that's good for all types of genres the Audiotechnica m50x give a flat sound which means with an amp they come to life and provide an equal sound (the flatter the sound the more it sounds like the original sound of what the music is suppose to sound like).
Ok I guess I have a question regarding the call quality test. I thought the Bose was hands down better because I could still understand you while with the Sony's you cut in and out and it was a mess. But both were pretty bad, mostly because the volume of your voice was so low. Is that adjustable?
just got tge xm3 and they are best when used for music the down side is the fact that they dont pair to two devices at the sane time like jabra 45eor 65ts thanks good video
The Sony headset made my ears sweat after 10 mins and made me feel quite sick with the noise cancelling on whatever level. loads more customization on the sonys but the above and the fact I have a small head the bose are much nicer. I also prefer the sound stage of the bose too much more.

This was the best review that helped me decide after watching so many review videos that never satisfied my indecisiveness to choose between those two. Not planning to listen to music while I study so the sound quality did not matter. Thank you!

I just got Bose I liked how they sounded better when testing them plus they are on sale for 199 while the Sony is still 350
I had tested Sony WH-1000XM3 and BOSE QC35 II.
Sony made the best sounding bluetooth headphone out there hands down and Bose needs to step up their game in sound quality if they want to compete.
very well said.
No dispute here ! Nice comment
I actually have both of them, I bought the Bose first then bought the Sony's after seeing a couple of reviews. Here's what I think is better on each headphone.
Sony: Sound (adjustable EQ and Soundstage is absolutely amazing), Noise cancelling, Build Quality, Battery, Touch Controls, Value
Bose: Comfort (these are more spacious and are much more comfortable), Multi-device connection, better call microphones
Overall, Sony has a better sound quality and top of the line noise cancellation.
Dene. F. I have both and it’s definitely the Sony’s the noise cancelling is incredible
Hey bro I love your videos, but after Looking lots of videos to buy best pair of headphones, I’m getting more confuse, can you please help me to suggest a headphone as per my requirement and budget ($ 220).
My requirements are
(1) Great sound quality (2) Multiple devices connection (3) Best
microphone call quality.
I really dont know which one to get so im probably just going to the store and try them on which are the most comfy
What about battery life, what about bluetooth delay, what about 2.5 jacks?
How is this a one year review if the Sonys haven’t been out for a year? Asking for a friend.
he may have gotten them early, they sometimes do that with reviewers for beta testing
Right now Sony's are 278 usd on Amazon . Thinking to jump ship from my QC25s
Carson Rice I just bought the bise qc 35 II black one retailing in France at 269 euros
Got a Sony 1000x M3 today, so happy with it! It's expensive but quite a good investment anyway. 👍🎧💛
Hey buddy! Yea it's really a matter of personal preference and the user knowing what kind of sound they want in the end
Thank you, took bose for 220 with discount, just perfect for work.
I really like the call quality test, but it would be nice to hear the difference (even if minimal) in a baseline quieter environment. Just to know how the mics are normally.
Let me save u the hassle. Anything mic related is hands down Bose's turf
The new bose 700's ANC is really good, same level as sony 1000xm3
@@MikeWatBut, OMG, the price of those! But good to know - thanks!
The saying is: "No High's or Low's...must be Bose".
Thanks for the great review! Was looking for headphones to help me sleep and this covered everything I wanted to know 👍
Watching this with my Bose QC35ii. i would still choose the Bose over the Sonys, because I can connect them to two devices at once. I can work on my laptop and phone and change the audio between the two by just pausing the audio on one device. Plus, they sound great. Good video. Greetings from México :-)
When did the Bose release? Is there anything scheduled for this year?
One of the most objectives reviews I have seen. Good video keep it up!
That is why I liked boss because of the comfortably and durability.. and sound as well. the sound is crisp very details.
Can't wait for the next Bose Headphone, "QC45"..!! For me Bose has always been my no.1 pick when it comes to headphones.
cant wait either!
Any idea as to when or if they'll release the qc45? Or the sony xm4's
Thank the qc45 will look better with a more Refined Look we hope.
