Dr. Murthy's perspective may offer temporary relief, but it's not a sustainable solution. Yes, fostering a sense of community is essential - much like the collective joy felt during a football match. But what happens the next day? The feeling fades, and we return to our routines. While helping others can bring personal satisfaction, it's a practice that doesn’t exponentially increase inner joy. The real challenge lies in continuous self-cultivation. It’s time for states to step in, distinguishing between what adds value and what’s simply "junk." A tax on unproductive work could discourage mindless output in the name of success. Instead, we should prioritize quality over quantity.
Community doesn't mean only humans. It is inclusive of our environment, animals and all living beings. When we see we are in coherence with everything around then we become aware and in turn life sensitive. So the permanent solution lies in raising individual human consciousness and having a community of aware people so that this rubs on the world in larger percentages.
Interesting. So helping is not the solution. Idea of state should step in, is not going to fix it. It'll make it worse. I guess, having a family and kids can make it workable. After that enlightenment, i.e., understanding how brain creates this and stop it there, can only truly fix it.

Being alone is a luxury. No one will ever understand you completely. Ultimately we all live life alone. An end to loneliness and happiness can only happen within you. I think Sadhguru has better understanding than Vivek Murthy.
I think oue mobile and affection towards wrong thing is the key to feel loneliness .Dr muthy is saying that we are not attached to the external kick (like chess tournament) to be away from the loneliness. sadhguru is saying that we have to be blissful inside and not from yhe external sources
Vivek Murthy is taking same prescriptive approach like a regular doctor does. If not Social connection person will get into loneliness in other ways. Social connection is not the only thing. Sadhguru has broader comprehensive approach.
Vivek comes across as extremely rehearsed and wooden. It sounded like he's giving a TED talk. Seems like a smart and nice guy but he definitely was a bit of a speed bump to the convo.
The theme of the conversation : Dr Vivek is constantly focussing on how could the society be helpful to individuals in overcoming their mental loneliness.. how could individuals engage with the society..In other words, how could individuals "do" something to feel better and not lonely. Sadhguru on the other hand is constantly reminding that individuals have to take responsibility their mental and physical chemistry right from the start. In other words, first being and doing. Of course in the early years, parents would play a crucial role in creating that environment for their children. But once they grow up, its the responsibility of the individuals themselves. Beyond this, the role of the social infrastructure is to create spaces like meditation/yoga centers that enable individuals to find stability.
I have been practising yoga and meditation from isha for almost a decade now.. trust me its the best thing that has happened to me in this life... being alone is significant aspect of my life.. blissfulness is created from within us.. so it does not need outside stimulation..

The theme of the conversation :
Dr Vivek is constantly focussing on how could the society be helpful to individuals in overcoming their mental loneliness.. how could individuals engage with the society..In other words, how could individuals "do" something to feel better and not lonely.
