  • Welcome to day 1 of the IGNITE Breathe and Flow yoga program and yoga challenge by Breathe and Flow. We're so proud of you for joining us! Today we're starting strong with a 30 minute vinyasa flow class to open, lengthen and strengthen the body. We connect breath to movement. After that Flo is guiding you through a breathing exercise (pranayama) which is called nadi shodhana pranayama or also known as alternating nostril breathing. All of this prepares you nicely for the following meditation. We invite you to stay for the full length of this class, approach it with an open mind and open heart, be kind and patient to yourself and work with the body that you have today.
    Our classes tend to be on the stronger side but we make them very accessible for all levels. Feel free to take breaks if you need to, pause the video if needed and join us when you're ready again. This is not a competition or if you can make it without taking any breaks. This is for you to feel good, move, breathe and perhaps be challenged both physically and mentally. Let's do this!
    Use our hashtag #yogawithbnf when you post photos, videos or time-lapses of your practice.

    LET'S DO THIS! Welcome to day 1! We're so proud of you for starting this 28 day program with us.
    You can do this class whenever it fits your schedule. Tag us in your photos, videos or time-lapse of your practice with #ignitewithbnf and on Instagram also @breatheandflow.
    We forgot to cut out that part in the end of the video where a family was fighting and screaming outside. Everyone is ok though. Thanks for noticing, means you did the entire class!

      Hey Tyler, so happy you enjoy our classes and videos. We actually just do yoga, our personal practice is pretty strong and we do it daily. I also do brazilian jiujitsu, and Bre and I do some bouldering and climbing but no weight lifting or anything. Nutrition wise we're both plant based and do intermittent fasting every day for 20h, that means we only eat in a 4h window over lunch time. To summarize it all in this comment :)

    I'm a day behind thanks to time zone... Since I only do yoga in the morning. Woke up today with a pinched nerve in my left shoulder and thought I wouldn't be able to do this. Well, I did it. For some reason, the poses, even the planks did not bring pain in my shoulder. Hoping this flow will speed up the healing. Namaste! Thank you for this challenge. 🧘

    Started my yoga journey about a month ago now and the difference in my abilities has been incredible to witness. I once tried this program (Ignite) last year and the first one was so difficult I couldn't make it past the first minute. I finally decided a year later finally to give it a full on go again starting with the Embark program and doing that program until I am confident in finishing every day of the program. I have gotten to that point now and tried Day 1 of Ignite this morning and holy crap... I did have to stop a couple times, but finished about 95% of the workout I would say. This next month I believe is going to be very interesting in seeing the improvements. I plan on doing this program for a 2-3 months then start doing Flow's 5AM workouts for men in the mornings and get back into weight training some in the afternoon! So excited!

    The beginning was quite hard for me. I was surprised that I couldn’t hold a side plank properly-I kept falling out. But I’m happy I stuck with it and continued the practice. I will definitely redo this before moving on to the next video.
    Thank you so much, guys!

    Thanks to you both. Did the Embark program twice before starting Ignite; glad I did, as this is truly a higher level. I’m old, and though I’ve maintained my strength and am built like a linebacker, I’ve lost my flexibility, so this is a wonderful start to getting it back. Thank you for sharing this, and I hope all is well with you.

    This was intense. The side planks…I’m not ready for em. Embark was GREAT but a little easy. I need a bridge bw Embark and Ignite. I’m a 40yo overweight, stiff, but active man (I’m a cyclist). Any suggestions?
    Thanks for the content! I trust you guys. Great job!

    I just want to express my gratitude for you both taking the time to create this wonderful challenge and above all, providing it free. I experience health fluctuations (due to an underlying medical condition) and this is my 3rd attempt starting this challenge within the last 5-7 months. (I still have yet to finish it through). I’ve practiced a range of your classes from yin to yang. Now, I am at a point where I know my body is ready for strength training and this is an amazing opportunity to guide me. I appreciate you both. Sending love and light your way ✨🙏💕

    This was pretty challenging and I am loving your channel! Just a note that day 1 seems to have a edit left in where you're distracted by something outside right before nadi shodhana , not sure if it was intentional to leave it there, though it did not affect how awesome the practice was (in fact, I enjoyed it). Thank you for making these, they're amazing.

    Great Day 1. Very nice transitions even though the turns got me out of guard and bit confused. I had to pause and modify some things. I am 55 can't afford twisting something on day 1. Love your meditation and breathing. I was really relaxed towards the end. Thanks. 🙏 Namaste 🌞

    I did this! I had to modify some things since I just don’t have the range of motion. I tried to keep things in approximations of what you were doing. Maybe a little unsure but I focused on no pain and trying to feel the poses in the same areas you were describing. I found out my dogs love yoga, they were on the mat the entire time and kept licking me through shavasana 😂. 🙏

    • @BreatheAndFlow
      @BreatheAndFlow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great your dogs joined you too :) Yes, focus on the functionality of the pose never on how it looks. Fulfill the function and stay safe, that is very important. It seems like you have a great feeling for your own body and you modified everything where needed, that is the true sign of an advanced yogi that knows his body. Keep it up!!

    • @elena2364
      @elena2364 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I struggle with side plank too! To modify I either drop my knee to the mat (if you're doing side plank on the left side, drop the left knee to the mat) to offer my wrist more support or I come on down to my forearm which helps with wrist pain. I don't know whether those tips helped but good luck with your side plank 😃👍