No it’s not nose 45 it’s bose 700
@@cicisunny6795 oh ok lol will the 700 do look more refined then the qc 35 I hope it sound better now.
Hinges on Sony are way too fragile and always get my ears sweaty. I am now using boss and loving it
Too fragile? I have seen no issues from really anyone regarding them being fragile except for the 1000x three years ago
BOOM another awesome review and helped me on yet another purchase
How you only have 20k subs is beyond me. Thanks again
Oh I got the Sony’s as ima bass lover
Are the two headphones pretty similar? I prefer the look of the Bose and I’ll only use the headphones at home and in a couple of months I’m going on holiday and I don’t go pretty frequently. Which ones are comfortable to lie down and listen to music to and which ones do you suggest for me?
I personally like the bose for my use, which is mostly video editing. If you're enjoying music go for the sony!
Bose sound quality is great with acoustic music, but sony is all round better
Mike Wat thanks so much
The sony mic is freaking awful, I had the choice of bose 700s or xm3s for almost the same price and I went with xm3 for now but I might return them.
I have the choice of getting the Bose or the Sony but which one would use guys get and why?
Yo I just got the sonys but I returned them not because of anything bad but here in California the sales tax is crazy I ended up paying $377
Get the sony!!
Big question at this point would you wait for MX4s?
I doubt there will be anything even more amazing in XM4 - XM3 is already really good!
Does it work for the snore problem? Your feedback will help me a lot especially I’m d person who sensitive to sound during sleep.
Felix Chong yes it is. I have the same problem too . Cheers
Love ur vids great review I also like how you dont upload everyday but instead bring high quality content every time
😊👍 Thanks buddy! I wish I could upload quality content everyday though xD
The best review for an average consumer out there. How it looks as well as sounds. Very amaze.
This is the first time i hear someone saying some else headphones have better noise cancelling than bose. i dont know if sony is better or not since im not able to get my hand on them
what about skullcandy venues? do they stand up to the sony's and bose?
The bass on the sonys is too good to pass on
The V-Moda M-100 headphone good for bass it makes beats look like cheap bass headphones.
I can barely afford 1 of these headphones and you have both 😀
Get the beyerdynamic DT 770 headphones their 150 ish or more depending on which one you want.
@@sussychachi Thanks man, appreciate your long reply 😊 I actually found the Sonys on sale and couldn't resist. 😅😅
@@PeterPengKrogh get an amp and wired headphones decent ones, your missing out on music. 😆
@@sussychachi You don't want to walk in public with ugly studio headphones with a long ass wire.
Thanks buddy!
The Sony headset made my ears sweat after 10 mins and made me feel quite sick with the noise cancelling on whatever level. loads more customization on the sonys but the above and the fact I have a small head the bose are much nicer. I also prefer the sound stage of the bose too much more.
You need to use the optimizer whenever you turn them on or the noise cancelling wont be optimized for your head
@@SpencersStuffTV I did.
@@mattshifu then i don't know what to tell you. We all have preferences i guess haha
I bought a Bose 35 ii for $160, like new. Im excited :) thanks for the review
Thank you for the review, exactly what I needed!!!!
Best review ever and I've watched quite a lot.. you're great!
Lol, its funny that you mention the snoring. On vacation with my bro, and he snores really loud. I turn on my bose and sleep like a rock.
Love your channel.. this video help me buy sony and thank you for posting true videos thank you so much!! Keep up the good work. And love the way you make videos pros and Cons ... Cons that other youtuber dont even show but you do.. all the best!
Thank you so much, I'm very glad I helped you out :) Enjoy the Sony my friend!! :)
@Mike; urgent question for you. The XM3s are currently on sale everywhere in Canada; should I buy them or do you think this means that the XM4s are going to be released soon?? (if they're going to be released in December, I'd rather wait. If February, then I'd rather just get the XM3s). Please help 🥺
I dont think xm4 will be released until next year ;)
Does the Sony’s software update mess up the ANC abilities?
That's what i was looking for. Unlike Bose, the ANC in Sony is steady even after the updates is what I've heard but I'm not very sure about it.
Hi, just for few hours I am using my new wh1000xm3. Updated to latest firmware 4.1.1. but disappointed on noise cancellation feature. In my bed room I can hear the fan speed sound or my wife's voice(low but audible) even when noise cancellation is on. where as per your video nothing is audible on the streets or any public place then how could it be possible in a room? Am I missing something as a new user? Kindly help.
What volume is your music at?
@@MikeWat 50 - 60%.
Pity. Whole point of these headphones is blocking out wife's voice
Whut fiancé ? I legitimately thought you were a teen lol. Great video this time! (I disagree with your reasons to not get the sonys)
By the way Mike did you get used the cabin pressure on the Bose?
I have both headphones and I totally agree with this review.
comfort is more important to me; I think sound is very important also but unless im comparing them I don’t notice... ignorance is bliss so got the bose a month ago
Great choice buddy 😊👍
Omg you can really talk, I always use bose, I only use it ti listen to music throw the computer, for me its just sound quality and comfort, I don't run with them even go outside just listen to music, Is the new sony xm4 better than the previous xm3, I already have the QC 35 from bose, can I use them for ps4 or tv too?
I love your reviews so much. your videos are informative and still so fun to watch and funny
I like that you were able to separate the features of both headphones and gave their strengths! Awesome review. #sony is indeed nice for sound.
watching this with my sony xm3s and i have to say i prefer these to the bose 100% (i compared mine with my friend’s bose and found it overall better)
😊👍
Couldn't agree more. Sony is way better than bose in every respect.
@@TarkanErimeragree but not in comfort
I have sony and they are great but they hurt my ears and are very warm.... Also hot connecting to two Bluetooth devices at one time is PITA
Good balaned review and good points on all sides. I also like that I could get the Bose in custom colors. I decided on the Bose mainly because of the comfort, audio stream sharing, dual connections. I would have liked the bass and noise cancelling for the Sony.
I’ve been tossing up between these two for months before I go on my trip around Europe. All around they’re almost the same but the comment regarding sitting on a plane and turn your head has been the key I’ve been looking for.
Good stuff mate, keep it up!
This Guy makes good content, this Guy is also very underrated
Thank you very much 😊👍
Agreed
This was the best review that helped me decide after watching so many review videos that never satisfied my indecisiveness to choose between those two. People have different needs so they will choose or prefer one over the other. My priority was 1. COMFORT from long hours of a useage for at least 6-9 hours and 2. NOISE CANCELING as a student. Not planning to listen to music while I study so the sound quality did not matter. Thank you!
You're very very welcome :)
which headphones did you choose
Spotify is set to ROCK EQ and the Sony Headphones app is set to Surround Concert and Bright EQ and iPhone is set to of course Late Night!!! For me it captures it’s most optimum Hi Res clarity!!! Just got the Sony’s at Costco for a great price!!! 😁
The vibrant color of the Hi Res you can feel immersed in the music!
Which one leaks out more music?
They don't leak much, the ear cups seal the sound pretty well....unless you're putting your ears right beside or on my earcups..xD
I am highly confused now 🤔 which one I should buy ?
My needs is super noise cancellation specially in coffee shops along with super sound during a phone call . Now i am standing in front of the elctronic store waiting for your decision.
Bose seems to be better with phone calls but please try to find the bose at a cheaper price! The new model may be coming out later this year
@@MikeWat
I bought sony 😕
Is that is good ? Because I need super noise cancellation, shall I return it back and go for bose or what ?
Sony is better, don't switch! I only said I'd go with bose if I can get them for cheaper or else I'd get the sony!
@@MikeWat
I swear i returned sony back to the store and now i am hesitated . My budget is 350$ to get super ANC headphones so money in this case is not a problem . Sometimes I talk to myself and say that is better to wait for bose QC 45 . But sure if it will be released it will be above of my budget Secondly now one know about the date of release . So please what can I do . Sony ? Bose ? Or wait till the new bose version.
Try Senhiser PXC550
Thanks man. Helped me make that choice.
